  1. i have a range of champers left over from our wedding gifts, and my 30th birthday. have tried a variety and used to serve a range when i was a bar manager. i have to say i think alot of the expensive champagne is over priced, but it may well be its wasted on my taste buds. i had veuve clicquot at my uncles wedding and ever since its always been my first choice if i needed to buy a bottle for something. I know you said it wasn't your thing, i know they also do a special reserve bottle as well, but never tried it so can't comment. its never my first choice for a drink but don't mind it at wedding etc. good luck with your search i hope you find what you want, and good luck with what ever the special occassion is
  2. between the M6 and the A1 the A1 is a nice route. its the costal road from about yorkshire up. but it takes longer a fair bit due to single carriage ways etc. if you can do it cross country its worth a go. but you'll find it an incredibly long drive.
  3. i've used avery for vinyl cutting signs, but not tried wrapping with it or seen their wrapping films. Both 3M and Hexis use air release technology to help with fitting, would need to research the avery stuff to be able to comment further
  4. i think it has to be remembered that alot of these laws are also there to protect the weak, when you make this move across a certain line in the sand it starts to open doors to other things like assisted suicides etc. there are people that want to end it becuase they feel like a burden on their family, they might actually want to live, there are others who's familys might see the financial advantage of "removing" a family member, even though they are wanting to live on. others have been known to think one way when healthy, but when they find themselves in that situation they might feel different. personally i can;t say i support suicide or abortion, i can see its place in society, but morally i don't think its right. as with regards to myself, i do agree with ekonas original post where if i was left in a vegative state that i would be happy for the machine to be switched off. or to have a do not resusitate sign above the bed. i think at the moment the fact that these issues have to be taken to courts of appeals etc is a good thing, it might be long winded but it makes sure the person going through this is serious about it and that the process doesn't become like a production line. at the end of the day all life is precious
  5. good episode, was googling rally cross and then hill climb challenges first thought was buying a 306 gti6 and taking it rally crossing.
  6. hexis is good stuff, i've used it alot its very forgiving. stuff like the carbon is thicker due to the texture finish. there is a next generation of vinyl on its way in the future which can be specified with actual automotive paint codes and can also be polished like paint to remove scratches etc. no experience of the stuff yet but i'm contemplatng getting some samples to see what this stuff is like. but when and where in the UK it will be readily available i don't know.
  7. Ah the old zed tinted glasses RXS your not the only one who wasn't blown away by the zed, i was really excited when i was getting mine, but personally i found it a disappointment. not that it wasn't a good car as it is. but not as good as i thought it was going to be.
  8. i'd love to own one of those, i would have put it on my list, but i can;t spell it
  9. So many i'd love to own, don't think i could pick a favourite one ever though Jaguar XJ220 Ford GT40 (old one) konigsegg SSX but i think my top one might just be the Alfa 8C
  10. i've used halfords MOT place before as it was £25 they were fine. car passed no work needed. as for trusted garages, not all do MOT's and they just take it somewhere else for you.
  11. the way forward is not an eco diesel but an eco petrol. there are new engines out now that do 50+ mpg from a petrol engine so you can use the cheapest fuel and still do good miles. just looking at the stats on a long drive the latest golf GTI which isn;t that much slower than the zed on a long drive can do over 40 mpg and it doesn;t need 98 ron fuel either. same with the sirrocco GT. smaller turbo engines seem to be the new way forward.
  12. Black scorch marks? Skid marks? Ion Cannon? we could play, guess the black bit?
  13. its alright BM i saw you in the black tiles about 2 or so weeks ago, but you didn't notice me
  14. have to agree with you, spent some time in husky's GT4 the performance is stonking, and because of it he's got a lot more noise going on. intake sucks, blows dumps etc. its great but for me after a while the novelty wore off, where as the whine on the SC makes me grin all the time. its more subtle and for me a more mechanical noise. but i'm running a proper old school charge cooled twin screw top mounted SC, i don't have much experience with the snail shell mounted SC setups. my guess is they still get all the SC whine, possibly more.
  15. perosnally i'm an SC man myself, i like the fact its more like NA than turbo is. ok so the power is less but its there though out the rev range instead of nothing, nothing, nothing BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST
  16. sorry not the best pic currently grey, which looks alright, but bit tired, thought about red, but it would be too dominating i thought plan is black with gold lettering. i reckon black with turquoise on yours would work well. subtletly is the key
  17. Replied, and here is the best pic i can find of the gunmetal calipers
  18. i actually voted black, the red does look good and goes very well, but my thoughts were, go black and then use the lettering to pick out the colour. i've been having the same thoughts about my own brakes, and have decided to go black (currnetly gun metal) but use gold to pick out the lettering on them. (to match the gold wheels) the reason i say this, is that you have alot more options in colour when it comes to vinyl so getting the right shade of what you wnat is alot easier. you'd be peeved if you had 2 tones of blue down there. if they are being painted do you know what they're painting them with? if its not specific caliper paint any kind of brake fluid on them can strip the paint off. Caliper paint has a specific polymer base to it to make it resiliant to brake fluid and dust etc.
  19. its not the kit i question its the original fitter i'm sure you've done a top job
  20. perosnally i think its best to buy a car that comes FI from the factory, or one that someone else has done the work already. best example of a supercharger setup i saw on this forum so far was Ian, he used the HKS setup and it looked almost OEM another one to watch is Keyser, as he's rebuilding one someone else did. ones not to follow are nurrish, if you ever wanted a fireball waiting to happen follow his.
  21. love the little 500 abarth's awesome little cars
