  1. It is what it is but thats just my opinion. The last generation was NA nothing wrong with that as that was 2013. The rumours circulating were that it would be a 2.4 with a small turbo since the last one had the torque dip and didnt feel as powerful as the ep3 apparently. Each to their own I guess. Price points not much difference. Brand new 86 is around 30k depending where you go without the obligatory 4-8k discount some dealers are offering on demos and new cars. Like I said before depends what you want. If a dealer are offering the same 86 with 1000 miles and 6k off thats a different convo to a GR Yaris. Circuit pack isnt a must as you could get a basic one and mod it years later if youre not tracking it. Just like Nismo isn't a must on the 370.... I get it, different strokes for different folks. Its not about comparing sizes its what youre getting for the money paid.
  2. GR Yaris is faster than the Type R thanks to all wheel drive at 1200kg and can run borderline 14 seconds quarter mile. Apparently can be mapped to run a bit better Depends what you want out of a car. Personally I wouldn't spend 30k on the 86.....i dont feel its worth more than 24k at best. So used approved it is. The GR Yaris is more bang for buck in terms of what youre getting. its a smaller engine but the suspension, drive systems and R and D make up for it hence price. NA visceral type experience ive already got a 370 its just on the heavy side....not an easy car to recover if you lose footing....compared with the lighter 86. The 86 has its advantages
  3. With my CRZ needs to be very powerful diesel to getaway. Around 240+ hp due to extra weight and turbo lag. Thats why a Turbo wouldn't hurt a BRZ. Times have moved on from NA. Realistically how much longer can they make NA in EU with the 86. Most likely the last generation. They will have to look at Hybrid alternatives similar to the ISF Lexus or exclude it from EU. It would only add a few horses but make it more driveable especially in town at lower speeds without burning all the petrol accelerating from lights. Have remember competition and what people are getting for £28,000-£33,000 pounds
  4. Taycan and 8 Series have good modern designs.
  5. Lets see what Toyoda does in coming months. That should do well and glad to see many of them on the road still. Shame about the power. At least do a TRD version with as much power as Hyundai 276 hp and turbo charged...for EU. Thats asking a lot and changes the characteristics of the car
  6. While i might try an electric or automatic in future when im 55-75....im happy with petrol and petrol hybrid. No rush.
  7. MC Hammer went broke from holes in those pockets. Well its a good case for Aston Martin and co to set up dealership networks outside Europe. There is a huge market believe it or not in US, Africa and Asia. These guys pay cash too. I guess those guys are not fans of Greta and the gang.

  9. worded that wrong. What I meant was the telematic box to track you and how many miles covered. Its ok for classic cars to be exempt. People have paid for them lol
  10. https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1369318/car-tax-changes-classic-car-uk-owners-electric-vehicle-pay-per-mile “Any taxation scheme should serve to deter long term petrol/ diesel uptake and help the population move towards greener solutions.” "Pay per mile systems will force drivers to install telematics black box devices inside their cars to monitor how many miles drivers have covered." Haha, kindly p*** off..... Classic cars remain exempt hmm. Long term EV exemption isnt sustainable. No sheet ...
  11. "power =! fun" - Famous quote All you hear these days. I always thought lightweight + handling was better than outright power and struggling for traction. I saw a guy Nismo Fairlady on youtube keeping up with some serious cars in his modified Nismo. I hear people talking about going 700-1000hp. If youre not drag racing at Santa Pod what is the benefit with all the undercover traffic cops and cameras around. A youtuber Dmo deejay has an E63s with 800+ hp and he regularly hits speeds of 140mph on the motorway. I never understood the obsession with power. Nowadays even the stock 17 GTR isn't considered quick enough anymore. 911 turbo s is fast. Sooner or later it will be considered average fast. I know turbo guys arent bothered about red lines and sound. Just the thrill of boosting and torque numbers. Each to their own I guess.
  12. Ha, each to their own. Ill be popping and banging as I stop next door at the real Ace Cafe for a fill up. Incentives to buy diesel or hybrid petrol as I have. We all know the government scams to get people mobile again until the next revenue raising opportunity arises. It may not be 3D TV but a simple solution is to move to the countryside or badlands in order to keep your way of life. Its okay since I visit London once or twice a year its not the end of the world. Ill just borrow my moms Kia Niro or Brothers Model X. Could take a train at the risk of being tackled to the ground for not having a mask over my nose. A vegan E cafe library while you charge. Maybe they want an Utopia only fit for Hybrid personalities and forward thinkers. We as petrolheads will need to be outside city walls with the travellers and Nomads.
  13. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/dec/07/uk-first-all-electric-car-charging-forecourt-opens-in-essex Great business plan. I hope the government will at least collect their VAT, corporate taxes and extras just as they do with Gasoline.
  14. Will do, just a dream right now. Plus brand new looking like £45- £50,000. Thats why its worth waiting as long as it takes.
  15. Id say goodluck in whatever you choose. Who do you think is paying for smooth quiet roads to enjoy 'EV' and the soft suspension....Thats when they decide to fix the roads EV drivers will soon become cash cows to equalize the losses in Road Tax. Imagine 50% drop in road tax due to huge uptake in ev...No longer cheap motoring... Introduction of per mile toll for all cars. Another stealth tax to recover the economy. Easiest way from government to make money is delay the ban on petrol and diesel by 5-10 years. EV will result in loss of VED revenue. Start taxing EVs id say. Force manufacturers to look at making Electric cars sub £30,000.
  16. Hopefully by February March we will get specs and price. Enjoying the Nismo for another year. Other cars I can consider later down the line. Ill probably put on another 6,000 miles by November when the new Z is out. If There is a car in Japan for around £35000 and under it may be worth a look. Ill be saving up just incase one appears at a reasonable price 12 months after release. Since the Z may become a hybrid one day under a new platform. I think its the last opportunity to get a pure petrol Z
  17. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry-news/aston-martin-offer-combustion-engines-beyond-2030 Support Manufacturers offering alternatives. Tbh I think they will veer off into these synthetic fuels. Better than nothing
  18. https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/tech/what-is-synthetic-fuel-efuel/ Alternative fuel is the answer. Choice is better for the environment. We need a balance. Companies like Shell and co should be pushing for this in the fight against what could essentially kill their business in Europe and America.
  19. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/dec/02/aston-martin-pr-firm-anti-electric-vehicle-study Interesting. Aston Martin RIP 2030 unless Hybrid Petrol
  20. while the govt should support businesses like these too....im only going to rate a company that looks into alternative fuel. Apparently a truck of hand sanitizers caught fire and exploded into a ball of strong Hollywood type flames in Cambridge. If that isnt proof there are possibilities I dont know what is. Alcohol, Spirits, Ethanol and Methanol are alternatives. Just getting them under control and the hardware to go with it.
  21. i think they will be around £45,000 so not many. After a year they depreciate in japan knocking at least £10k off so we,ll see. The nismo does the job so no desperation or eagerness to get one. The current car is still unfamiliar to public anyway and nismo looks better

  23. https://www.teslarati.com/porsche-taycan-hydrogen-synthetic-fuel-program/ Porsche guy is right.....why not fuel and Electric ie hybrid. Cleaner fuel.
