personally if you want a safer environment with tutition to learn about your car and have fun, go book yourself on something like a CAT driver training day. they set up little track layouts, and its only 1 car at a time out, and the only thing to hit on the airfield is cones. lots of run off and a good fun day. taster days are about £40 but you don't get much tutition, full CAT days are about £130 i think but you get someone in your car with you to give you pointers etc. I've done the taster days as i like a hoon, and did things like high speed corners and short sprint courses as well as a full track layout. its safe its fun and a great taste of fast driving and a good stepping stone into track days -

by the looks of that one the day would include a drivers briefing first and then you have slots in which you can go out on the track. each one is 20 min, you can stay out the whole time or come back in to the pits anytime you like and go back out. its not a race, so although everyone is going fast you can go at your own pace, learn the track and the feel of the car. if your a novice and would like some tuition, there should be someone available, but best to contact them first to let them know, and then you can pay by the session to have a driver with you. club organised ones are often the best as people tend to be more respectful of each other on the track etc and you get less numpties. MSV tend to be pretty good and their mashalls don;t tend to take much rubbish from people. -
i know what you mean, jaguar say only to use castrol (in the old jags its magnatec) Edge in their new cars. i'd like to go back to royal purple, but i don't know if it meets the required ACEA numbers for my car. where as the mobil 1 does, millers crops up a fair bit as well. i use their brake fluid, but not tried their oils.
-
I thought mobil 1 still fell in to the group IV as a PAO I keep looking at things like Amsoil it seems to get very good rep but its soooooooooooooooooooo expensive, and when you need 8 litres for an oil change you have to draw a balance between quality and cost. i would say that mobil 1 is a step up from castrol magnatec, but there are still better oils out there to try. I noticed a change in MPG when i swapped to magnatec, it did drop by about 2mpg, i'm interested to see how this mobil 1 esp fairs. i too have heard that mobil changed their base stock, but that it was still better than other oils out there.

i think aircraft carrier is quiet apt, i'm the same length as a big estate car, and wider than most cars. it does feel like a 5 min walk from one end to the other. the body kit gets rid of the roundness from underneath the car which empersised the gap to the floor. with more square edges and nose it widens the car up and lowers in visually. at the moment its only going to be the rear bumper as its going to be part of the rust cure measure

with an uprev if your starting point was 250 it would only just be bringing you back up to about 276. but as you said it would be giving you the best version of that car.

the colour is called anthracite pearl, i thought it was black when i bought it, but after a good machine polish found that colour underneath. as for the exhaust not seen that one before, but there are some good options out there.

+1 Very true, I test drove a couple and it almost put me off! I got a good one but when I had syncro issues and clutch went it drove like a pig  it was found a while back especially with the early ones that they were way off their advertised 276, some were as low as 250 or 240 bhp.

Ground clearance can easily be reduced, but i must admit i like the fact i can clear most speed bumps with out grounding out. its also helped my knee that i no longer have to go so low to get in the car. if you thought the zed was low the stock s2000 suspension is almost on the floor as for the wood interior i like mine, but its not the usual walnut dash, it doesnt photograph well but its a greeny grey almost like sharkskin finish. i love it. and the turquoise dash lights at night look awsome. heres a couple of paragon pics of their new verendum kit. which is possibly going on my car it is a big car my mates call it the luxo barge which is fine by me, its huge, but it does what its designed to do very well. the seats are like arm chairs i can do a 7 hour drive in it and get out feeling very refreshed, its not a chore to drive, it almost drives itself. and when i want to put my foot down the SC makes mincemeat of pretty much everything. its got 2 more seats than the zed and a bigger boot. makes going on long trips that bit easier. i don';t mind what others think, i'm happy with it and it makes me smile, and the auto box has saved my knee from falling apart. only thing i'd like to see on it is possibly some paddle shifts on the steering wheel. and when i get bored of the power i can sqeeze another 150 bhp out of it for less than 2k.

This is not true. There is many cars on here with much much higher mileage still on original clutch. I'm on late 20k's on original clutch with a good few miles on track having its arse kicked. Only quoting from what I read elsewhere. Apparently they average about 40k until a new clutch is needed and mine was changed but he previous owner at 35k due to slippage. I also seen one for sale with 28k on the clock with a very low price tag because it was in need of a new clutch. But if you guys are getting 70k+ out of them, that's great, hopefully i'll be able to get the same as the new clutch has been on for 30k atm. Its all to do with how it's driven tbh. Burnouts will kill it quickly, no doubt. Lots of motorway miles and it will last a lot longer. big +1 on this, if driven properly the clutch will last fine if driven badly it doesnt fair well.

Yep having the facelift interior was a must for me and I couldn't find any hr engined car with nismo kit at a decent price at the time, so I went for the revup car. That minuscule amount of extra torque the 276 car has isnt noticeable on track at all. Buy a rev up car 313 car and map it and the torque will almost be the same if not more. In a straight line there is a noticeable difference as shown in videos I put up from Wales track day last year. My car was far faster in a straight line than the 276 albeit I have it mapped with some mods but still the 300ps version. I have been in many zeds and some feel fast and some don't which is bizarre. I think there are some real rough cars out there and some which run better standard. but your comparing 2 different drivers 1 modded and 1 not. we're talking about bone stock, from factory, identical conditions, same driver etc etc there is not alot in it. the new ones might drive better have better interior are smoother etc etc but they will all cross the line pretty much at the same time i would say your talking about half a car to a cars length between each model so at most between a 276 and a 309 a car gap between them. which in racing terms is not a lot, and a good driver in a 276 against an average driver in a 309 could make that up and more. there is no disputing the 309 is the better car, you'd expect it to be after 7 years of development from the original and an engine which is 75% different from version 1.

its alright you can keep your hot wheels car, i''m happy with my mans car
-
because you tend to find owners clubs over value their cars compared to what the rest of the world value them at. with petrol getting ever more expensive by the month you'd be suprised at how fast the value of a big engine car starts to drop. people who can't afford to run them want rid quick so sell low, and those looking to buy want a bargain because they are buying a big engine in expensive times. Dealerships offer low PX on them as they know they'll struggle to shift a big engine compared to an eco car.

since those old pics i've got new wheel centres, tinted the back windows etc fitted reversing sensors, added phone bluetooth connection.
