  1. i'm using mobil just now and its lasting alot longer than castrol edge. Burning about 100ml less between top ups in comparison to edge I expect there is an easy answer to this but why are using mobil and not motul that you advertise on your car BTW, I have used Motul in my ZEDs
  2. Just a thought. You don't normally have police vehicles with a camera van. It may be that van was checking for insurance/tax dodgers as that is when police are normally in attendance to chase after the dodgers when the signal comes through. Fingers crossed for you.
  3. How about taking a pic and add a note to pin on a staff noticeboard where you work that a 'grey' car has done the damage and would the person responsible kindly contact you before it is reported to the police as failing to report an accident - might embarass them to come forward or a colleague might know the culprit?
  4. Hope this helps: http://www.abd.org.uk/speed_limit_signs.htm and this quote taken from it: "Thus drivers entering the new 30mph limit from the existing one have only one chance (if that) to realise that the limit has changed — if they miss seeing that one sign, assuming there is one, they may continue at 40mph in ignorance of the change. This in our view is indefensible, and even more so if no sign is installed at all. There was a case in Kidderminster in 2002 where a 40mph limit was reduced to 30mph on the A449 and no signs warning of the change were installed. A large number of drivers were caught exceeding the new limit and one of them went to court, where it was agreed that the highway authority had acted unreasonably by not making drivers aware of the change. The police had to refund all the fines." If you feel the law is not complied with I would go back and take a video of the relevant section of road just so you have a record of the signage, in case it gets altered
  5. In standard form: And now wrapped:
  6. You can ask them why 50+ ZEDs got past the van without a ticket about the same time and yours didn't
  7. "A photograph with your user name on a piece of paper with the item(s) must be posted at the time of placing the advert"
  8. Given your 'fanatic' status I've approved the ad but as you are cleary a pro with the camera and so I don't get my ears clipped by the rest of the team, if you can post a pic of the lens with name/date..............
  9. There is a God 7 WHOLE HOURS without the pesky dawg on the forum
  10. So they're old, then? Maybe they're hard of hearing which is why the TV is on loud? That's hardly going to be grounds for a legal complaint of any kind. Any kind of retaliation by making more noise really isn't going to help matters. GO AND TALK TO THEM LIKE A CIVILISED HUMAN BEING. If they're still arseholes after that than you can start thinking about other methods, but until you've done that then you're as bad as them. +1 and bear in mind if you make a complaint to the police or other authorities you are legally required to devulge formal complaints during enquiries on property sale which might put off buyers, so best to try and resolve amicably. When you revealed is was elderly neighbours that is a difficult one as it is bound to be a hearing issue for them and chances are they are removing hearing aids (if they wear them) for some respite. My father can't hear very well but what we have got him to do is have the subtitles running and no sound on the TV - and that has worked well (for him) and overcomes the potential complaints from neighbouring residents in the sheltered accommodation where he lives, on the advice of the staff there (in Oz).
  11. Sounds like you might have to raise your voice for them to hear your invite In which case drop a few leaflets through their letterbox about hearing aids
  12. Now that is far too sensible way forward Chris - with the freedom our demoracy allows that will only stir up those who, without any good reason will shout "foul" - we will do what we want. But when you see how families of those involved are affected and what they go through, and I can assure you that when it is your own off-spring and whether it is money problems, drugs or whatever, as parents/relatives you end up tearing your hearts out wanting their problems to end without their lives being ruined. and Vik/Sized, anyone else - drugs are drugs and if misused it not only affects the users but others as well and until they are only used as prescribed (yeah, Utopia) the associated problems will never go away, sadly.
  13. Nice write up and pics there Will - yeah and sad that Iain's roadster has to go......
  14. Could try turning your TV up even louder and wait for a complaint and say you had to do it because you couldn't hear yours because of theirs More seriously, might be an idea to introduce yourselves and invite them in for a drink and at the right moment tell what you are planning to do (insulate the stairs) because party-wall does not seem very sound absorbent - and do they have any suggestions? Hoepfully they get the hint and are reasonable.
  15. Great race and well won by Lewis Germans didn't fare too well at their home race Wonder if Webber and Alonso will pick up penalties for the lift back to the pits - none I hope. But maybe Ferrari might if they can't supply a fuel sample
  16. I think a sense of pproportion is required in terms of notifying insurance companies about minor incidents that results in no loss for anyone - i.e. how many times have you seen lorries create ruts in a grass verge - do the drivers ever notify the Council or Highway Authority what they have done - do they ever and if they did the department concerned would have to treble its staff etc! Thousands of minor vehicle related 'accidents' must happen every day but either the collision is so minor that the parties sort it out with resort to the insurance companies, or I suspect when a wall is hit or whatever nobody worries about it - just one of those things with no harm done. No point in giving insurance companies any excuse to hike your premiums
  17. 57 plate - looks like you were on your way to Kingston about 10.40am. I wasn't in the 370 so no point an old git waving from a Jazz as you came past
  18. ZED is looking very nice and great pics - credit to you
  19. The G man. I have the same issues on a few occasions of late when you expect to open the car on the cars buttons rather than using the remote - which works fine. I have wondered whether some other signals are interfering but as it has only happened a few times not unduly worried. What was strange on one occasion is that the "no key" orange light light came on when driving once but fortunately did not turn the car off Maybe the fob battery is getting low (nearly two years old, and if it means anything the car has done just on 10k miles) so I will get it checked at the next service later in September.
