  1. Tarmac, i'm currently working on something as an RTCustomZ project, but it migth be right up your aisle. whats your importing relationships like with australia? i'll give you a bell tonight or something
  2. Myself and 5 other colleagues are entering in the 3 peaks challenge; we pay for everything ourselves, but in order to able to enter we need to raise a set amount for charity. We've just set this page up as all our donations go to action medical and it would be great if people off the forum were able to sponsor us. http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/teamfarlingaye as for the 3 peak challenge if you've not heard about it we're basically asending and desending the 3 highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours. if you want more info you can check out here http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/ is anyone else participating in it this year?
  3. its the track equivilant to a backpackers rough guide to the planet, becuas eyou have the book you think your going to find some paridise eutopia, but everyone else has the book as well, and when you turn up its rammed with tourists. the hidden days of the ring are over, it used to be a place to go if you were in the know so to speak, but everyone knows about it now and for that reason i don't think its as magical as it used to be. every man and his dog seems to have driven the ring now.
  4. have to agree with what you said on this. one of the big things i found is that FWD is more fool proof for less experienced drivers, its far easier to correct an out of control FWD car than it is a RWD if the driver is not experienced. The rewards with RWD is not that its always quicker but the fact you have alot more control over the car, and in a sliding situation a driver of a RWD car can get more feedback, feel and deliver more control. I've driven a race prepped 370Z in the qualifiers for the nissan challenge a few years back and it was a great example of what i said above. there were other drivers there who were based in FWD cars and were bragging at how easy this was going to be and just watch them own that track. there was a lot of confidence form most of the FWD boys. but it was funnier still watching them spend most of their time going round in circles as they couldn't control the back end. they were too used to being bailed out by FWD that they tried to do the same thing and the RWD just chewed them up and spat them out. i think you can probably go faster in a FWD in alot of situations but i think RWD takes a bit more skill to drive and gives more feedback. as for the best setup for a car. i would say mid engined 4WD with a 70/30 split on the front to rear bias.
  5. he's a 32a-28-30.... oh you mean the monkey
  6. its as easy if not easier than the 3M stuff. just make sure the surface is clean and de greased and should go on well.
  7. its glossier than the 3M stuff, i'd say more satin finish there are some pics in here viewtopic.php?f=38&t=49257&hilit=rtcustomz+vinyl
  8. if you move me down the list, i can always do a hand over to scotland in early june to someone like Neil when i'm up at fort william for the 3 peaks challenge. so if i have him last 2 weeks of may or something like that. i have to laugh it sounds like a custody hearing
  9. i use and supply the hexis carbon vinyl as i think it looks better, and is easier to use. if you want some let me know.
  10. hmmmmmmmm bit gangsta innit don't mind paper planes; must admit i've got to a point with music at the moment where there are tunes i like but have no idea who performs them. in this thread alone, i've learnt that the song i like from a while back is called paper planes, and that the artist i've never heard of is called MIA; learn something new everyday. i wouldn't go and buy it, but if it came on the radio i'm not going to try and pour candle wax in my ears to stop the noise.
  11. as someone said above, it might be worth buying a part finished project, one that someone started but didn't finish. or you can buy them direct from westfield in varying part built setups if i remember rightly, but the cost goes up the more they do for you. i plan to build something in the not too distant future, currently trying to save for a 3 wheeler but not the kind that comes with Trotters Independent Traders on the side i've been looking at something like this the rayvolution or the marotti there is method to my madness, i'd love a bike but i know i'd kill myself in a week, this should give me at least 2 weeks before i go out in a ball of flames. also my single garage is only just big enough to get a car in, it would be an arse to try and build one in there. something like this will take up less space, and also being bike based it will have less parts and should be easier to work on. and is possibly more likely to be finished, and not sit unloved behind closed doors. if all goes well i might progress from there on to a caterham, and then from there on to a GT40
  12. i'm really enjoying the new series, the nascar stuff was interesting as well
  13. yes; ones driven by more younguns and therefore the crash ratio is higher on the zed than the M3 maybe, but we're not asking about young'uns................ we're asking about me n my Mrs - same people, same risk! an older car and worth a 1/4 of the M3.................. but its £130 more.........!!! thats my point! thats not the point, if i am right i think both the vehicle and the driver are weighted. so there is a cost for the vehicle and then discounts applied depending on driver, age, experience etc. as its all stats based, if more 350z's have been crashed than 2008 M3's the zed is a higher risk car. they take that value and then start discounting for what you bring to the deal. so if you have 5 years NCB and are over 30 you'll get a set discount. same as you would on the M3 but the Zed obviously starts higher before your discounts are applied. you'll have to blame all the 20 something drivers who think they're senna and then spank the zed into a tree or ditch. been here 4 years now and every winter you can almost watch the tally of people post up saying that they just hit oil on the road and now the car is written off. etc etc etc. if you think the zed is bad try insuring an S2000 its even higher risk, yet has a bit less power still.
  14. yes; ones driven by more younguns and therefore the crash ratio is higher on the zed than the M3
  15. i'd give anything to have my zed or S2k back in the snow. not becuas ehtey were awesome in the snow but becuase i think they be a damn sight better than my jag. as its an auto and there is no snow mode button, plus with the huge 20" rims summer tyres and the 370 bhp, i think mondays drive to work is going to be a bum clencher.
  16. thats quiet cool but in this weather does this worry you at all
  17. i usually clear the majority off the roof etc but leave about 1cm so i don't touch the paint. and then clean all the glass parts and lights. anything left on top can then blow off when i drive. just remember your captain brave pants and take 2 brave pills before you go to sleep if the snows not too bad its do able, but if its proper thick you might want to think twice
  18. coldel it looks like you're parked in the middle of the street? as for suffolk it has started but its really fine powder stuff. blowing around lots.
  19. i think the route of the problem is not "proper" english but a dialect problem. there are dialects i like and ones i don't in the UK both above and below the borders as well as in wales and ireland. I love the southern irish accent, but not a fan of the derry dialect. I like the yorkshire accent, but mancs, scousers and jordies sound odd to me. I don't mind the edinburgh sound, but find the glaswegian lilt quiet harsh. i'm from the west country and some people think that sounds a bit simple same as the suffolk accent. i'm not a fan of the essex accent i think its lazy, but not all people in essex speak with it. i like the north welsh accent and i can take it seriously, i love the south welsh, but it always makes me smile. i think that what ever the likes or dislikes are just becareful how you tell other people especially if they're from there
