  1. Not just me that’s reading that this guy is running 265/35/19 on the FRONT and the 17”s on the back, then?
  2. Running that combo for anything other than an emergency ‘get you home in a couple of miles’ situation is dangerous as hell regardless of any other mods you may or may not have, tbh. Why would you not switch the fronts to the rears at the very least?! I’m not surprised you’ve had problems!
  3. Accidental landscaping, the single worst shame of all trackday goers
  4. Wasn’t having a pop bud, I like the enthusiasm from you on this
  5. More so than the Transit indicators? The thing with Nobles is they’re brilliant, but they’re always the first car with the bonnet up at any given track day.
  6. Every proper driver should own one at some point. Even if only for six months, they’re a true experience you won’t get with anything else.
  7. Someone has never owned an Elise car, clearly… I can still remember feeling like I was driving a Rolls Royce after chopping the VXR in for the 350
  8. It’s kinda your thread at this point mate, might as well own it
  9. PASM I never found that useful on the 9x7 cars, as the harder setting never seemed properly settled on the local roads around me and the wider UK in general. The gen2 stuff was much better than the gen1, but invariably I usually left that in normal mode when on a hoon.
  10. Yup, because there’s more material in the head so far less likely to suffer from bore scoring and d chunk problems. Must admit I’d go for the base car these days too, enough poke to be fun but you can wring it’s neck and not end up in silly speeds too quickly.
  11. Did he mention he’s won the WDC 3 times? Usually tries to slip that in during every interview the man bores me to tears.
  12. Clean the seats or rub your hands on some grease before you next drive and the reds will match perfectly
  13. Never go back, always try something different. Life is too short to keep driving one thing, plus the 86 is a fabulous car to drive
  14. Which is why I hope that those 98,000 people bothered to respond to the original consultation, which is what can and does shape what happens.
  15. Tbh mate, you rarely say anything that’s related to the topic in question that doesn’t turn out to be a bunch of blithering nonsense. We as fans can all have an opinion. Some might be more relevant or precise than others, depending on experience, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t share them. The more ridiculous opinions will simply be laughed at, something I’m sure you’re more than aware of.
  16. Since we haven’t had the results of the consultation yet, this is a waste of time. That was the time to do something, not now when we don’t even know what the final response to it will be. Save your anger for when we know the actual proposals and can form a reasonable argument against them.
  17. Listening to that is painful. Reminds me of being on the units at work
  18. I don’t like Lewis as a person. Way too try hard to be cool, dresses like a knob, preachy to hell, the list goes on. When he was younger he drove like a twit at times, and other racers called him out on it too. Max is far more media trained to fall into the first camp, but he’s bang smack in the second one. He’ll grow up and realise the mistakes he’s making, and no doubt become an incredible driver who gets on with it like Lewis has become. Sure, Lewis has his moments mid-race, but afterwards he’s the perfect gent for the most part as he’s got the experience. Max is a petulant child-man for the most part when things don’t go his way, buts that’s okay as he is just a kid still. Look at Vettel: hated for smugness and whinging when he was winning 24/7, but now one of the most likeable men off track currently competing. Age changes people, and that will happen with Max. How anyone can argue that Max takes far more aggressive risks on track atm than any other driver is beyond me. Lewis may be a tit off the circuit, but when at work it’s incredible to watch and how he kept his cool after the championship was lost is a credit to him and makes him an ideal role model for any young racer.
  19. No, it was 50/50. Max shouldn’t have lunged, Lewis should’ve lifted more, so I’d call it even. Tbh it was actually a decent call, to be fair on Masi.
  20. And even as I wrote it, I feared it would go over so many heads on this forum. I am relieved it wasn’t entirely wasted now
  21. I think the thing with the 350 is that it wasn’t perfect, not by any means. The interior was cheap and nasty even back then, the stock engine note was awful, and out of the factory it did handle much like the transport favoured by Rosie & Jim. Other comments on that thread are dodgy gearshift (yup), thirsty af (yup), and blunted by the weight of it (yup). And yet it’s still great fun. I maintain it’s possibly the worst performance car I’ve ever owned, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Practically every competitor of the era was better, but there is something about the 350Z that I will never be able to put my finger on that just made it irresistible.
