I paid £800 (at discount, I work for them) for a full service last year at Nissan to maintain the full service history. I had literally all fluids and spark plugs changed so it sounds comparable to your Jag. If you're local to the south coast you're welcome to have a look around mine, and I'm sure others will offer as well You'll rarely see a 370z or a nismo on the road, they are a unicorn car within reason

The early MK1 nismos did have a few reliability concerns as they used the HR platform found in the late 350zs. The main offenders were but not limited to Gallery gaskets Clutch slave cylinder Steering lock mechanism Most if not all were rectified on crossover of late 2013 models onwards. So basically MK2 onwards were fine. Gallery gaskets I can confirm were refined along with the Steering lock issue, however the clutch slave is up for debate

I still think you're confused. This is a MK2 Nismo (mine) production ran from 2015 with a very minor facelift in 2018 onwards with smoked rear lights, darker door handles and a boot switch internally. Tax is annually £595 a year because as others have explained, it became the value of the vehicle instead of the emissions that dictated its tax bracket in 2017. If I had bought my Nismo only 6 months later, I'd be paying much less! This is a MK1 Cosmetically they are quite different, front and rear bumpers, blacked out headlights, sideskirts, different rear spoiler, different style Rays alloys, Recaro non electric seats compared to the MK1s cloth electric seats and the list goes on. I really struggle to see how the MK2 looks Cosmetically cheaper? It's just a different styling, one you prefer or don't as the case may be Mechanically they are 98% identical, with the MK2 having two changes to note which were gallery gaskets and steering lock mechanism refined.
-
No, only very mild changes were made. They had smocked rear lights, darker door handles and a boot switch to name a few, very small non consequential changes that had no real point if I'm honest. On the nismos at least I'm not sure what you mean by the "right shape"? Are you sure you're getting confused between the MK1 nismo and MK2?

No disrespect but if your main criteria is cheap to run, cheap tax and sensible then I really think you're in the wrong place. Owning a Nismo myself, I believe I can speak with at least some experience and say they are not cheap to run, they are not cheap to tax, they are not cheap to maintain, and compared to modern horsepower, they arnt even that fast. Practicality is non existent, forget most multistorey carparks and where ever you'll go it'll attract attention, for good and bad reasons. If you want sensible, own a Honda Jazz like I do BUT, they are rewarding to live with. There is something about that old school feel in a modern vehicle that just makes me smile. I took the girlfriends brother out last week for a blast, let's just say he left grinning ear to ear with the shakes and hes not exactly used to slow cars, owning a R32 golf himself. Basically, if you're using your head, buy the BMW. If you want to be a child and relive your younger days (as we all do) buy the 370z.
-
I'm genuinely a tad surprised at how much has been used from the 370z. The rear interior, centre console and door switches to name a few are identical. Not keen on the two tone paint job, not sure why manufacturers do this as it would have to be one body colour for me. Shame we won't get it over here

Invidia sounds great and fits up perfectly, just doesn't quite look like I'd want. ARK on the other hand sounds amazing, looks amazing but requires modification to fit the Nismo straight out the box. Kinda mad to cut up a brand new exhaust don't you think? Wouldn't be the first time I've had to modify an expensive exhaust out the box though 😂 They're yours when the time comes mate, you know this already!

So now that my phone / the forum are finally behaving, I think I can post some pictures! I treated myself and the Nismo to a new spoiler, from a MK1 Nismo just to keep it that OEM style. Why the MK2 never came with a spoiler I don't know I need to get it painted, and get the 14 holes that the OEM ducktail will leave filled, smoothed and painted as well, yikes! Does anyone know what the grey on Nismos colour code is? For reference, this is what Nismo owners will find under the ducktail! I then got the car ready for incarnation, que marathon cleaning session I'm still on the hunt for an exhaust, but as we all know life has a habit of throwing things to slow you down. Itll happen, just a shame i missed that invidia gemini that was for sale on here a few weeks back!

They can cause the paint to "sweat" amongst other issues as others have said. Years ago I had a milano red Type R that I had under cover for roughly 6 months, which caused the paint to come out all blotchy and faded in places, particularly corners of the vehicle that were facing the sun

The only reason I enjoy working a Saturday, taking this in and leaving it in the workshop so I can do a few tweaks without racking up a bill!

Edited, saw it was an auto 😂 I wouldnt worry personally. Would agree about cheap aftermarket gaskets though, they never last. Lot of heat goes through our exhaust systems

Our 350z-UK attendance at Brighton, InCarnation yesterday. Glorious day, and even better to catch up with faces not seen for 3 years!
-
In that case I'd go 10.5 and not really be prepared to move too much unless the deal benefited you in some way. I'd also be looking to refit a standard exhaust system and sell the motor dyne separately as that's where you'll really make your money back. Only real Nissan / 350z enthusiasts will appreciate just how special that exhaust is

One thing that really helps HRs achieve good money is whether the owner can answer if repair has been done, that being the gallery gaskets and clutch slave cylinder. Both are weak spots on HRs which can incur large repair bills and two areas I'd be quizzing the seller on. IMO, without these done around 8K. With these done, solid 10.5 grand is what I would put that up for

You Sir are deducted 10 Z points for being a diddly iddly doofus! This is your first offence, don't let it happen again! 😉

Are you 100% sure on that? I've owned my Nismo for two years now and have never once noticed another reservoir? And I've never had any issues with just topping up and the rear working? Genuinely intrigued
-
That very car had an extensive Facebook post about it, and PaulT on here managed to find pictures of the accident damage which looked extensive. The last couple years we've started doing bodywork repairs at my place, everything from minor bumps to insurance jobs, and one thing I can say is there will always be unexpected damage and repairs needed. This particular vehicle was also written off the by the insurance company, I wouldn't touch it with yours personally

Sitting pretty with my work colleagues F Type. Not going to lie I'm very temped to change for one of these

Invidia Gemini exhaust for a 370z?
-
Before you purchase seats, have you 100% confirmed you have the wiring in place to make the seats electric, and heated? I'd be very surprised its there as I wasn't aware of the Nismos coming with this option. The last thing you want is going to install them and there being no plugs to work...

INCARNATION Brighton Saturday 23rd April 2022
Olly350z replied to andy james's topic in Local Meets Across The UK
Count me in, moved a few weekends round at work so am now free. I can't edit the list, Samsungs latest Internet update means the forum freaks out everytime I try to put in another paragraph! -
I want to do this on my Nismo. Looks an OEM setup there and it's peace of mind keeping an eye on oil pressure
-
Invidia Gemini or Ark Grip V2 is the best option if you want subtle, amazing sounding exhaust systems. I also have short tails and while they fill the gap, one of those two are definitely on my purchase list for the future
