  1. Apologies rock steady let me remove the offending word.I don't wish to offend anyone.
  2. IS are not followers of true Islam, the trouble is the twisting of interpretation to achieve a goal. Ironically the Christian bible is also full of nastiness whereas the qur'an is a more refined honed and obviously more recent book.
  3. Religion does not cause all global conflicts far from it. The cause of conflict can be varied and I would say in most cases that religion is used by those as a control mechanism whether they believe or not.
  4. To be fair Coldel the drastic drop in Churchgoers is a fair indicator that people in general are abandoning full on worship practices. However as you say stats can be totally biased.
  5. Ironically it was Dawkins book the God Delusion that really started me off.The survey was a fb post by the Dawkins page I subscribed to.
  6. The last thing I ever want to do is offend people. When the jehovas come knocking at mine I chat to them in length, the stock answers of faith and belief and silly things like the evolution of species etc
  7. I will find out,I just thought it was interesting. For the record I was brought up in a Catholic household lol.
  8. In all seriousness though I deal in logic and common sense backed up by known fact. Its not for me to disprove something that doesn't exist it's for those who believe to prove it does lol. Which of course they can't.
  9. To be fair this thread is in response to a survey I recently saw which stated half of UK citizens now think religion causes more harm than good. Maybe that should have been my title
  10. I'm happy enough for people to believe what they like, however it's never for the common good if governments, schools and other institutions still waft it about giving the illusion of legitimacy. I disagree entirely with an attempt to separate belief in a god and indoctrination at a base level. If there was no concept of God who would believe in one.
  11. I was just wondering how many other like minded folks are on this forum? I'm an atheist and a fairly strong minded one at that.In my perceived ideal world the illogical following of man made religions would have been banished to the history books. The likelihood of that happening in my lifetime is almost zero but I feel in some countries at least common sense and logic are starting to win through. I still find it incredible that some fairly intellectual people actually believe in it and to a certain extent worrying. I detest the fact the business of religion is utilised still as a form of social control and value. Obviously something as entrenched as religion having been passed on to successive indoctrinated generations will take an age to dissipate.
  12. I came from an M3 to the Z.I liked my BMWS but they didnt drive as well IMO and the running costs and reliability were a joke. Maybe the three I owned were dud cars but I got fed up with the things going wrong all the time. Build quality was good but the reliability in my experience is a fallacy. That said I still liked them.
  13. I flashed you waved about 1330 this afternoon.
  14. Oooo where do I get these? All my BMWS had them, this must be my next mod
  15. New wiper arms and blades plus banana arms done this weekend. Drives superb now
  16. Whenever I attended accidents involving Saxo's there was always a good chance of a fatality or serious injury. I've also seen a Volvo crash through a wooded area and all occupants x5 walk away from it.
  17. Lol,I did the same, sold my M3 to save money and have since spent a small fortune on the a Z. Nice looking car mate.
  18. I have a severe case of Zeditis! I didn't realise how addictive it was going to be,within the first week I had led's and a stubby! I need help, can anyone recommend a good shrink?
  19. At short notice this afternoon they supplied me with a banana arm at a superb price. Westway Nissan were not as happy when I called to cancel the part,I even offered to pay the 30 quid handling charge for the inconvenience. Thanks again Horsham you will indeed have more of my business in future.
  20. That's really set my mind at ease, thanks Will This quote isn't quite true, the human body can last up to 30 seconds before catastrophic damage occurs. This is dependant on "not" holding your breath, there have been several accidents and also animal experiments during NASA research. Anything over 2 minutes in space is fatal however but it's a myth that you explode like a popped balloon.Swelling would occur but the skin sack is more durable than you realise, the first physical indication of impending death is the saliva boiling off the tongue.
