  1. Erm times have changed since I did the Hoon!! There were no Mankinis then!! Eek almost glad we cant make it this year now!
  2. Totally agree mate and as mentioned - the Police have a tricky line to play - if they do anything that 'might be seen as heavy handed' the media and the bleeding hearts will throw the book at them, if they are too soft or stand back (as seen here) they get slated for not doing anything. I think they need to move in fast with all the power and equipement they have to get this sorted now! The longer they faff the worse it will get, go in there with tear gas (no bullets!) water cannon maybe but get on with it! Too many accountants probably worring about overtime cost also no doubt! Kids need to understand they are not untouchable but the media make them think they are!
  3. Just trying to get info and ideas on various stuff (so joined that forum quite good on info for old banger like mine and me!) We are ok thanks hope you and Fran are ok ? Still doing extreme mountain biking? (Lucy is considering buying the 100bhp Panda!!) Whatever next!
  4. Looks nice http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... ead=109637 He wants £2150 No I dont want yet another car but thought there are Datsun heads on here!
  5. We were hoping to go to this but unfortunately we wont be able to make it now - shame
  6. Take it back to the dealers just to show them - dont assume anything, remember you can get your money back anyway - regardless of who's fault it is you have only had it a few days? Get a paintshop to look at it to see what they think? Its worth a try, if your going to keep it anyway (which I am sure you will and get it resprayed, then just sand down the exposed (lip) of that paint -the bonnet is aluminium anyway - but dont leave it too long! If you dont ask........ Good luck
  7. Sorry to hear about this. Two things either some scumbag has done it - report to police or check underside of bonnet. Does it look like its been resprayed before? Check for primer underneath and any overspray. I cant see from the picture but is there primer filler or metal in that scratch? If filler its likely a respray? Did you buy private or dealer? If dealer take it back and tell them.
  8. I've heard of these - they have built these massive towns ready for the population influx due to the booming economy but they remain empty! Maybe we should ship out all the chavs and scroats from our towns over there to give them a little bit of personality on the nice clean walls! Of course the Chinese Police are probably not as tolerant as ours and their human rights are a little lagging behind ours (oh what a shame!)
  9. my old second car really is very old 1973 in fact!! To echo a few others points its down to circumstances - for me I used the Zed daily but it was going to bankrupt me but thats due to the 700 miles weekly commute. People mentioned I should get another car for that and save the Zed for weekends but not for me as its a lot of money just sat on a drive doing nothing? However family plans meant I had to sell it in the end (no regrets really) It was great enjoying the Zed daily but at the same time those service intervals crept up every 3 months for me, then tyres but it was petrol costs that finally put the last nail in the zed coffin. If you can afford to run one daily and you dont work in a job where it might get damaged then use it. But those trips to the tip etc would warrant a second cheap car (or van)
  10. Oh dear another 80's thread- normally my thing! But think you will get pasted for this one
  11. Nice one but a tow bar sir? For bikes?
  12. Yes Lucy went to look at the Julie ( as i call it) and that black with red was the colour of choice . Which Alfa has Amanda got then? Pics please.
  13. I love it , I have seen a dark brown on Pathfinders recently also - maybe its variation on a theme , glad Nissan still have the b@lls to try out different colours and use tinted laquers. Have you noticed the tinted blacks ,are the in thing at the mo. Jag , Alpha and Merc seem to be doing blacks with red or dark purple tints.
  14. Opps sorry just spotted your post - congrats on the second arrival Yep its for Ania really and my mum (who is finding it hard to get in and out of the mx5 and Camper (too low and too high) but even she was not that keen on it when she saw it this weekend! she likes sports cars instead!! But she did like the colour. Got my private plate on tonight so thats one less thing to be laughed at now !!(Thanks for your advice Stew btw it really was a piece of p to sort it at the DVLA)
  15. Sorry for delay - hope you can see the colour changes in these pics - from Milk, dark chocolate to pearly purple!
  16. Golden rule! Always go and see a fleabay car before bidding!
  17. Better not post on this thread i tend to buy the cars people dont like.
  18. Bronzee i have taken loads of pics this morning to try to show the colour and its a swine to photogragh , will try to upload the one thats the best match. Waxed it a second time tonight! Just came back from Grassmere in it with a dead fly collection most would be proud of, meant to just wash it down but couldnt help myself! Mr Andrew nice to hear from you old son. Left field is too much an americanism for me but yes correct again. I wanted a Cube way back in 2001 when i first saw one , it takes me a while..... Circumstances meant i had the chance to finally get one. I am driving it like i should have driven the zed which is a worry. its a great family car but also makes my commute a doddle. It even has cruise control for goodness sakes and a sunshield inspired by rice paper apparently? Bet your zed aint got one of them hehehe... Will have to pop over nex time and realky embarress you parking outside your house. Funny there was a coach load of japanese tourists today in Grassmere and they looked knowingly at the cube but also surprised to see one in Wordsworth country i guess!
  19. Thanks Jay - Doh I always forget about fleabay for this stuff!
  20. Haha you mean brown cords!! Just need bus driver shoes to match It sounds daft on paper but you need to see it in the flesh , will bring it along to a suitable meet where you can have a proper look folks! Have since discovered you get let out of junctions all the time and people let you pass, as they want a nosey! Like my old classic car days all over again - bonus!
