2020 Toyota Supra Fatal Crash Maryland, USA
GranTurismoEra replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Other Cars
No regard for anyone else. Social media clout chasing. Im always looking when approaching junctions -
Lethal stuff.....

Tawk mate, Tawwk....

Carbon Fiber is the new focus apparently. Lots of investment going into that area. Not sure a new gearbox is priority. If that's the case it will probably be the GTR transmission. Pricier Auto version. 3.9 seconds pay up!
-
from the videos ive seen without being mapped they are a tiny bit laggy. The only time ive heard of a manual being better than the auto was in the M2 but that was hearsay. Ive never driven a GTR so cant comment on the Auto in that. But the 370 has used the 7 speed Jatco Transmission for over a decade. I rather they use the C63 or 9 speed Auto in the Mercedes C class than the Jatco. Just not sure how reliable they are, but they are more up to date. Theyll need to build a DCT gearbox Possibly that can handle the power safely

They need a new Auto in this car. 13 year old gearbox lol. In the new Juke they changed to DCT from CVT. So they need to update this. Doesn't bother me as manual is my preference. As the salesman once said when I asked about Automatic in the Nismo. Just drive manual mannn. Auto is more expensive but the auto is outdated lol. What are people really paying for?

The world of Turbo..... wheezing, wooshing and heavy breathing. Then again it sounded NA
-
half a second faster 4.5 seconds on the auto. Should be around 4 seconds this time for the auto. Once Litchfield get their hands on it different beast. I think it will be DCT this time. No more Jatco or standard laggy auto

Lol its more for the people who feel they need an auto because they usually sit in traffic. Manual causes the Long term effects of a strong left foot you now cant use for braking lool. As long as you dont kick anyone with the left foot youre good

2020 Toyota Supra Fatal Crash Maryland, USA

Apparently under the influence and ran a red light. The innocents injured were going home from work. One of them is currently paralyzed. The car was taken without consent, the owner claims. A real shame, its the innocent guys I feel sorry for -
Previously suspected a 50/50 chance of live/cgi reveal. I can safely say it most likely be a live viewing at the New Yokohama Pavilion with video footage of it on the move being driven on a road. Interior and Exterior footage and good old presentation! Physical car exists in the flesh as a prototype. Makes me think the car was built a while ago. Happy days

You remember the older e46 bmw 3 series with the option to change gear on the shifter i.e the 328ci etc. Usually up - forward and down backwards. In certain cars it would be reversed for shift up backwards etc which is even better Like a short shift sequential shifter. Its the old German auto style before paddle shifts were a thing. That involved foot on the brake then moving the gear lever to the side where the +/- is. When on the move you dont need to do much except shift the gear lever an inch with the tip of your fingers In the old mercs it was usually left or right. A bit weird, for the country lanes. My mates 4 series had it as he didnt have paddle shifters, not the Sport version.

Manual box wasn't an issue all along. Tried and tested at Arizona Proving Grounds and tested at SEMA. Putting some of that investment to good use. I never drive with the synchro rev off anyway. Short shifter too. I think for the Auto they should offer both paddle shift and tip tronic. It will probably be kept simpler Needs a serious exhaust. It won't sound as glorious as a VQ but we,ll get the pops, farts and bangs. Might be better of staying stock!

This ones gathering pace on social media. A young girl died in an apparently stolen 2020 Toyota Supra after it crashed on an intersection and came to rest next to an electric pole caved in on passenger side and collided with 2 cars. 3 family men are injured but survived. Another One has apparently died and another paralyzed. Two of the men in the same car had the front of their car cut in half with their dash gone. She previously got caught and charged with DUI, gun possession and was couple of days from court. I believe it was always going to end badly. She was already facing suspension from driving. The Supra driver and her boyfriend both died after it crashed at 120 mph in a 35 mph zone, shortly after she posted bragging on social media how shes going to "kill it". I also chatted with someone who crashed doing similar speeds going through a red in the Z but survived. He will need a large screws in his hip for the rest of his life. Unfortunately the video is graphic so if you want to see what happened Youtube "Supra Maryland Crash". This video is the aftermath.

lol white dials like Type R....wow hope not. Was great 10 15 years ago. Digital dash not synonymous with Nissan tbh. Would be nice to get a virtual cockpit but id say 45% chance Judging by the previous trailer in which they showed a 280zx/300zx z31 digital dash...theres still a good chance. Can a digital dash be considered retro i suppose depends on the style. Any IBM AS400 looking font is retro

I have to say I had a bit hope when the interior of the Juke was shown late last year. Nissan really stepped up their game. I hope they can go one further with this car. Since they did with the Ariya. Just need functional and good looking. Not necessarily snazzy and techy like the Ariya

Just a week left till unveil, we more or less know what to expect with the exterior. Just waiting to see what theyve done on the interior. Im guessing stitched look high positioned slim line dash. 6-7 inch touch screen with gauge pods on top possibly a different style. Its possible theyve integrated AC controls into the infotainment system. Hopefully not Im hoping for 4 circular vents. I'm guessing that may not be the case. Ambient lighting I doubt it. Leather seats, Leather gear knob, Leather steering wheel. Matte look leather in some places. Hoping for some contrast on the interior so it doesn't look too dull. Leather knee pads or Alcantara Hopefully you can select the stitch colour on seats and steering wheel and dash. Why am I thinking interior could be make or break as well as design of the lights and back of the car

Going for the GT or more mature look

This is based on test cars that have been spotted.

No match this time. Ones a wide 4 rectangular neon style tubes at the back and a spherical shape lamp at the front. Maybe they should go with a single lens similar to the current Zed and have an SL Mercedes day time running diagonally above and around it. Change the lamp at the front. That way you have wider lamp at the front to try match the rear. Tbh thats virtually the same as the 370 and many werent fans of that light design.
