  1. If I am not mistaken that is clarkie34's car. If so a great buy - see here for starters viewtopic.php?f=9&t=50005&p=728510#p728510
  2. Welcome to the forum and 350 owwnership. Until you have 5 quality posts you will not be able to send pms (spamming issues). But if you want to buy the club stickers you will need to contact M13KYF (admin) for them - he may be on soon and I am sure will respond then
  3. No one else involved no statements taken therefore no third party , breakdown has taken it for scrap you have accepted the loss - just ring the insurance and cancel the policy and get the balance of your premium back (less admin fee) as you are not making a claim and move on. I would.
  4. These two links should help you get started with pics etc: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=25963 viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7695
  5. Excellent guide - thanks flyboy

  7. So, do you like the colour, or should I say does the finance manager?
  8. I think you will find that cars get used by an employee but the service docs are held centrally and when the car needs servicing they user gets a message to drop it in to a nearby dealer but he does not get involved with the paperwork. When it is deemed the right time to sell the car I have heard that it can take time for the car and docs to meet up Perhaps EH370z can put some more light on this?
  9. Should be no problems with fitment - I bought a s/h system for my 296 Zed that had come off a 276 version and it fitted with no issues - but then it was a Nismo
  10. I do understand the peace of mind bit but if Yoko's car was being sold by a dealer I would expect to see £2-3k plus on his price. One of the best things about joining a forum is you can look back through the seller's posts to get a good feel for the history - something you won't get from a dealer. Frankly the used-car warranty's they issue are next to worthless IMHO - there is always something in the small print they can get out of. Besides which if you are very cautious you would get an RAC inspection done anyway? Which you do with a private sale and if the seller says no - walk away. Check for the service history - that is the most important bit. A 350 engine is so under-stressed it is highly unlikley to 'pop' unless the oil level has not been kept up - something a good professional inspection should reveal for your peace of mind. But the choice is yours
  11. Just saw this link on another thread - in case some of the info helps http://www.350zmotoring.com/forums/audi ... moval.html BTW - you have made an excellent purchase purchase there - one of the GT4's around
  12. Oh jeebus, that really sucks and just with your move and all - feel for you Col and will certainly look out for anything in your line of work
  13. That may be the problem if you did not clean up the caliper where the pad was stuck as there is likely to be a build-up (aggravated by the new pad dust) if only small that means when the rota goes in reverse and some heat has built up it 'fires' the new pad against the piston? And did you copper grease the surfaces and shims to make sure everything moves freely? Not saying that is the answer but given wht you have said I think that is something worth looking at first all and to check it is working OK and compares with the near side in any event
  14. Yes, pre-facelift Bumper. Just to make clear that these will not fit UK supplied 2006 facelift models and onwards. A search will reveal plenty of threads to confirm.
  15. me neither
  16. No you are not - got that link by a google search having done the same research you are doing, some way back
  17. he can't cos of our 5 quality post rule I'll do it for him

  19. I know how you feel - my step mother (who passed away) got alheizmers and was absolutely furious when the Doc confirmed she could no longer drive as she did not recognize the symptons, but it had to be done. Older age inevitably leads, or can lead, to slower reactions, poorer eyesight/hearing/senses but when it does that can vary so much from one person to another. It is also obvious that come retirement car choice is usually restricted due to price/running costs and inevitably leads to smaller and dare I say more basic cars that means their pace on the roads and making manoeuvres is often frustrating and can even be frightening, as the examples above reveal. Tolerance of other road users, even learner drivers, can often seem questionable and that creates an "us and them" that can lead to bad driving through frustration. But we also need to remember car insurance premiums reflect the inexperience factor for new drivers or known risks and oldies will get their premiums hiked in the same way as their health and travel insurances, until it is no longer viable. But as hard as it is, yes it often does mean close family members are the ones who normally have to say when they should stop driving and I am dreading the day that happens to me. And that is going to happen to everyone else on here at some point in time, so enjoy your driving while you can.

    350z seats

There have been issues with the heated seats since the ZED was released - general consensus is that they are poor compared to likes of Audi etc and as far as I can recall no definitive answers to where problems lie although faulty sensors, trapped looms (under the seat/s) have been been blamed. One suggestion I saw was someone even thought the amount of heat was linked to the climate control setting so if you had the windows down that would increase the seat heat couple of threads where the queries were debated: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29678&hilit=heated+seat+working viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18158&hilit=heated+seat+working&start=0 As regards the differing seat controls I believe they have changed as the ZED has evolved. The 370 has full electric control for the passengers seat as well as the drivers seat, probably because the storage locker is no longer behind the seat. The drivers seat has the two knurled side knobs, one for raising/lowering the squab and one for tilt. There is also a lever on the side of the backrest for the lumbar support. The passenger's seat does not have those. If I'm honest I found the 350GT seats a tad more comfortable for my hips and although it is said the 370 seats are supposed to be the same as the 350 ones they are not and also evidenced by the absence of the little side storage trays.
