  1. Thanks Mart. Do you know how to reply, 'its ok i know the camera is auto exposure not focus.
  2. Hi just bidding on a camera on fleabay but the seller has sent me a message. Think i know what he is trying to say but please can someone do a proper translation for me ?
  3. Apples , pears and Sausage roll comparison comes to mind! Welcome to the club btw They are all good in their own way, personally (although I have never driven one) the BMW is probably a superb car on all fronts but for me ...... anything with a BMW badge and I just cant help but... Why not throw the RX8 in the mix also (here we go !) 4 seats, boot and you get the high reving fun of the the S2000. The Zed is more a lazy mans sporting carriage , it just does everything well with no drama until you look at the speedo then realise you might be doing more than toddling!! Try the later 2007 engine also to compare although I think the early engine is much more revvy (technical term) I will go back under my stone now.

  5. As an iphone user for about 3 years now, they are superb phones for everything except phone calls!!! The signal recetion is normally mediocre at best. Ignore the signal strength display thats just software, they can tell you anything! At least with the 4 i recently got it does'nt crash during 'always seemingly during important calls!!' and upgraded it to IOS 501. Other than some mp3 tunes funnnies its been solid. I was with orange since my first mobbie and always had motorolas, great until they were made in china then used to fall apart! Tried Samsung Omnia which was an excellent phone but the OS was dawg slow (windows) and build quality on a par with an Austin Maxi. The battery used to keep my hands warm though. Ditched orange and tried vodaphone- pants reception everywhere , went to O2 with iphone 3gs and generally ok but not the best. Still with O2 and iphone so far best combination. Like Chris I i too prefer the 2 year contract , i dont need a new phone every year( unlike cars ..... Ahem) so why pay a fortune?
  6. Naaaa Come Dine with me is so last year! 'May the best house win' is the new freak/vein/weirdo/bitchy programme!! Compulsive viewing, especially the hi i am Sheryl (34) and i am interior designer! 34!!!! Yeah try 48! Stop wearing leather pants luv! Etc etc etc you know the kind of thing!
  7. Good idea mate likewise put an ICE entry in your mobile for the same reason- emergency services understand this, put a close relatives number in as ICE.
  8. Thank you for that it helps a lot . I am hoping that the medicine will help. She had an initial evaluation the other day hence this prescription. I dont see a big change yet but its early days and yes it supposed to take a few weeks before things settle but today she seems more herself and is in fact watching telly quietly, something she has not been interested in doing earlier. So fingers crossed. Lucy's whiplash could not have come at a worse time and just adds to our stress but we will get through it somehow, I just need to remain strong for all of them. Thanks Bronzee I know what does'nt kill me makes me stronger but I have been through some s**t over the years I can tell you!
  9. Thank you all for your kind words and support , it means a great deal to me. Its early days and i am having to be a bit bossy to ensure mum gets back to a normal routine , eating well, sleeping and ensuring her medication is taken on time. Unfortunately Ania is also ill this week and has been waking up through the night, Lucy has whiplash from someone bumping her car the other night , so its not easy i can tell you!!! God is really throwing the tests at me eh! Thanks for the other links and info it all helps a great deal.
  10. Thank you both for this. I have seen the NHS and Mind.org sites which are very good, will look at those others too. Thank you again for this it all helps.
  11. Thank you for the support. They have prescribed amisulpride which is supposed to supress certain chemicals in the brain. I hope she comes through this because not sure how i will cope if the worse comes to the worse, but as the doctor said its good to get this early.
  12. Sorry for posting a serious subject but does anyone on here work in social care / mental care area? I ask since my mum has been taken ill this week, she is behaving oddly? The doctor thinks she has signs of schizophrenia? Hearing voices and imagining things that are not there? She is staying at my house so we can keep an eye on her. The strange thing is she still seems normal to me? Still tells me off when i say something wrong? Played with my daughter as normal and then i hear she is talking to someone? When i ask who it is , she tells me she doesnt know his name but he is a policeman. Is he dressed in uniform? 'no he is just dressed in normal clothes' and so on. She is not forgetful but i know she has not been sleeping very well recently. I really hope once she gets back to some routine things will settle down? Can anyone recommend some useful reading on the subject, you know the internet the information you read is more distressing than required. Thank you.
  13. Oh forgot click on my avatar and see if i have changed cars yet again!
  14. We have an RSS feed what more do you want? Maybe a nifty - type in the year and it tells you the engine power / body spec/ colours available /wheel- tyre sizes etc etc that kind of thing? Type in the month and lists the club meets and area they are in? Hold it next to an exhaust it listens and tells you if its louder than Colins or Andy's!!!! Type a part Number in and see how quick Alex can source and deliver?( of course other traders too!) Link to those scan 2 shop apps and compare your expensive waxes! Enough ideas?
  15. Before the USB turntables came along all i did was wire up a jack plug connection that feeds into my laptop from the amp i use for the record deck i still have. That way you still get to use your 'decent deck' for playing. Be careful best to use a low output feed such as tape out. There are plenty of free audio recording software packs on t'internet. It took hours though so as Andy says best to just getthe MP3 versions. However not everything has been digitised yet myold 12 inch dance singles are still rare as the proverbial 50mpg zed!! Before you begin clean the needle and the record- set record levels high enoughbut without distiortion.
  16. Stew, good time to pop down to ours for Some xmas markets again? Not as bad as yours but they decided to do some drainage work and cut off access to main part of the estate, no warning and the sign'Road closed' right in front of the work rather than entrance to the estate! Feckin genius!
  17. I noticed that - I thought it was a patch of grass as some sort of 'new age' optional extra! Only the japs would think of that! Its supposed to represent a bath mat as the inspiration for the interior is a bathroom/jacuzi etc etc the ceiling has water drop/waves etc My fave parts are the hooks under the dash for your takeaway bag. Stew you need to drive it again its tightened up now i fixed the steering/brakes and clutch! Thanks my whitewall flaps and domed hubcaps are my nod to earlier vans. I will sort put the petrol aroma in the next few weeks also(keeps the flies away though!!)
  18. yes no need for a 16 year old kid at the stealers learning on your pride and joy. its all there simple as pie! Fiat 600 overlooked by its smaller 500 bro! I prefer this one!
  19. Found this little gem recently and would love to buy it but ..... too many old bangers already! Anyway look at the picture of the engine bay? Surprised why more of these did'nt spontanously combust! Notice the petrol pump is right next to the exhaust manifold!! Heat and petrol next to each other!! The petrol pipe resting against the body edge over wiring. Then the radiator is imediately below the electrics /coil/relays etc! How the hell these got past any safety tests and into production!!
  20. Worried me a bit as I thought something dodgey was going on by receiving it!! I've had the van for 2 years nearly now so why get a V5 from the blue!!
  21. yes thats an option extra apparently but they have a dint in the dash just for it? Really works my sunglasses never fall off ! Handy later in life when hair starts to thin - they think of everything in Japan
  22. They have to skin 5 teddy bears per seat in Japan to get the quality just right! You know you want one - its that basic motoring urge... you know you want one
  23. Andy and Fran popped over the other day for a visit. They ended up with more than they bargained for! Some of you know as a former Zed owner I tend to go for odd car choices once in a while and my current Nissan Cube is not to everyones taste but hey .. bovvered! Andy drove the Cube off the drive haha the look on his face was priceless Pretty sure he was looking for dark glasses and a hat to disguise himself! But I think he loves the 1970's stylie velour seats In the meantime I moved his Zed out of the way! Ooooh forgotten how loud they are especially his Nismo rear end. Typical Zed owners making excuses that it was mint clean before he drove up - some things never change. When Fran sat in the Cube all I could hear was a constant giggling for a good solid 10 minutes - cartoon car I think she called it! So deep down I know you two love it! Secretly behind closed doors in the dark! Feeling brave Andy agreed to drive the van. We had a short trip out and once he had got over the petrol fumes he drove it like a seasoned pro! Nice one. We even had a beep from an impatient car behind us at a roundabout - this is 1974, life is slower miserable git! So Andy when are you getting your flat 4 alfa again then? It was good to see you both and I think a trip ta' Lakes is on the cards ? Now Cube or Van ? lets see how much snow we have
  24. Thanks Colin I am soooooooooo not tempted by that piece of junk!
