  1. Just gone through the 1200 mile run in period, so let the fun begin. Might have to wait until tomorrow though as it looks a bit wet out on the roads today.
  2. I did that, rubbed it down on HID's car, and carried on.
  3. Looking like it could be a draw. Do we get to vote again in that case ?
  4. Had the Lancaster fly over the house a few years back. Incredible sight, and the noise. Father flew Spitfires during WW2, so always good to see one in the air.
  5. Strange in 16 years I hardly had a chip on my red Alfa. Perhaps I didn't drive fast enough to kick up a stone. Red is the only colour for an Alfa. Red leather in mine as well.
  6. Must say I agree. Back one looks fine, but front looks like it is ready to fall off. Just my expert opinion !!
  7. 16 years an Alfa owner, 156, and loved all of them. can't wait for the 159 replacement due out next year.
  8. I cleaned my daughters Seat Ibiza before she sold it, and it was a mare. The car was not designed for people who like to keep the skin on their knuckles.
  9. I agree, great product, good value, and it goes a long way. They had a shop at the Festival of Speed, and had a good chat with the chap there. What do you clean the suede bits on the door panel with ? Mine are still new, but no doubt I will need to clean them sooner rather than later.
  10. The Nismo convinced me to get a 370, but it was just a bit too out there for an old fart like me. I also fell in love with Midnight blue which sadly was not an option. I understand white and black can take a lot of cleaning It is just a personal choice, and the most important thing is that everyone that has one seems to love it with a passion.
  11. Well done that girl. My daughter passed her test shortly after her 17th birthday, and three years later is driving my old Alfa 156. She already has her eye on the 370Z, and keeps getting insurance quotes.

    370Z Nismo

I hadn't seen a silver one, but it looks great.
  13. Isn't red the only non metallic colour they do 370's in ? Pretty sure it is now if not before. It will be quite rare I imagine, but not as traditional as Ferrari or Alfa red. When I bought my Alfa I didn't even consider any colour other than red. Nice plate.
  14. I can't watch the DB4 and the Jags being crushed, and pushed off the road.
  15. The mountain road shots remind me of Gold Finger. They also remind me that I can't stand heights.
  16. and 350's in general as they are too dangerous to drive. If anyone driving one spots me driving my 370z, please do not wave as you need all you concentration to keep yourself from crashing the most dangerous car.
  17. My personalised plate nicely hid the age of my 14 plate 370.

    Tree sap

All the sap off at last. I found that the sap was easier to get off in full sun with the car almost boiling. The inside looks great, no make up stains. I used some Poorboys cleaner which was brilliant. Brought up the dashboard as new, and also did all the rubbers, plastics and bumbers. Read on here how good the stuff is, and it even smells like bakewell tarts.

    Tree sap

Clayed the car, and the bodywork is like glass, except for the tree sap. Claying was easy, though I am glad I had my first go on 16 year old car, rather than my 4 month old Z. Amazed at the finish, but now need to find something stronger to get rid of the sap. Weakened nail varnish remover ? It worked on the windows but not so sure about the paint. The car is covered in swirls, and without a machine polisher I think I am in for some hard manual polishing. Once the outside is finished I need to start on the inside. Plenty of hoovering, and leather seats to treat, but the worst job will be getting all the white marks off the black plastics. It seems that my daughter gets make up on her hands, and then everything she touches stains white. Hoping a good wash down will solve the problem, but I might be back for more advice.

    Tree sap

Just as a follow up, the car is covered is swirls. I assume I use the swirl remover after the clay bar ? Do I then need to wash the car again, or can I go straight to the paint cleaner, polish and wax. I have all the gear but no idea.

    Tree sap

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was due to clay the paintwork, but thought I would need to get the sap off first. Never clayed a car before, but here goes.
  22. In a pub that only sells lager and red wine.
