  1. 2 mins? Pffff, mine is done in about 30 sec, if that
  2. Its down to the standard geometry. I get this in reverse, and in this cold weather I get it going forward. Colins did it when I had a go in his too. I'm guessing in Nissans attempt to make the turning circle better they allow the wheels to go further than they really should as at full lock the angle of the tyres means you dont have any real contact patch. Fine for day to day manouvering I guess.
  3. Oooh, get you Mr Proper Seeing as my bodge way of doing it worked, its worth doing the proper bleed as per Neils post. Remember to keep an eye on the fluid as when you get the air out, its replaced by fluid, and if there is no fluid it cant get all the air out.
  4. Cant answer your questions specifically about the VBOX, but I can tell you that throttle position and RPM can be read via OBDII. Be warned that OBDII poll rate in the 350z (older ones at least) can be quite slow. Reading just 2 PIDs (RPM and TP) should be ok though, I found any more than 4 and you could really notice the lag. Not sure if it will connect truely via CAN as there will be different standards between all cars. I would imagine really it uses OBDII which is standard.
  5. I'll have a test drive tomorrow, I dont tend to drive around in manual mode unless being spirited Cant say I noticed any real change though. But yes, it is jerky in manual mode at normal driving speeds. Its because the torque converter locks up so quickly and can do so from as low as 1.5k RPM. Obviously in manual mode the ECU speeds up the rate of lock compared to full auto mode where it might allow the torque converter to be unlocked longer to allow for smoother changes
  6. I think you can get new springs in the UK also. Speak to your dealer
  7. Hey I got back fine in the snow last time, its all the other people that cant drive that get in the way Given the choice of snow or no snow, I know what I'd pick though!
  8. You obbiously arent a Zedder! Snow is evil, EVIL! No signs of the apocalypse in Blasingsmoke this year, phew! I do have some work to do on the car today though and its f'in freezing Now do I work outside in the sun where its cold, or in the garage with 1000w of site lights to warm it up?
  9. So he can fit it properly without damaging it, and ensure it has been fitted properly so that customers dont come back with BS about it not fitting and/or bits breaking. TBH I would be more than happy to travel oop narf to get Lee to fit it and stay overnight in a B&B or something. If you've every tried to remove the central arm rest bit, it can be a right PITA to do without marking any other interior pieces. Just get all the bits you want done in one go up there and save the headache of multiple visits to a garage
  10. I'm sure a fabricator could come up with something for you. Wouldnt be cheap
  11. Get a proper drying towel. We do not accept swirled cars around here and chammy's inflict swirls. I suggest you search the two bucket method and do it right
  12. Please can I have your car Colin ? ................ s'pose I ought to PM you Swap ya?

    Squeaky brakes??

I think he means keep it away from the friction material, not the pad entirely. You are fine to grease the backing plate of the pad, just keep it away from braking surface
  14. I take it you've tried the full lock one way to full lock the other to make sure theres no stuck air? I'm sure I heard someone say that you can get air in there from time to time and doing it lock to lock can get it out
  15. Had a quick look through the AV section of the 370z manual today - theres quite a few in there
  16. Even down at the Nissan level - the service I had from West Way Basingstoke and WLMG Slough are like night and day. Took a test drive with Basingstoke, totally uninterested (but quite attractive) sales woman took me out in the car for a spin. Asked them about this "connect premium", and touch screen update, they knew nothing about it. Told me they'd get back to me, never heard a thing from them again. Did the same at WLMG. Got an call a day later to say they are talking to NMGB about it and will report back. Day later, NMGB email me with the details and answer all my questions. They were very helpful and as such secured the sale of a new 370z. Even yesterday, WLMG gave me a quick call to see how I am getting on with the car and is there anything they can do for me. I reiterate, its very much is up to how good a dealer is, but when they are crap the manufacturer should step in and give them a kick when they are informed of such a crap dealer.
  17. I sat on my hands - must not buy more stuff
  18. 370z parts are likely few and far between. Breaker yards are likely your best bet, but given the lack of these cars on the road, I doubt there are many around in yards. You can try PMing ZMANALEX and R35LEE, they both have good contacts to getting spare parts. Hope you got the car really cheap as it will likely cost a fortune to fix
  19. Bloody hell Liam, when did you get so mature? At the end of the day, people will have an opinion, you cant say its right or wrong, as its their opinion. The tale of Chris and his Jag is an unfortunate one, and in some ways does deserve the press it gets as it was soo easily fixable, but neither the dealership (who are really the ones that should have sorted it) nor JLR gave a toss. Quite frankly, if a dealer is acting up, its up to the manufacturer to at least give them a kick. But the story is a bit of a running joke now, and I doubt any ranting or raving will make it go away any time soon. All these threads do is re-open the wounds. As Chris says, he hasnt posted anything (unprovoked) for a while, its others who have heard his story that do. I bash Basingstoke Nissan for the crap service I had when I got my Zed. Thats not to say they are still useless - and actually their service dept is pretty good, just a bit pricey - but it should serve as a warning that anyone using them walk into it with their eyes open.
  20. Yes comes on with reverse, and draws the grid lines, I'll take some pics in a bit. Harness arrived last night, so I got straight to fitting it. Pretty straight forward given the cables were already run to the arm rest from the rear, so whipped the centre console off and removed the monitor. Will do a writeup at the end of the week, have a day off so going to sound deaden the boot, so have to take it all apart again then.
  21. That kind of statement is bound to start a pissing contest TBH I don't think there's much to sqeeze between Canon and Nikon, but for a beginner in particular Canon may be more appealing because all EF lenses work on all of their bodies, whereas with Nikon you need a higher-end body to use non-motorized lenses. Oh, and you have to pay for Nikon's RAW software too. I decided not to bite on that one
