  1. Yes you're correct Dan, and I largely agree with your comment about only needing 3 cars. But as the OP asked for 10... I would add though that I would imagine (hope?) that the cars that are similar to each other in my list (e.g. F1, Zonda and F50) still have their own unique character and are different enough to drive that I could enjoy each for what they are. I stand by the MX5 - it's not a question of how capable it is, more that I wouldn't be that put out if I backed it through a hedge (relatively speaking).
  2. I think my list would be something like: Nissan 350z HR, stroked and fully built Audi RS6 Avant Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R Mazda MX5 Supercharged Ferrari F50 McLaren F1 LM Subaru Impreza 22B Pagani Zonda F Clubsport Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 Lotus Carlton The RS6 is for when I need lots of luggage space. The MX5 is the shed to throw around in the wet, because the others are too nice / scary for that. The Lotus Carlton is a bit of a wildcard because I had a few that I couldn't choose from. An F12 is tempting, but they don't come with proper gearboxes.
  3. Zeds aren't really tail happy. As with any RWD car with reasonable grunt though, they will bite you if you drive like a tit.
  4. I'd say the VQ has a pretty decent torque curve IMO... It still goes nicely at 6/10ths. The 86 engine does sweet FA unless you drive it like you're trying to break it.
  5. I forgot to specifically mention the steering of the 86 actually, which is lovely. I'd also add that I think some people are being a bit harsh towards the engine. It needs to be worked very hard to get any joy out of it for sure, but it's not THAT bad. I certainly don't think it's the woeful cement mixer of a powerplant that some are making out.
  6. The ride and handling in an 86 is better sorted than a zed. Not that I think a zed is a bad handling car, just that you can really feel the extra weight over the 86. In every other way I prefer the zed (in fact I don't really prefer the handling in the 86, just that it feels better resolved).
  7. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk You should defo give them a call to get an explanation on how longer gearing would reduce your top speed.
  8. Yep, good job. Not a million miles from the look I've gone / am going for on mine (still want to lower slightly more and can't decide whether to get a front lip or not). Nice and subtle
  9. Nice pics mate. I keep intending to get a decent camera and give it a go myself...
  10. I remember it from GT... wow, 17 years ago, that's crazy! The RB26DETT-powered ZZII was awesome in that also Good to see there are still nice looking examples around. Are you gonna buy it then?!
  11. Would have been £10,000 cheaper a year ago due to the exchange rate... Nice motor though.
  12. Looks pretty good... Nice to see my old rims being put to good use
  13. This is surely just another step towards Skynet *tinfoil hat on*. Lol

I think the pros are limited to satisfying the urge to get a fancy new part for your car I don't think you'll see any performance gain if that's what you're asking.
  15. One of those questions that only you know the answer to. Would be a no from me, but then 370s don't really do it for me.
  16. Some things are best left in the past
  17. I can relate to not wanting stuff that's too nice for fear of breaking it. I was wondering the other day if I'd be better off with a proper shed that was fun to chuck around instead of my zed, as I'd be devastated if I backed the zed through a hedge. All those sexy curves sitting on my driveway make the anxiety worthwhile though
  18. That's a bit hasty. Even the best drivers have bad weekends, and I'm sure Lewis knows better than to dwell on how ****ed off he is.
  19. Now I know that grammar nazis aren't the most popular people on the internet these days, but I'll be damned if that's not a triple negative
  20. Looks lovely. Got lucky with that parking space as well
  21. Perfect excuse to commence a monster FI build IMO.
  22. I'd personally be very careful stretching to buy a car at the bottom end of the price range. What's the plan if something expensive does go wrong?
