I don’t like Lewis as a person. Way too try hard to be cool, dresses like a knob, preachy to hell, the list goes on. When he was younger he drove like a twit at times, and other racers called him out on it too. Max is far more media trained to fall into the first camp, but he’s bang smack in the second one. He’ll grow up and realise the mistakes he’s making, and no doubt become an incredible driver who gets on with it like Lewis has become. Sure, Lewis has his moments mid-race, but afterwards he’s the perfect gent for the most part as he’s got the experience. Max is a petulant child-man for the most part when things don’t go his way, buts that’s okay as he is just a kid still. Look at Vettel: hated for smugness and whinging when he was winning 24/7, but now one of the most likeable men off track currently competing. Age changes people, and that will happen with Max. How anyone can argue that Max takes far more aggressive risks on track atm than any other driver is beyond me. Lewis may be a tit off the circuit, but when at work it’s incredible to watch and how he kept his cool after the championship was lost is a credit to him and makes him an ideal role model for any young racer.

No, it was 50/50. Max shouldn’t have lunged, Lewis should’ve lifted more, so I’d call it even. Tbh it was actually a decent call, to be fair on Masi.

I think the thing with the 350 is that it wasn’t perfect, not by any means. The interior was cheap and nasty even back then, the stock engine note was awful, and out of the factory it did handle much like the transport favoured by Rosie & Jim. Other comments on that thread are dodgy gearshift (yup), thirsty af (yup), and blunted by the weight of it (yup). And yet it’s still great fun. I maintain it’s possibly the worst performance car I’ve ever owned, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Practically every competitor of the era was better, but there is something about the 350Z that I will never be able to put my finger on that just made it irresistible.

I’m glad they threw out the protests, as I wouldn’t want a championship decided that way. Having said that, that was an absolutely shocking decision that Masi made at the end, clearly the wrong designed for one purpose only. Whether that purpose was purely entertainment or to give Max a title only he and his bosses know, but it was clearly a very poor choice. What I want to know is why he changed his mind on unlapping, and then why only some cars which is against the written code. We need to see the actual decision on that right now. Congrats to Max, but I think Lewis has done himself some serious credit with how he handled the events post race. He must’ve been gutted, but still congratulated both Max and Horner. Says an awful lot, that.

Void insurance

It’s reliable enough, but sluggish and doesn’t like launches as you say. Do Nissan still bar you from claiming on warranty after a set amount of launches?

The GTR DCT isn’t particularly good either: wasn’t great when it first came out, surpassed by almost everything now. The new Z won’t be a CVT, it’s a standard slush box. Another good reason to buy the manual

You don’t. Or rather, you hope the MOT inspector doesn’t clock it, or change back to standard units before the MOT. Or you just don’t fit them as it’s not 1999 any more, thankfully.

If you read the survey in its entirety, then some bits are fine like forcing manufacturer recalls, or ensuring safe operation of autonomous systems. However, the section that criminalises modifying is the one that needs to be chucked out.

Like I said, it’s not as clear cut as it initially sounds. Plenty of wrangling between all three parties I feel, and this is where you find out just how decent your insurer actually is. Who is it, btw? You're kinda right in saying that liability rests with the insurer as far as the policyholder is concerned, but as far as the insurer is concerned the liability is with the garage and they may feel that they should not shoulder the burden of a stolen car when it wasn’t in their care and clearly parked in a non-secure location. At that point they may want their money before paying out to the OP.

There’s what is right in fact, and there’s what is right in law. The trouble is the car at the time belonged to the OP, not the insurer. No agreement had been made as far as finalising the claim was concerned, hence why this is not as straight forward as you may think.

Interesting question. Technically the garage is 100% responsible and will need to claim via their liability insurance, however I suspect that’s void as they did not have it inside their compound which I bet is a term of their insurance, so you’d be stuck in a fight between the insurers and the garage. Their insurers have no liability to you, so if they refuse a payout then you have to chase the garage via court with all the risks that takes. Your own insurer would be well within their rights to play hardball, but it’s complicated by the fact they chose where to send the car so have a duty to you. It’s a shame really, as that would be a nice way to avoid a claim and your excess, but hey ho.

Tbh if you totally stay off boost then you’ll be fine, just baby it there.
