  1. Oh yes I'm sure. Had a call from my tech mate who just gave it a once over for the owner. I was just seeing if the owner had signed up on here yet.
  2. Blue with grey Rays in the Basingstoke area.

    VX220

I'm a big elise fan and the vx220 is a corker. Good choice and it sounds fantastic.
  4. Well my old friend is currently looking for a Z . There was no need for heroic speed runs or such malarkey. He had a go in mine and loved the way it felt connected etc.
  5. I normally use a hand held steam cleaner. However this may only spread the stain if it's contaminated with screen wash. A steam clean with plenty of dabbing via absorbant paper towels might work ok.
  6. Well not as bad as the M3 I had by a long shot lol. Go try a Honda though, the best ownership experience ever followed second by (and don't laugh) Ford. The worst have been BMW and VW for things going wrong. The brands I will never touch again are Peugeot and Renault. Ironically Vauxhaull spans the divide with some good experiences and some bad lol. It's just typical really and yes I've been a car owner for nearly 30 years but the annoying thing is the fact I've just paid for a family holiday and won't have a bean to spend on the car until next month. It's been great and as always they let you down at the most inconvenient time
  7. A bad week for the Z. Annoying rattle from the underside when warm looks like a holed cat. Occasional clunk when finishing a reverse manoeuvre and the bannana bar bush has failed on the off side.Add to this the tax is due and it needs a service lol. Only the tax gets done this month and an expensive trip to HD next month by the look if it. Otherwise it drives lovely
  8. I preferred my 330ci over my M3. More reliable for a start
  9. This preoccupation with speed on the road between different cars is a no brainer.I personally buy cars on how they handle and feel behind the wheel, christ we've all had faster and slower cars I'm sure. If you are a competitive type then fill your boots on a track.Leave chat about tenths of a second for that, the reality is that in real world driving it means bugger all I've had more fun wringing the neck out of a small engined car at legal speeds than any of the more powerful ditch finders I've owned.
  10. Last family holiday this year as my boy is 18 in August. Nice apartment booked in Barcelona close to the stadium. He loves barca fc plus my old dear lives a couple of minutes drive away. Looking forward to improving the Z on those long lazy summer afternoons. I can't stand the winter and my mood lifts with every extra minute of daylight
  11. You did well to last 30 years mate. I lost interest in the job in 93 when the Sheehy report started to change things.I managed another 5 years afterwards but it ruined the job. Lost a fair amount of benefits and my supplied accommodation was sold off with all local beat area knowledge moved to divisional stations and the strategic target mentality was born. Also longer shift times etc
  12. I'm an ex surveyor for Shell (geologist) then the police service for 8 years and now a security manager for a national company.
  13. Followed you for a bit between the Odiham bypass and Winchfield this afternoon.
  14. I've noticed similar economy through the M3 roadworks at 50 mph.
  15. Beautiful aircraft. I once knew a guy called Mike Biggs. He's long gone but worked as an aircraft engineer and had plenty of V bomber stories that fascinated me. He started out working with the famous Barnes Wallace and later on a secret project called the swallow. His job was the design of a wing pivot bearing for the swallow which at the time was a prototype swing wing jet. Funding for the project was cut and the design brief sold to the Americans who developed it further. He spent time after that on V bomber components and retired from the air industry having been involved in many innovations including ejector seats etc. I could listen to him speak for hours.
  16. You can't beat a euro bike trip, I did this many years ago and loved it.
  17. I bet old William Shatner is gutted. It's like a real life version of the Wrath of Khan. RIP Spock. Another piece of my childhood fades away.Im a big scifi fan but not a die hard trekker. I always remember old Leonard in mission impossible and thinking he looked odd with normal ears
  18. Nice and clean Winchester road near the Camrose.
  19. I have no issue with proving where I was on the day in question. Office has the latest CCTV monitoring with non cycling digital storage plus I book on to a system called logosoft which keeps a record of my working hours to the second. I've still not heard anything back from the insurer as to what supposedly happened and where. No allegations have been made just a date given.
  20. Yeah there could be a ringer about but that's not as common as people think. I imagine it's an incident local to where my motor was first registered and the plate of the offending vehicle was taken down wrong.
  21. Hope it gets sorted mate. On the date in my case my car was on the road for a total of 20 mins.10 mins drive from my house to my office and 10 mins back with no incident. I'm still waiting for details about where and when it happened.
  22. Two days ago I received a letter from my insurer stating a third party was making a claim regarding an accident that occurred somewhere as yet undisclosed. Obviously it's a mistake as I've not been involved in any incidents at all. It's probably a scam or misreported registration error but still annoying. Anyhow I've sent pictures of my mint and undamaged vehicle to my insurer just in case. As yet no specific allegation has been received from the third party just the date it supposedly happened. It will be interesting to see how this pans out and I understand it's quite a common thing these days. Anyone else experienced this sort of thing?
  23. My only criticism of Horsham Dev is their location in the middle of nowhere . The service and knowledge is spot on. Great lads.
  24. Lol I've known plenty of mid life and run out editions that were worse than the original launch model for warranty claims etc. Saying that I tend to avoid vehicles for the first year that's usually long enough. The DE Z had issues as did the face lift and the HR has a different engine so really as far as ironing out faults it's wiping the slate clean on potential faults occurring. I've not heard any horror stories to be fair and all Zs appear to be solid unless neglected by the owner.
