  1. i know of chips away, my father inlaw used them, said the repair was good, almost completely invisible, you'd never find it unless you knew it was there.
  2. OP already owns a 182 so Im sure they know that much I'm trying to post unbiased, basically the zed will be more expensive on parts especially if you do a lot of track work, and in stock form about the same performance although it drives very differently. but the zed is a car worth trying and owning.
  3. the 182 will be cheaper to run as a track toy in regards to discs, tyres and pads etc. both fairly evenly matched going by senna's video above; have to take into account though that neils car is not stock and he's spent a lot of cash getting it to the standard it is currently at. i would reckon in stock v stock form the clio possibly has the edge. both great cars to drive.
  4. my wife uses it she has everything apple, and i can't fault it, its flawless, she never has any issues.
  5. see i'm toying with upgrading my computer, my current one is having BIOS issues and keeps crashing occasionally on startup and i get blue screened. its about 3 years old but i look at the cost of apple even with a teachers discount and they are still bloody expensive. Apple cheapest is £999 (£939 as a teacher) http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_mac/family/imac/select where as even the top spec alienware X51 setup comes in less money than the mac http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-x51/fs and i wouldn't need that much power as the only thing these days that i do graphics based is photoshop. although the new starwars game is due out soon so might tempt me to play desktop based games again. (i have my Xbox for most of my gaming needs) at most i'd by the 2nd or 3rd option, and i have a great monitor already so loathed to throw it/sell it in order to go mac based.
  6. see i've been contemplating waiting for windows 8 to come out, as i'm an Xbox man, and i use android, i have been tempted to move to a windows based phone, but heard they are crap so will probably stick with android. the reason i mention this is i like how apple is all integrated. if you run all theri stuff it just works together. and with windows 8 coming soon i was hoping it might do the same with my xbox and possibly phone etc. i don't like the apple phones had one was good but prefer the versatility of the android. seen my wifes mac, its lovely etc but i reckon i might have the same issues with it long term as i did with the phone.
  7. Currently my software use includes web browsing MS office software photoshop CS5 software for my Vinyl cutter software for other peripherals like printer camera satnav and phone. this is why i'm wondering if i should run both on the same machine. keep ubuntu for the day to day web browsing etc and windows for the specialist stuff.
  8. thats what i currently run, lets just say when i bought the computer it came with an unofficial version on and i get lots of messages and it kills my background back to black etc. so i'm contemplating change to something more official it all works etc but if i was to get a fully paid version i'd wait till windows 8 comes out later this year. and as my system is a 32 bit system i'm wondering if windows is not the best option for me.
  9. This may all seem a little geeky, but i've been contemplating leaving the MS windows family to something else. my wife is an apple convert and although its good i don't want to go that route or buy an apple mac etc. so i've been exploring other options. and the only thing i've seen so far that i like the look of is ubuntu. is anyone else running it, are there any issues or short falls i should be aware of, will all my current software run on it like MS office and photoshop etc. or could i run both? if so how do i do that and swap between windows and ubuntu?
  10. wasn't there something a while back that explain cats were RWD and dogs were FWD or something like that
  11. i was trying to work out what was driving the fly wheel at the end, as there was no drive belt visible, and just the little white hose. but i suppose air could be right, as you say there is no cloud of smoke. but the exhaust is making a noise which is more than just being driven like earlier when it was on the drill. either way a clever bit of tool work.
  12. i'd say its running off nitro fuel same stuff you use in little single piston RC car engines
  13. was trying to work out what kit it was, the paint kept putting me off. like the GT500 kit alot, its my favourite widebody for the zed, just needs the right paint and wheels
  14. I've used DMS for the S2k they did my 4 wheel laser alignment
  15. if you don't mind a small drive you could come up to martlesham outside ipswich and use Team AFM they do all the work on all my performance cars, they are based out of Ipswich accident and repair, they are a body shop firstly, but their mechanics are awesome. they build and restore all kinds of things. also you could try DMS down towards the dartford crossing, or a bit further is abbey motorsport. as for specifically in essex, sorry can;t help you.
  16. Actually if you changed the wheels and gave it a new more subtle paint job thats not too bad, i much prefer it to the failside and its a million tiimes better than the iberhausen (or what ever its called )
  17. Agreed, just check the date stamp, when they arrive, anything older than 3 years send them back
  18. he's not bought 2nd hand tyres he's bought new tyres, they just happen to be a brand/make that is no longer in production which means its the last of the stock being sold off. if he's bought them from a company like camskills or another online tyre place he should be fine.
  19. its the weekend i doubt its been processed yet, they probably have it, or its waiting to go through customs. i found the USPS site to be very slow to update if at all when shipping to the UK,
  20. not a big toyo fan myself, have run them on a couple of cars don't rate them to be honest and that was the T1R's just be aware toyo's tend to be greasy as hell when first put on and require very gently run in for the first 100 miles and a steady run in up to 500 miles. side walls can feel very soft with a lot of lateral movement, when i first fitted them i actually pulled over because i thought i was running on jelly. but if you up the PSi a bit this does help to compensate. once bedded in they aren't bad but would have taken the conti's or the GSD3's over the toyos any day.
  21. other option might be someone like chips away, they can repair stuff like this for less than a bodyshop. might be the cost effective option. just do an online yellow pages search for smart repairs and see whats in your area
  22. M3 Vert looks good as for the maserati, lovely looking cars but will spend most of its life being fixed in a garage. I looked at them a while back, but my mechanic friend warned me off them. if you have a good sized wallet then go for it. but then saying that i bought the XKR so i'm still fixing things all the time
  23. I had a GTi6 and a CTR and they were great fun, i have to say my GTi6 was possibly my favourite FWD was a real hoot to drive regardless of weather, a real confidence instiller of a car. it weighed bog all but handled like a go kart. i'm fairly confident i could lose a zed on wet back roads if i was back in my old GTi6 and that was standard as well.
