  1. Im in I.T too, so im all for tech in the right places and within reason. Hence im not completely opposed to Electric cars but they have their flaws. Its just technology for the sake of being edgy and cool. The summon feature was probably thought about by some teenager 30 years ago. Someone just thought lets do it now the car can read traffic lights and signs as well as detect covert pedestrians. Technology gives people the license to do dangerous things like this. Being in the US its probably a 1 hour cross county lines journey he/she slept through.
  2. Death of the town center? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/article-8830815/Birminghams-Clean-Air-Zone-live-1-June-2021.html
  3. Very dangerous combo rear wheel and bad weather. It probably aquaplaned changing lanes. Could be an uneven bit of road. In the dry there would probably be no story here as the car tends to skip on stock suspension and twitch but regain itself. Hope they are okay and fortunately others managed to stop in time. They shouldn't lose faith as its not a common occurrence with the 370s
  4. I have a local indie that services my CRZ and AA Approved and all the good certs....Ive taken my Nissan to him for interim oil changes £20 labour and sometimes hes like just pay for the oil+ filter... sometimes i get a discount from him....using only Nissan approved OEM items...i could do it myself but i prefer a qualified person with a ramp lol.
  5. Lol I hear you but you need to remember not all buyers are that way inclined. A lot of buyers come from other manufacturers like the Germans and prefer full dealer history. Whereas people who have been on the mod scene are very versed with Specialist garages and independents. The average joe on the street would assume non dealer history is your mate doing DIY on the car. Some may think yes its serviced but hasn't undergone a 70 point checklist as standard. Things may have been missed. While a specialist could tell you why you have serious brake judder but a manufacturer may need to hire a specialist disc skimmer. There are pros and cons....I know Abbey. Id take an older 370 or 350 to them. Ive been there recently for brakes as I needed uprated pads and better discs than standard. Also had that judder issue and my calipers needed repainting. Left the painting for now though. So indies have their pros and cons Not slating them at all as service was top and hes a knowledgeable guy...been in the game decades...id definitely take my car to get work done from a specialist.....but there are pros and cons anywhere you go. The cars only 4 years old with 4 services so far. If youre never selling or giving the car to a fellow enthusiast then indies or diy all the way.
  6. Does the Taycan have this half baked feature? Apparently they blocked it in the EU. Then people thought they could be smart by using remote desktop feature with 2 phones. It got patched straight away. Thanks to social media. It never fully worked anyway A summon feature is people trying to run before they can walk.
  7. Its possible to hit 70mph in central lol maybe for a second. You risk getting 6 pointer if seen by police lol....Just not worth the risk. Im assuming these Noise detection cameras are listening out for any car producing just over the idle limit for EU of around 74 decibels i think. Cruising at 30mph in 4th gear can produce 80db..maybe the limit is around 85 decibels...so in most cars you shouldn't be gunning it in 2nd gear over 20mph lol....how does that apply to a stock Aventador!
  8. Central London, go there once a year if that. They should keep those cameras in central...We love hearing screaming bikes and v6, v8, v10 and v12 around here
  9. For anyone looking at electric dont be fooled by badges. The Kia Niro my mum got was car of the year and got very good reviews. I think its a Hyundai power plant too. Tesla realise their unique selling point has to shift from I got the first Electric that does.....to we have the best range.....its becoming tougher for them to have that USP. The guys always looking for new ways to adjust the usp on his cars The used prices are about right. But you could also get a Tesla Model 3 2020 performance for around 50k. That will offer great performance and range. Used prices of the marquees will remain good. Due to competition Tesla are driving in new refresh on the model 3 and S and a new smaller car they claim will cost £25,000 new I expect this to be a common theme in the future with more competition lower priced EVs will be a thing. The Taycan 4S or any entry level models will remain where they are youre right. If Musk must go for volume he should hover around the 20-50k area. Anything above that may see people going for the bigger brands like Porsche as time goes on. Now theyve arrived
  10. Yeah thats the model my brother test drove but he wanted a 5 seater and felt it was a bit early in the lifecycle....Model Y will be around £40,000 apparently its smaller than the X
  11. hahaha....North West London... its all finance and amazing credit. Makes dreams come true. If you can pay anything up to £3000 per month the possibilities Lots of people around here put it as a business expense hence high amount of Trucks and SUVs Not many cars you dont see no need to go to central. Ive seen F12, GTR Nismo, GTR, huracans, mclarens 911 Turbo S.... Theres a Bugatti Veyron in Wembley....also Topaz is local so you get GT2RS and co passing by on the 406 These are the local guys see them regularly. They live in the hills lol Huge amount of Teslas, Kia Niros, Leafs etc around here too. Then you see a 370 or 350 and its breaking necks dont forget car rental is up since lockdown and many people have friends in that area.
  12. Seen a few. Not much difference from a Panamera. Theyre okay. Think my brother still wants one but model x will have to do for now. One or two people have had issues with theirs having to return to dealers. Nothing Porsche cant fix right...
  13. They want £435 for a 30,000 mile service. Seems a bit steep. Maybe these are London prices. Service while you wait I can only think Spark plugs and gearbox oil may be changed or I may end up paying less if those dont need doing. Couldn't get through to London West RRG...Phone lines are crap. Any ideas? As theyre the only HPCs i can see around here
  14. Yes for sure, things are up and down. Not sure how long I can keep the car. But hopefully soon. Im in North West London. Where are you based?
  15. that me, changing name constantly. Lol....bought another 370 nismo November last year. Drove it almost everyday during lockdown
  16. lol what the ZED should be minus the V8. A 2+2 V8 is not a bad thing for a GT version. What a shame it never reached the market. Still needs an exhaust to open it up though
  17. Was it originally a V8? Could be a 800 hp dual motor 130k Warp speed
  18. Maserati wow...Love that look. Concept is nice.
  19. So far what do we know about import possibilities and who car reliably source a car. I think id wait over a year or two for depreciation to occur and bag one at an ambitious £30k with 20,000 miles maybe. Obviously shipping would be a container as you dont want pirates getting their grubby hands on the merchandise. What are the costs involved for shipping plus UK conversion of lights/SVA This is just for general knowledge really things can change. My only experience of import was my moms ML320 V6 from US. Roll on Roll Off costs were around £2500 I think.
  20. According to the business update from early in the year they want to refresh models every 3.5-4 years as opposed to 10 years. It may be a facelift but they need a different approach to counter low sales in this segment. Toyota are looking to end the current Supra by 2024-2025 with the GRM version.
  21. I think we should steer the discussion onto import possibilities and the chances of a late introduction into the UK. Like the Philippines who only got the car this year. Only thing is I dont think this model will last longer than 5 years due to platform changes towards petrol hybrid and electric.
  22. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/hyundai-eyeing-electric-hot-hatchback-with-rwd-prototype-packs-800-hp-149282.html Impressive figures. Under 3 seconds acceleration They just need to add some gearing and sound and walla Hyundai plan to release 44 eco friendly models in future. A hard sell for enthusiasts but what if this is the new theme. Borderline criminal power and performance for normal car prices
  23. Then they may be taken more seriously....They would probably tout it as a Z replacement. Since Z is heading towards a certain death. It would cost £50,000 - £80,000 at the moment due to the dual 120kwh batteries and 3.4 sec launch Its a research car for Formula E and future E Sports cars. Which may come to Europe. They are better off making a four door version for entry and selling to families since 5 SUVs aren't enough The Leaf sports car may become a reality. The people who care about Z probably would only want one as a toy and not a serious weekend car
