  1. I do wonder how the Scottish National Party intend to fund the health service in Scotland once they gain independence. The sums really do not add up there, but why let that get in the way of blind patriotism I'm looking forward to seeing how they pay for their free education as well, i do wish them the best with it, but having to use the euro might tie them in to a whole heap of issues that may put a halt to some of their grand ideas as they end up having to help bail out europe
  2. they will for us Don't get started on this topic boys. Why is it that you believe the Scottish are sponging off the UK economy? I like our country being part of the UK but I firmly believe it could hold its own. Don't believe everything you read - if England would be so well off without Scotland, it would of cut its ties many years ago! i'm not saying that, its better for us as we won't have to keep putting up with your winging that you want to be independent. i say go for it. but its a mighty brave country that picks up the euro at the moment and thats what bonnie scotland will have to do, because from what i can see westminster aren't planning on letting them keep the pound, even if it is that funny money you lot use up there.
  3. welcome to the club. and oh my god you didn't buy that death trap did you???? its a cut and shut of 3 cars and a baby hippo. only kidding, he took great care of that car it was his pride and joy, and was left wanting nothing. should give you many years of happy motoring

  6. why do we give them money in the first place, why not food vouchers valid in supermarkets etc, and then a small amount of cash to suppliment any other important requirements. but to be honest there isn't much you can;t buy in tesco. or sainsburys etc these days. and the vouchers should be invalid if you try and by things like fags and booze. they are after all a luxury not a life requirment.
  7. i voted, i really really was going to vote for you neil, but then i saw the blue 240 and my finger slipped but i don't feel bad as he's miles behind you. so no threat to the vote best of luck though neil

  9. my first car was a rover 214 bought with 120k on the clock for 300 smackers sold 2 years later 150k for 300 smackers
  10. big displacement, an engine that spends most of its life at the lower rev range at cruising speed its only on about 3k rpm at 100k its just about broken in. engine should easily be good for 200k things like big v8 can easily see 250k to 300k good maintanence is the key though.

    decat vs hfc

don't know, which BC exhaust you getting? is it the one like the K1? as for the Y pipes etc matching up? i thought it would follow a similiar path and so would be able to mix and match. i'm sure it could be made to fit. as with anything i guess it comes down to money time etc and if its worth the cost. you know best what you want out of your car and what you want to achieve etc.

    decat vs hfc

decats, nismo y and scorpion, went through mot no probs Yeah but thats because the MOT guy was scared of you lol, Just need to know where to go. I may get the car to run on two maps if the law really tightens down on this stuff so i can run hfc's on road and decats on track. Doesnt take long to swap em over at all as long as the nuts arent seized up if your heading that route, your best bet would be the motordyne XYZ pipe.
  13. actually it does it because of torque, the engine has enough momentum to drive the weight of the car just on idle revs. if there wasn't enough torque in the engine and you tried it the car stalls out. prime example is you can pull away in a diesel without using the accellorator as the higher torqued engine can pull its self on idle revs. big engines like V6 and v8s etc can also do this. just. try it in a 1.1 little thing and it usually stalls out without revs.

    decat vs hfc

i like the Berk HFC's top piece of welding perfect fit, good results, no compromises when it comes to MOT etc.

    decat vs hfc

is this definite, tested etc as got some decats but won't bother if they eat torque! on there own they might be alright, but i've seen it on plenty of other cars where the exhaust system is made "free flowing" yes the BHP gain is very good, but its all at the top end, and in order to make any use of it you'd need to be 4th gear doing over 120 mph or more to see its advantage. what you tend to find on most fully free flowing systems is they lose a load of grunt low down, like pulling away at a jun ction/lights etc most don't notice it with the added noise etc makes them feel like they are faster. most people only care about the numbers they can claim down the pub, but real world driving and the fact that on road cars they won't pass an mot and you need standard equipment on i wouldn't bother with them unless you were building a track car. i also don't like them on the zed because they tend to lead to a horrible raspy noise. to me it sounds chavvy and cheap, but to others they think it sounds "racey". but this is my personal opinion, and many disagree with me, so your best bet would be to g oand try someone elses car who has them already fitted. if you like them fit them, if you don't, sell them.
  16. i always liked the m16 throttle body engine conversions that some people did on the 306's
