  1. Most engines last if looked after bar a few exceptions that sometimes require preventative work. The Rover K series springs to mind
  2. Exactly why I put a smiley mate
  3. At least the dipstick is better so checking the oil isn't a pain in the a***
  4. The only awkward thing about terds filming is the fact you can't just twist em up and throw them in the back of the van anymore
  5. The EP3 boys used to supercharge as suggested. It's basically the same engine so that's the way to go.
  6. The use of foul and abusive language was enough for me A police constable may detain anyone on suspicion of committing any offence and then has a predetermined period of time to withdraw liberty for the purpose of questioning the suspect. It's quite simple really. The smartass in this video has all the hallmarks of a dumb criminal attempting to act clever based on a predetermined strategy should he ever be approached by the police. Tosser.
  7. Yeah I went for a tom tom in the cubby too.
  8. My vaping kit cost 50 quid with spares.
  9. A good ten year old example can be had in your bracket with between 50 and 80k miles. Plenty out there so no need to rush.
  10. I've not touched alcohol in over 20 years now that's an achievement I started smoking at age 12 and tried various things to quit over the years including champix. I have an e cig but it failed to hit the spot. Currently trying to just go cold turkey and after two weeks it's bearable. The longest time I stopped for previously was 14 months. This time I'm determined to do it without over eating to compensate
  11. RTA 1988 sec 163,from memory. Police can use blue lights to attract the attention of a speeding motorist and likewise protect the scene of any stop check forthwith. They are not just there for emergency response, it's also a myth that police must use them if exceeding the limit. The point to prove is always whether the actions taken by a police driver are warranted in any given situation.
  12. If I was going down that route again then in order it would be DC2 teg,Accord,B series civic. The Accord has better steering than an EP3 CTR that's for sure. They gave them a mild face lift towards the end of production too. Nice tidy silver face lift is what you want if in budget
  13. Certainly a stupid design if you need to remove an arch liner or the bumper just to change a poxy bulb.
  14. Maybe OPEC are attempting to undercut the frackers. Prices could fall even more.
  15. The two worst cars for attracting bell ends I've owned were a Civic type r and the M3. The NSX never attracted anyone which was odd.
  16. The only positive I have for the M is practicality, adjustable electric seat bolsters and the heated seats were better. Its simply not as communicative to drive as the Z. The moment I drove the Z the deal was done, more low down torque feel and a much better gearbox.I was running on Conti M3 spec tyres new shocks and dampers full geometry done etc. Even on a motorway the steering was to light and twitchy whereas the Z stays true and firm. Also it was more turns lock to lock than the Z. As stated it was horses for courses but my M experience over 10 months cost me an average of 400 notes just to keep it on the road lol. At the end of the day they are knocking on in age so problems are to be expected.
  17. My 330ci before the M3 was a far better everyday car and so much more reliable
  18. Don't do it,the E46 M3 is the car I traded in for the Z. Steering is dire unless you get a more recent CS with the quicker rack.Very twitchy and the manual gearbox is agricultural with the SMG auto being potentially high maintenance. Save up and get an E92. Every month bar one it required work. Ironically mine was a tidy low mileage one
  19. Keeping up with the Jones's was a familiar phrase in the 70s and 80s. The scene was a typically green well watered lawn suburban estate with identical cars adorning the respective driveways. The sheep like aspiration for status amongst peers. Today this is the domain of Audi driving tech savvy ikea and faded antique chic types. Every generation has its equivalent and it's roots come from the dawn of easy credit consumerism. I like cars, still have all my old matchbox corgi dinky models from childhood in the loft. Being someone who likes cars I like owning fairly sporty ones, this does not make me an idiot just an anorak. However there will always be those who aspire to be kings of their peer group by exuding an advantage. People like that bore me, I just let them jolly on in there knob extension on wheels. Enthusiastic drivers will always want to aspire with regards performance or handling. They are not idiots at all, just enjoying a hobby.
  20. Right, I have a standard optional fit reversing camera on the left rear numberplate light. The trouble is its not connected as the standard navigation system has been removed. I have traced the wire which is still in place so I was wondering what the best aftermarket double din stereo is to connect it to? I don't know if it's even possible so any advice or options would be great. Cheers
  21. I prefer these to the 911 fodder. Better suited to British roads. Very nice mate.
