  1. i'm doing the 3 peaks challenge in June or july i will be on some activity don't know what yet with a load of students
  2. sorry didn't see what area it was in, also worth pointing out labour costs near me are pretty low and not the national average. as said above, call abbey direct its a far quicker method of asking a question.
  3. sign em up Dan, i'm happy to participate
  4. depends on the garages hourly rate, but you'd be looking at about an hour and a halfs work. labour rates of around £30 an hour if that gives you an idea
  5. in your sizes camskill don't do the Vreds, but the Kuhmo KU39 are a little more but not a bad tyre and around the same price, but more tempting to me is the Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3 which seem to be available in your sizes, they are difficult to get hold of, as they stopped making them, but they are a superb tyre if you can find them. i think it was £160 each for the rear and £140 each for the front. alternatively the KU39 were about £100 each hankook 110's also quiet good as well.
  6. some insurance is worth while but alot of it is just easy cash for insurance companies, for instance the electrical stores like comet who try and flog you extended cover etc. if your clumsy then of course its worth while or if you're dishonest then its still beneficial, as i fall into neither catergory i don't tend to take them out. i've had a mobile phones since 2000, and only ever had 1 break on me in 12 years, so mob insurance seems surplus to requirement. but like dan says if your out and about doing a physical job the risk is higher. tyre insurance is a funny one; in 13 years of driving i've had 3 punctures, and all of which were repairable at a cost of £30 each; so i've spent £90 in 13 years, also i don't liek the idea of changing just 1 tyre, so at least with a repair the tread depths will match across the axle.
  7. dismantle and fit, my guess is they take a live feed to the power already running to the controls to feed what ever is illuminating them. i was in the process of sorting out illuminated pre 2004 ones, but i need to finish the hydrographics first.
  8. i'd probably say the yellow stuff pads would be adequate, or if you like ferodo i think they did a ds2000 which was a slight step down from the DS2500
  9. 59 crimes near us, but not really close 840 near the flat we own 0 near my parents who live in the arse end of no where i think thats not to bad

    ZZ3's....

never used the avons, but they would probably be about the same as the falkens, personally i prefer the falkens.
  11. There is no love in "this" I am not "targetting" you as i suspect you think i am. I only reply on something that is in my eyes extrememly "offensive" that someone seems almost proud of abusing a system. if you post stuff like that expect to get picked up on it. but i tend to feel its not that you've been challenged on it, its the fact that i've done it. if it had been someone else you probably wouldn't be so defensive. I'm guessing you'd be happier if i no longer posted on here any more; i don't know what your issue is with me but i'm sad to inform you i will be sticking around and continueing to post for a looooooooooooong time to come. i personally think i've been quiet diplomatic about it, as i've tried not to let my full personal feelings about this influence my post and make it "personal" as for social acceptance this more than evident; are you acting like someone your not? i'd like to point out you get what you see with me, and as in "real" life i will happily challenge things. your more than welcome to pm me if you wish to discuss this in private. or even copy and paste a moderator in to the messages if you prefer.
  12. Thought you lot might find this funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ntDYjS0Y3w
  13. Sad to see you selling up, but it looks like a new exciting chapter is opening up for you car wise and i look forward to seeing the pics
  14. You post on an open forum that you made false claims on an insurance policy, and your back up to this that makes it fine is that it was a long time ago and you did it under a different name. i think my question about IF you claimed on minor accidents for whip lash was actually more of a rhetorical question as you seem to answer the scenario more and more every time you type. what your parents have to do with this i have no idea, but i will say if my dad knew i'd done something like this he'd be ashamed of me as thats not how he brought me up. as i said in my last post you are your own person and you make your own choices, but this is possibly something i wouldn't be openly voicing on an open forum, not because the insurance police will catch you; as we both ascertained i don't think they actually care. but more that its not doing you any favours if you want to be taken seriously. your reply was far more damaging than my original post; i may have given you the spade, but you dug your own hole and jumped in feet first without even looking
  15. everything is a personal choice; I'm not your dad and your a grown man so old enough to make your own decisions. for me its just not something I'd do; it feels like stealing, but i know where your coming from, my old mate when i was at school used to take out phone insurance, then near the end deliberately drop it in a glass of water and claim a new free phone; as the insurance was cheaper than buying the phone. to be honest i blame the insurance companies its like they design the policies to be abused. but this is why i don't take any insurance policies out apart from mortgage, car and if i have kids then life insurance. they are a rip off to everyone who doesn't abuse them. i even feel guilty that I'm having to claim on the house insurance after i ruined the carpet downstairs when i spilled stuff from a bin bag when i was emptying the bin. we even paid twice for 2 different companies to try and clean them before we even thought about ringing the insurers.
  16. by any chance do you also claim for whip lash on all minor collisons as well?
  17. wow raps not my thing, but i actually enjoyed that, as my students would say.. he got pwned
  18. i'd be happy with all 3, but i am drawn to the noble, if i had to rank them on which i'd buy first if i think it would be the lambo then the noble, then the maclaren, but to be hoenst i think i'd be happy with any of them. but the noble is nice and i've always loved lambo's so those 2 are both winners in my eyes if only i had a very large pay packet like some kind of banker
  19. either way your donating to kids be it dan or the actual school age ones
  20. i turn my full beams on to oncoming numpties who have their fogs on when there is no fog.
  21. other option might be to donate them. i give all my read ones to my school, it really helps the boys to read and encourages them into the library, they love car magazines and most school librarys appreciate them. just ring one up and see what they say.
