  1. they did in small numbers on previous gen I think
  2. Itll probably similar price from £26,000-£35,000.... Each to their own. More screens, loss of buttons, and more refinement for more money. Everyone's different im either going cheap end £900 runaround or if im spending £40k probably something more upmarket and sporty new Z or full Electric like Model 3. Its functional does a job but so does a 17 Civic at half the price.....albeit slightly noisier Civic with thinner doors and more road noise. Each to their own. I suppose its a mid range semi luxury a to b car. Where a Civic would be seen as a mid range a to b with a few gadgets who dont want or need the premium or the problems a Golf would bring. Also people with families who dont want an SUV have another option too. The Mark 5-7.5 were good cars. I was tempted by the R 7.5.... But I thought Id get something more specific for the money. As time passes that may translate into Electric or a Golf.... Especially when reality kicks in and its no longer viable to drive Zeds or afford a Cayman GTS, GT4 for longer than a year lol....
  3. First time I bought a Nismo I waited 4 months for an ex demo to come up. That one was fresh and had tramlining issues. The second one I bought through Nissan at distance and should really have rejected it due to shoddy bodywork I had it in the bodyshop in the first week. I left them a tasty review for all to see and didnt want any help from the dealer (Nissan Bury) . They had budget Nexen tires at the front and worn michelins PS at the back. Brakes needed doing after 2500 miles Id say be patient and wait for a good example to come up. Theres a black one for sale 11k miles at Nissan London West. Also test drive thoroughly, brake over uneven surfaces make sure car is not tramlining. Its a hard ride so make sure youre okay with that. Check brake pads using a small mirror and torch. Just check the car thoroughly. Clutch can be an issue on these cars too Current car drives straight no issues... Either way I cant expect to get more than £20,000. A rare car only 1 or 2 people might buy.... Worth waiting for one you're happy with.
  4. Lol safe and conservative. Blend in and stay blended. Wolfsburg's finest Trust me Golf owners are not interested in road presence.
  5. Apparently according to post I saw on another forum pre-production test cars start production in Arizona from end of September. Theyve been using a 370Z as a shell and a Supra as benchmark. Im sure as time goes on theyll have other cars to run against. So camo cars will probably be around from Winter/Spring next year. Id like them to test against other cars like TTRS and M2 Competition. TTRS being the fastest in this segment to 60. If they do produce a Nismo that will be the benchmark for sure That GuillamleRouge guy also rendered the interior below. Which he admitted was just a project before the teaser was revealed I think this blue render is the closest due to the bonnet, rear end and roof lines
  6. Might be on your own there lol... Plus someone else can easily beat me to it
  7. I'm more interested in the interior. Hopefully theyll keep it clean and simple. Im sure another teaser will be shown in the next few months. I think they will use better materials judging by the other models. Since the Z doesn't look anything like their signature cars might be given a plusher and more stylish interior. Unfortunately its a guarantee looks wont impress everybody. Either way lets see what the specs are and full reveal
  8. Render from Japanese mag. If anything that looks like a Nismo or Nismo parts with the vents. The rear lights im not sure but its possible with the new LEDS. I dont mind some 300ZX design at the back. I think clear glass at the back with those lights would be cool. The Rims not sure why theyd render the current wheels. Hope Nissan come up with better designs leaning towards Judd and rohana designs. Im sure rays can do something good
  9. I hope its not as fat as this. Hell no to Merc grill Hope its slimmer like the 240Z. This looks like F type, Mondeo and Aston V8 all in one. Hope the Autoguide render is the closest with some alterations
  10. lol ive been cruising since Boris said you could go further out for exercise. Making videos and stuff. I sometimes head that way towards Twickenham.
  11. welcome mate. At last someone not all the way in Kent or Essex. Im in Northolt. Got a white 370Z Nismo. Had a 350Z back in 2016.
  12. should be offered in manual i find rear wheel drive paddle shift a bit off except on the M3 E92. That thing sounds crazy with a Meisterschaft GTC. Someone actually did a manual conversion wonder how much it cost This where Nissan can capitalise. Slightly more power, manual, possible twin turbo, fully Japanese potentially unless an auto gear box comes from Mercedes. Potential is there
  13. Mercedes probably with their 9 Speed Auto I reckon
  14. Going retro style means simpler, cleaner lines I think. The same will be probably apply to the interior. Headlights, rear lights, colors, wheels and placement of the badges will probably be the only real things to set it apart. Itll have more of a hatchback or f type look. I dont think this bulky render is the one lol. These are my preferences. From Autoguide
  15. Rear lights? I think theyll be similar to 300zx but more led based. Center console, Id like something cleaner Rear arches im not sure. I think theyll be similar to the render more rounded than flared.
  16. Guess thats why my brother wants told hold onto his Supra. Hoping it will one day at least cost as much as £30-40,000. Same as the manual Supras
  17. I think Autoguides render is the most accurate so far. Time will tell subject to designers changes again im still questioning the roof line being similar to the 370 the video. The render attempts to add curvature and mirrors on the door. I dont think Nissan will take the path with the mirrors and curved roofline. We will see... Matt Maran reckons Nissan will call it Z400. Hopefully not. I think it should just be Z in Europe and Fairlady Z in Japan. Time will tell
  18. The roof line in the video has minimal curvature. Where that render doesn't This one has the mirror on the door which is highly unlikely design and would probably be where that render has the mirror. In terms of Nismo they have a 5 year window with this model so hopefully will come in from the 2nd year. It might not happen if demand isnt high enough Im now interested to see the interior. If its using a slim dash design like the 240Z and cleaner center console with circular vents and a bigger screen with dials or BRZ type switches for AC only. It has to be good software or it wont work. They should also include track timer app using GPS there instead of trying to include a timer in the dash. I also dont see why the Ariya wont come to UK. Its said to be similar to the Leaf but in SUV format. Other models in video were Qashqai, Note, Pulsar, Navarra which will probably now be made in Sunderland. The Z however probably depends on initial demand in numbers then some consistency after. UK possibly but Europe might be the issue.
  19. Clio V6 used to 15k wth lol I think Z4M as well What the deal with the A1. Is that the first model year?
  20. Appreciate that @Umster I'm optimistic yet Im open to changes in circumstances as anything can happen in the future. I suppose since the teaser trailer, its done a bit to reassure people thats its not completely dead in the water In no way is this an I told you so or finger pointing. Either way despite wanting a new car, I too had slight doubt towards the end. We all want something to look forward to after 11 years. It may not be to all 35,000 members liking but im hoping even if only 100 people take interest and buy it we will still show enthusiasm and encourage future products. Now its just onto the future and better news. I hope when the time comes people will register their interest in high numbers and sway Nissan to bring it here or at least import orders like some countries in EU do.
  21. Spoke to someone who used to work for Nissan, knew the execs and has been to Japan HQ and factories in Yokohama, Sunderland etc. He knew Hiroshi Tamura and Alfonso Albaisa He told me there was no R36 but there will be a Z unveiled in 2020 as far back as Jan 2019. Obviously like many people I didnt believe him a 100%. Especially regarding the R36. The Z no one would have believed it anyway.... I believe its down to Albaisa and not many others who would lean towards EV and SUV. Ive discussed this making the Z the halo car for the next 5 years with a couple of mates. While only one or two agree its the best course considering the climate. Its more realistic that people would buy a car at £45-£50,000 than at £100,000 which would be the most likely price of an R36. Also the cost to develop a new GTR from scratch would cost an arm. Thats why its imperative to make it (Z) the best bang for buck possible. Since people will miss the GTR. Different markets yes but it is what it is. Compromise for GTR fans would be All wheel drive, more power and DCT in the Z. Whether people would settle for that instead I dont know The Zed is said to be a very heavy facelift hence cheaper development cost over a totally new program. New rear quarter panels sawed, new front bumper, new headlights/rear lights and grill, front fenders, light and narrowframe, lower body, new rear bumper and diffuser area. As opposed to a totally new build from scratch is more realistic. Time will tell but its not 100% wrong It even make sense for them to test the current 370Z with a new engine/ hybrid engine right now before testing it in a newer updated chassis A totally new program? Id say 60% chance of launch. A heavy facelift increases chances of a go ahead like a begrudging compromise from a previous idea of a totally new car. Tamura sounded like they had some ideas for the R36 on his visit to UK over 2 years ago. He was restricted in what he could say. The Nissan Next 18 month program has no R36 which means its on hold at least for now. It means my "source" was right back in January 2019. At best GTR will get a seperate reveal at a later date down the line I believe the car will retain some 370 DNA. Again Time will tell. So maybe best to do what we all did 18 and 2 months ago. Reconvene when a lot more solid info and a reveal has come to light! ps: I agree everyones entitled to their opinions and cynism tbh. Lets wait and see I say.
