Nice write up about EV experience in an E Golf
GranTurismoEra replied to stanski's topic in Other Cars
LOL youll have to stop at some point for longer than 5 minutes. The time it takes to get from the car at the back of the busy motorway services to the toilet. Possibly pick up a coffee or magazine to read at the next stop when the little one really needs to go because they thought they didnt need to go during the petrol stop. Okay it might not be as long as 30 minute break to charge though. But offset that with putting another 40 pounds in for fuel. A trade off maybe lol -
You serious bro?

The new Peugeot 508 interior would have you feeling at home @Umster they pulled out all the stops Old Micras are okay. The new ones not so much. Awful cars. Not a patch on the Honda Jazz back on topic, being on YouTube seeing all these 50-60k sports cars like the alpine, supra, m2, z4. Cant help but think theres an opportunity to upset the bunch if done right.

Hence the Honda E. Shame about the range. But it makes sense to at least style it properly. Model 3 isnt a bad looker but a bit familiar now. On another note people want more power in the Z. I thought what the 370 Nismo does really well is launch from a stand still in the dry compared with the more powerful M4 which usually struggles for traction. After seeing Living Life Fast 720 hp M4. I think any future Z would need to either be moderate on power no more than 400 bhp or All Wheel Drive Also if you make it AWD you lose the fun aspect. If you make it a rear biased AWD or switchable like the M5 then youre onto something. Shame that would increase the cost of the car. Putting the power down on rear wheel drive especially a 400hp car hmm

Nismo Micra, Nismo Leaf worth every penny

Stang eh, nice car. 5 liter v8. Sounds glorious. They will only ban the sale of new petrol engines with high displacement or emissions. And maybe from inner cities. Just move to the sticks.

30k?? lol I cant see it. I can see a 30k 4 pot. I mean how much is a new 370Z £35,000-£37000 with dealer discount. We are talking about a new car on a new production line that is cheaper than the current model with a more expensive twin turbo engine. If you say no trims just one configuration at £30,000 - £34,000 new with a twin turbo v6 you may sell a lot but the profit margin looks low unless youre using cheaper materials or collaborating with Mercedes/Renault The cheapest Z4 2 liter is £35,000 with M sport £36,000 with basic trim. Used are around 30k They expect 70% of sales to be the 2 liter 20i and 30i. A brand new 6 cylinder at £30-£40,000 is unlikely now Nissan have got their GTR in good spot. They probably want to command big money. Unless they take a leaf from Mazda and have a pricing strategy. Also bare bones like the current Nismo. No adaptive suspension, no driving modes, similar features to what you have now. Are you adding or taking anything away? Are you only thinking of a basic track pack what about those that want a GT cruiser with creature comforts and not a Nismo what features do they get. Nothing? then less sales as rivals offer more. With Mx-5 im struggling to think of direct rivals aside from a TT roadster thats 17k more? Fiat 124 donor car discontinued in UK....Not much else. Car sells itself pretty much. Also Mazda after sales service is apparently good.

Thats the problem with Nissan they feel they can now charge £85,000 Premium, Nismo £170,000 and £1,000,000 for GtR-50 because they have built a fanbase on the GTR brand. I think the whole undercutting thing has gone especially with Honda charging upper 30s for their HRV/CRV and 150k+ for the NSX I think those days are truly gone. I think Nissans premium cars will command similar to the Germans. The next GTR if there is one I can see Nissan slapping £100,000 on it. So it makes sense for any new car to command at least £50,000 unless they wish to go down the cheap and cheerful route and throw a Mercedes 4 pot turbo in there at £30,000 but then something would be lacking....just like the A35 at 300hp or they can offer trims for 2 liter (300hp) an alternative to buying a hatchback with a 2 + 2 maybe, 3 liter (400hp) shorter wheel base GT, 3 liter (475) hp Nismo etc which is another option most people arent a fan of as it dilutes the Z line. The demand is the issue. But hey the MX5 sold 30,000 ND so far in 2 years. Difference is price is down in the 20s. How many units can you sell at 30k plus? would you buy a lightweight 4 banger turbo Z say 1300kg?........for a small market especially in EU is it worth the effort. USA though is a different fish. 4 pot supras apparently are going to asia market Lol all sounds good but you need to bring a concept or concepts and judge feedback/interest on that as Toyota, Honda etc have done with their new or upcoming releases.

got a better leak than that lol, thats an old render from 2 years back. The render I found was from Japan recently and closely resembles the new Juke in terms of front/rear lights. The rear lights have a slightly edgier design. If they do go ahead the lights will resemble the new Juke front and rear. They are going with LEDs on the new Juke. Also if they did make one it would cost as much as the Supra, Alpine and Z4 M40i at £50,000 which is much more than most people are willing to pay. Also are Nissan content to sell only 2000 cars per annum in EU with a decline? like Alpine in 2018 im not so sure Hybrid would be similar to the Q60 black s concept making it too expensive for this market. Pushing it to Cayman territory New turbo cars are being tuned with more linear power delivery. So going turbo is not the end of the world lol Wait for Tokyo motorshow I guess. If nothing is mentioned there then thats that for now. highly unlikely to see a new Z there but you never know. Fingers crossed!

Yeah we discussed that in the past, Nismo is a special car not without issues. The Japanese arent doing as much right now in terms of mid range performance cars so its good to keep an open mind outside of Japanese unless the good stuff like GTR, LC 500 is in range then sure. The chief designer for Nissan is occupied opening new offices and doing work on the new Juke. If nothing comes at the Tokyo motorshow I doubt therell be a new Z anytime soon. So in meantime there are other cars.

Its a forum, hence the discussion! Youve got your favourite Chris Harris for that! Its not just about what to buy. Its also to get general opinions on new car models on the market some of which are unattainable for me. Its an automotive forum. Discussions are part and parcel of it. Sorry for being too active ill kick back from now on!

I suppose its worth waiting for the top spec to come down a bit as in a used one. The trims are cheaper and more equipped than the rivals apart from the MX5, Fiat 124 etc. In my opinion the MX5 is selling well for the current climate and popular due to affordability and spec (26,000) in 2017 in US and EU. (21,000) in 2018. Good figures for today The Mercedes and Audi equivalents cost a bit more specced up. Probably less involving drive. I suppose 70% of people that buy would buy the 20i. Ideally the 40i is the one to go for with the b58. Apparently the 20i is lighter to make up for less power.
-
Spoke to one Cayman GTS owner who said the MX5 is the best sports car at the moment. I think it can only accommodate people who are 5'11 or less
-
Still not seen any on the road. Ive seen it in the flesh. Its quite wide. Its growing on me. The back definitely looks better than the front. The 4 pot sounds decent. Apparently the base 2 liter isnt powerful enough for some. I dont think the 40i justifies the extra 10-20k. But its much quicker. Not as quick as the Supra which some say has 370hp stock. Im not a fan of electric steering I prefer hydraulic. What you guy think? prices are from £30k upwards, but some ex demo Z40i with few miles are around £40,000. At that price with all the tech hmm. Then again how many 2 seaters are selling right now lol. I see further price drops.

yea had lots of negativity with the 350Z. Boyracers which ive had to tell off sternly for driving like tits around me. Had old ladies playacting and being dramatic, people driving on the opposite side of the road to prove a point and overtake. Try to ignore them. Dont give them the attention they are seeking. With the Nismo the kids appreciated it more. So no issues there. Give them a thumbs up or a rev. So not all bad. Also found people are more likely to try and start something by tailgaiting or behaving erratically. I had a guy tailgating in a Golf GTi obviously remapped. I gave him the dirtiest look when he pulled up beside me. Just do you, dont get out the car. It may be that you need to pull over and let them **** off and you can get back to driving in peace. Ive had to do this a few times. For some reason they just sit there till I wave then past.

Coming Back to a 370z Nismo

resonated short tails sound better than some full systems -
Winter is the best time and prices are usually lower. Some dealers are forced to lower their prices with cars sitting on their lot for weeks to months. There was a mk1 Nismo with 72,000 miles for 17k sat for 6 months through winter as well as a 370z convertible that was 7 months. I dont think dealers make quick money of these. Most are taken in part exchange probably. Some do get lucky like my old car sold the same weekend it was put up for the same price i bought it 14k miles earlier lol If you can wait its only 3-4 months. Or just keep looking, summers practically over in 4-8 weeks!

2015 370Z Nismo - Sirius Project
GranTurismoEra replied to SiriusProjects's topic in Member Build Projects
white calipers give it a premium look. Black wheels are nice and go well with the calipers. Roof spoiler is a good addition -
The roadtax on post 17 370Z are £140 lol. There have been low mileage 370Z Convertibles sat on Autotrader for few weeks in the past worth waiting for one to come up. Right now they are probably going very quickly.

New member and looking for first 350Z
GranTurismoEra replied to Sergei Dragunov's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
my brother managed to get a lifetime garaged 37,000 mile 2004 350z from Glasgow from a elder guy who owned a few cars including 911. For around £5600. You may have to travel and be patient to find a clean example. Right now a similar car and similar year will set you £7000-£8000 pounds. But its more about who owns it and whats been done to it. Condition over mileage. Fewer owners the better Average price being £6000. But which version are you looking for DE, DE Revup or HR? -
Coming Back to a 370z Nismo

nice although I had this in white. Ive seen black in the flesh with short tails. The complete package for me. Very nice -
Why not vs the Zupra, 718, Alpine, Cayman and M2. Surely worth looking at if it was realistic
-
313 hp vs 276 im sure theres a bit more poke at the top end. The HR gives a GT 370 a good run. Depends how content you are really. Some DE are coming of age now and rust might be an issue. But there are some well taken care of and sealed underneath. 350 is somewhat forgiving on fuel. The 370s are thirstier but can be decent on the motorway on a long run
