    Alfa... just...

We've got a 1.6 derv. Cracking car. I believe the 1.4 is very good as well but as always service history is a must. Alfas are really sensitive to oil changes etc. We had one in the other day that wouldn't start. Turned out it had immobilised itself because the oil life had run to 'zero' and it needed a service. Never heard of that before but there it is! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk Is it right that new Alfas are shipped with just a small amount of oil and it is down to the dealers to add oil to the correct level on arrival? That was a line my son was told when he found very low oil in his new Alfa about 5 years back.
  2. I think you will find anyone who has seriously tracked their 350's would use 18" - Zmanalex is a case in point.
  3. Length of 4" x 2" screwed to the floor in a position to ensure the car does not hit the rear wall would be (and is ) my choice.
  4. Moved to traders sub-forum - hopefully one or more will advise you. Perhaps an intro about you and your car
  5. Check the fluid level again and top right up to the max line if it is below. We have seen this situation many times over the years and the problem resolved after a couple of top ups. If it has gone down and continues to do so you might want to check to see if you have leaks, aside from the potential safety implications if a small leak develops into a bigger one.

    3mm spacer

Halfords do 3mm spacers: http://www.halfords....3mm-4-or-5-stud A word of warning though. I bought a set to use with 20mm spacers on the 370 but not longer after they were found to be responsible for disc distortion due to the soft alloy compressing unevenly. So I changed the 20mm spacers to 25mm spacers and all good again, although I appreciate you are not using other spacers. So just suggesting you be a bit careful in your choice so as not to cause another problem.
  7. Black 350z with bonnet scoop - facelift I believe given the headlamp brightness, as you followed me (in a white Mazda 2 ) down into Angmering Village past the motorsport track. Oh, and I guess being female caught my attention too

    2016 Calendar

Got mine as well today and a nice touch with the meets inserted in the A3 calendars. Really good job Stu, having been enlisted at the 11th hour and taking the trouble to honour Martin who was the mastermind behind previous years calendars
  9. And in the meantime, check your brake fluid level. +1 +2
  10. Just heard on the news someone has been arrested.

    Continental Tyres!!!

Absolutely - and that applies to all tyres, whether for road or track use, until they are 'warmed up' their performance will be compromised and the issue is simply highlighted in the winter.
  14. Never had chrome wheels but wondered if the info in this article offers an option - SILVO, mainly for ease of use as I did use it to keep the chrome tips on the 350/370 exhaust tips shiney, although from time to time Autosol was used to help clear the inside of the tips as well as the outsides. Worked OK for me for several years. http://www.ifranks.com/cleaning-silver

    Continental Tyres!!!

I have the Conti 5's on the A45 (tend to be regular fit on new cars) but owners who have changed to MPSS have also reported their superiority and they will be my choice later this year, having found when I had the 370 that they were in a different league, both dry and wet, to the Bridgestones & Sesstantas previously used. Having said that the A45 grip with the Contis is plain awesome with the 4WD so I will be growing a bigger pair to find the car's limits shod with MPSS.

    Brakes seizing

If you are not parked on a slope, try parking it l1st/reverse gear with the handbrake off - almost certainly that is what is causing the brakes seizing with the moisture content around at this time of year. Yes!
