  2. I managed to get to 2 Motorway junctions then turned back MX5+snow= scared pants! nothing was gritted no main roads, slip road or motorway - M66 or M60. Just a few inches of snow but slippier than a local politician!
  3. Doh!!! Sorry folks I was convinced it was today! Old age my memory is going - recycle this thread on the 14th then!
  4. Sorry to hear that Colin hope he finds something soon? Why doesn't he contact his old boss and do contracting for him at a reduce rate? IT should be easy enough to find London way, I always get sodding phone calls about IT jobs there! Not sure I would spend the money on HgV license most companies won't accept you unless you have driven so many hours anyway? My mate is an HGV driver and was lucky the company he works for trained him up well- Wincanton logistics. Mart try here to set up your site I know it says for british business bit they are not fussed, there is a web building tool on there I think, should be easy enough and you get a free domain name. http://www.gbbo.co.uk/?utm_source=googl ... %20website
  5. Best time to use a Ragtop during autumn and winter ! I loved mine. As mentioned dont drop the roof if wet or covered in snow!

  11. I am after a 12v blower fan for my camper van to help boost its heating capabilty. Ideally something like a 3inch blower unit like this one, think its a bilge blower unit? These things are so expensive and even Fleabay is silly money, other than a scrappers does anyone have a good idea where to get something like this? Cheap Marine supplies maybe - is there such a thing ... ..you boating people out there? Mart? Failing that does anyone know of a car that has a unit similar to this I can get from a scrappers?
  12. This was a month or so back Stan - keep up I dont even know the time of day most of the time...
  13. Oh hang on whats this.......... http://www.caravantimes.co.uk/news/volkswagen-confirms-plans-for-new-microbus-concept-$21379007.htm The weird thing is these new designs seem to be influenced from TV or films animated or otherwise - based on the original vehicles, so have we gone full circle where now the designers are influenced by TV cartoons etc - Scooby doo's Mystery Machine which was of course the Yanks version of the VW bus ?
  14. Yep its the one Mike posted up (2001) there was a version of it that looked more Split like - I liked it but the T5 although a smart enough van just does'nt have the soul that the others did - read: Aircooled, engine in the back. BTW Danny dont buy a Split unless you have very very deep pockets and you dont mind causing traffic jams everywhere you go. They are so overpriced these days not worth the cash? I got mine foir £600 way back in 1990 - wont have one again though. Stick with my Bay until I cant work on it anymore or someone offers me £20K for it!

    A quick pic...

Very nice but you want to brush those leaves up lazy bones!
  16. Nice one Colin glad you got Guns back safe and sound.
  17. As you know I have been a VW aircooled head all my life and my present van is the orange Bay (in my signature). Came across this concept ?? Not sure what to make of it - of course VW wont build it but you never know.... http://www.autoevolution.com/news/2015-vw-transporter-is-a-thing-of-beauty-27797.html To me if your going to plunder your history do it properly - have it looking like a Split or a Bay not somewhere in between? Its really a retro van on top of a modern vehicle so its not a new from scratch concept like the original was? I think Nissan and Toyota could have made a better job of it to be fair? But nice to see the engine is in the back again? Putting a smile on it is a bit too cutesy for me - how many builders are wanting to drive around in that? The original designs had a pretty face but it was the styling of its time not because it looked cute and sweet? They look cute today as all the other vehicles look so bland square and dull? Having said all that I hope VW have the balls to build it or at least a version of it? Lets see..... What do you lot think? Modern day Bedford Rascal ?
  18. Thanks mate so do I - its a bit chilly at the moment but getting there - ski wear is a god send! Did you refurb it yourself or buy it already done? Not this time I already purchased it restored but have ditched the interior and have been doing that from scratch. With a 10 month old baby I don't have the time I used to so instead I buy an old Datsun Cherry to restore instead! Stew survived the drive and didn't get frost bite either!
  19. Thanks mate so do I - its a bit chilly at the moment but getting there - ski wear is a god send!
