  2. This was the car in Wales 2009. As you can see, much of the changes were already done then - concept designed by the owner's 16/17 year old son
  3. Time for trip to the fabricators for the headers then Ian?
  4. When you have changed the exhaust I can guarantee you won't use anything other than 'S' Mode
  5. Nah, think we will let it run for a while
  6. Yep, never understood why all the fuss over in-car music when the ZED makes the best soundtrack
  7. Time comes when we have to move on - but been good to have you on board and out at meets - so hope you will stay on here with your contributions especially given your specialist knowledge in motorsport
  8. "Definitely no waste matter in the 'rainwater drains' just mud which smells horrid but is not sewage" Makes me even more suspicious that the pipework you had done 4 years ago is unsound.......or in heavy rainfall mud etc is getting 'flooded' into the gullys.
  9. I thought the fitting problem was overcome by spacers under the fixings - just mentioning that as I removed Wasso's strut bar last Saturday (he has/had a a plenum spacer naturally ) and was anxious not to let the strut spacers fall out onto Busters head who was under the car at the time
  10. Just to clarify, when you say you had: " we had new pipes installed from the downpipes at the front of the house which run all the way down to the end of the property via larger drainpipes with two inspection covers en route." are you talking about the rainwater downpipes and the smell solely from them, and/or the soil pipe(s) serving the batthroom(s) and kitchen? Or are you saying they link and both empty into the klargester, as Arkwright queries? (Whilst surface water normally goes into soakaways in some areas that goes into separate drainage, usually maintained by the local water company btw). When you lifted the manholes where the smell was coming from, did it contain human waste, as opposed to just rainwater? And I presume both your rainwater and and soil waste are not shared with the neighbouring cottage and are completely independent - if they are I presume they are 'upstream' in the drainage runs given you have the cesspit? If you are finding the smell is coming from gullies where the kitchen waste flows, then as Ekona suggest and what you say about the tenants, be suspicious of fat blockages. Or it just might be a build up of debris that can often be shifted by a few bucketfulls of water thrown down or use the power washer to give it a good flush. Also, kinda supicious whether the new 'downpipes' you had fitted may not have been properly connected underground, but hopefully that is not the case.

    Fancy one?

Likes to 4-wheel drift I see So, deposit down Alex or do you have one to sell?
  12. We have a pair of touch lights - off and 3 brightness levels that use 33w G9 Halogen capsule bulbs, with the lights plugged into 13A sockets. Anyone know if I can use LED 3w and if so does it need to be a dimmer type bulb? Not found a definitive answer googling although some reviews, going back a few years, said the lights would flicker on the 'low light' option(s) Ta
  13. Request from Grundy to hold fire on this as dates are changing. Let us know Matt when you want it up and running again
  14. Originally posted in 350 tyres subforum, but equally applies for 370s. Pinned.
  15. Spotted this vid of Robby Gordons Dakar Rally Hummer on that link above ^^^^ - just the job for some of our potholes Mind you, makes a good job of the doughnuts
  16. I don't think it was Bob to be fair. He wasn't permitted to eat till 11 and I'm sure you were hovering the stash of grub. We know how you tick sir! You have such a short memory, see post 831 ^^^ See picture 8 of post 828. We have some evidence of shiftiness caught on camera! One box of sausage rolls is hardly "shiftiness" Corrected that for you Graham
  17. Without trawling back through your posts - why back to BMW? As GIXXERUK says check your brake fluid level - make sure it is up the max - 350's are certainly very prone to the symptom you describe and no doubt 370's will have the same issue as we hear more about more low brake pad wear and the fluid level in turn reduces in the reservoir.
  18. Cheers Chris, I tell you what, all the removal of that sodding underseal & all the nooks & crannies has been soul destroying, wish I had paid the extra £££ & gone down the blasting route True dedication there
  19. I used to think that too, but then had a chat with the dude in my IocaI SheII garage after asking why V Power was so much more expensive, and he said he had no idea, but was sure that V Power was 97!? Maybe he was wrong From Wiki: "In the United Kingdom and Denmark (where Super Unleaded must be a minimum of 97 RON), V-Power has a rating of 99 RON (whereas V-Power's predecessor Shell Optimax was rated at 98 RON).[1] There is one other 99 RON fuel available in the UK, namely Tesco MOMENTUM99." http://en.wikipedia....i/Shell_V-Power and : http://www.topgear.c...emycar/dr-fuel/
  20. There's a surprise - Buster tucking into the doughnuts while backs are turned
  21. Nissan, their manual and even the reminder on the filler cap cover tell you to use 98 RON.....bottom line. But if you are not interested in your engine having a long life you can run on a lower grade - but why? To save a few pence on fill-ups? If that is the reason then I would suggest you should have looked at a car designed to run on 95. And as the for the salesman telling you would be fine using 95 - or course he is going to say that if he detects from your questioning that a sale may hinge on how much it is going to cost you to run the car. If that is the case then you know the answer....... Sorry, but we are now seeing all too often 350/370 engines going pop or wearing out prematurally that is clearly down to owners skimping on the petrol choice

    MPSS and snow

Turn the traction control off so you benefit from both rear wheels getting some grip. MPSS are a 'summer tyre' and dropping the psi to 32 means you are flattening/spreading the grip patch, albeit slightly, which on snow/ice is not what you want. If you put on some winter tyres which will be a thinner profile with harder compound and more defined block pattern on the tread, as required in such conditions in parts of Europe, you would immediately see a great improvement in grip
