  1. That's brave with kilos of vinyl and those lead spacers And the wing too! I reckon I'm under 1650kg, easy. That should be the minimum for a boggo car which mine pretty much is, even with the spacers the wheels are lighter than stock, seat is much lighter, bits and pieces lost from the engine bay etc.
  2. When I'm in charge, anyone that has an accident on a straight bit of road gets an instaban for a year. There's just no way it should be possible for motorways to have accidents every single day. This is alongside my long-standing snipers-on-roundabouts for those who don't indicate pledge.
  3. I'd take faster over safer
  4. Reminds me, I really need to get my car weighed at some point.
  5. Correct, they shouldn't. I wouldn't give anyone over the age of 60 a licence without yearly tests. Doddery old windbags.
  6. Interesting stuff, ta The torque per tonne figure is a good one, I've not ever really bothered looking up at that before.
  7. Indeed. Any old diesel lump has more than enough torque to overtake with, but no-one ever does. Me, I'll do it at every single time given the chance. Good practice.
  8. Tell a lie, it was Flickr, not Imgur. My bad, soz boz!
  9. It was a link that someone on PH posted the other day, let me go find it.
  10. That made me do a sad I know they're the same company underneath, but the respect that all the LMP teams have for each other at WEC is a breath of fresh air.
  11. Oh I don't get road ragey or anything, it's just frustrating to see the incredibly poor driving standards. They should be making good progress, to not be is just as selfish as middle lane hogging or not indicating at roundabouts. I'm talking about holding a drift at 60mph on an off-camber blind bend, I'm talking about being able to cruise round a gentle bend at 60mph on part throttle easily.
  12. Because they were taught to maintain good traffic flow, and if conditions allow they're driving without due care and attention for other road users if they're that far under the limit. It's why the roads seem so much busier
  13. Less ads on imgur? When I tried it the other day it gave you an ad every 4-5 pics if you scroll through gallery view, I've never noticed PB do that. Not relevant if you're only posting to forums, I admit.
  14. Doesn't really matter what they offer you for yours, it's all about the cost to change If they offer you £3K for yours and you want £5K for it, they just need to take £2K off the sticker price of the new car and you're no worse off.
  15. Not worth the risk. Replace them all and make the jump even, or replace with the same.
  16. On a similar note, and at risk of coming across completely wrong, does anyone else find that every other person on the road drives slower than them too? I don't mean on motorways and boring stuff where any muppet who wants to risk his licence can sit at 100mph, I mean on the bendy A and B roads. I don't even mean driving balls to the wall in your Zed: More that on any given road, you'll get stuck behind a car that will not do 60mph in an NSL on the straights, and will always slow down much more than you actually need to for the corners so you always end up catching them up and then getting stuck behind them. My daily route to work takes me on the A131 between Halstead and High Garrett, and without fail I'm by far the quickest vehicle on that stretch, even in the truck and not even booting it everywhere. I find it incredibly frustrating that people cannot read the road to figure out how tight a bend might be, nor be able to figure out the capability of their car to carry a bit of speed and avoid braking to a stop. It makes driving more of a pain than it should be, especially when it's a lovely sunny day and you're stuck behind a Golf R being driven at 50mph and slowing down for every single bend. No chance of overtaking that in a 2 ton truck!
  17. Try the Subaru, I found it a much more rewarding and accurate drive due to the different spring ratios.
  18. If you wanted to be on it, then sure: You'd easy out accelerate the Golf. But leave it in 6th and you'll be slaughtered
  19. Just to be clear, the BRZ86 is perfectly quick enough assuming you're in the mood to be on it every time. Much like the S2K, really.
  20. Pretty similar to how I found it Stu. Seats amazing, noise ridiculous (no fake noise maker, but a pipe on the intake plumbed into the cabin), great car at 10/10ths but being outdragged on the motorway by a 1.4 diesel would get real boring real quick. Shame it was on silly mixed tyres (a main dealer should know better), as with the TCS off then even on the OEM Prius tyres it's really very playful but in a good way.
  21. Best Star Wars film ever, bar none. Utterly, utterly stunning. No nonsense of setting stuff up for more films, or trying to remake the originals, or trying to do anything other than just tell a really f*cking good story. Let's deal with the bad points first: The Cushing CGI was terrible, like really terrible. The Fisher bit was okay because it was so short and she didn;t move a lot. And that's it. That's the only bad points I can think of. The characters were so, so well written and portrayed by all. It didn't even matter that we had another film with another young British actress playing the grizzled angsty lead, not when she did it so much better than what's-her-name from Ep7. In K2 we had a robot that finally wasn't a whingy little b*tch, or sappy and lovely, but just a sarcastic badass that gave just enough comic relief without being a parody. Loved him so much, gutted when he died. The detail in the ships (oh man, when they flew over the star destroyers at close range!), when the billions of TIE Fighters came flooding out of the shield ring, the brutality of the fighting and the explosions as stormtrooper after stormtrooper was flung to bits... Just immense. I wasn't sure about the music in the first half hour, but everything just fitted together perfectly later on. The scene as the explosion came over them on the beach at the end got me right in the feels. AND VADER!!! PROPER FREAKIN' VADER! Menacing, deadly, evil as f*ck and a huge reminder of how good a bad guy the character is. Cannot wait to see this again. One of the best sci-fi films of all time, and the fact it pretty much has to stand alone as they cannot do a proper sequel makes it all the more impressive.
  22. Sell it off and put the money towards a proper kit for your Zed.
