  1. Yes, I have. I was on my way to a National Park in Utah early in the morning when an ambulance flew past me. A few miles further on a car had hit a deer and it had gone straight through the windscreen, absolutely horrific sight and both deer and driver perished. I'm not making this up but I also once saw a donkey get hit by a car containing 4 or 5 nuns directly in front of me , luckily neither the donkey or the nuns were hurt as the impact was at about 20 mph. This was in the middle of France in 1975 and the first and only time I've seen a nun driving a car. Pete Just as well you didn't drive into the back of the nuns car. Try explaining that one on an insurance claim. Jasper Carrot would have loved you though. I was a good way back, say 50 yards, and it all happened in slow motion. I was in a way lucky as the nuns (in a Renault) had only just passed me. Pete Not sure you should admit to having been overtaken by nuns.

  3. Drove my mate to a game at Tandridge yesterday. Managed to get two carry bags in, together with boot bags. Had to take the longer clubs out, but both bags fitted in fine. Trouble is now he has had a lift in the car he thinks I should drive to all games from now on.
  4. I got a new 370Z GT for £26,000 three months ago, discounted from £32,000. Friend of mine works for Nissan and he can supply one car a year at employee rates. Not sure if it helps but perhaps a guide.
  5. I had a cat run out in front of me from no where. Strangely everything seemed to go in slow motion, and somehow my brain told me not to swerve as my alternatives were to hit an oncoming car or drive straight into a stone wall. I had the family in the car as well, so instincts said to hit the anchors as hard as possible but not swerve. I was on a road I drove on every day, so local knowledge may have helped, plus a bit of experience from having been driving for nearly 40 years. Does show you need to be concentrating at all times, and expect the unexpected.
  6. Few miles out of Petworth before the turning to Hazlemere. The serious damage I mentioned was not to the car, but to me. Have you seen the result of a deer going over a car bonnet and through a windscreen. I would try and avoid an animal if it meant not endangering myself and other road users. But if a deer runs out in front of you, and it is on a busy road with traffic coming towards you, and you do not have time to break what would you do? I might take my chances swerving off the road, as a deer through the windscreen might be terminal. A fox in the same circumstances would have to take it's chances though. Unfortunately it is one of the dangers of living in the country. You hear of people being killed on country roads, when they have just driven off the road. I think a lot might be caused by animals running in front of cars.
  7. Driving from Petworth towards Guildford yesterday, a car on the other side of road came round a corner and turned over a couple of times at speed, and disappeared down a bank out of sight. The traffic on my side of the road all stopped immediately and fearing the worse got out to give assistance. Two young lads emerged up a bank on to the verge none the worse for the accident, though obviously shaken up. They were incredibly lucky not to hit any trees which line the road. The corner was not that sharp, but the road is a quick one though, and they must have been travelling at some speed. It was not obvious what caused the accident at first, until we saw a dead fox on the road. Trying to avoid the fox the lads had nearly killed themselves. We get a lot of deer on the road which you do need to avoid as they can cause series damage, but swerving off the road to avoid a fox is not recommended. I hate to think what would have happened if they had swerved back into the traffic heading in my direction.
  8. I would try a manual before committing to an automatic. Personally don't like automatics, but I know others that love them.
  9. What day are you going. ? I will be in the Supercar paddock on the Friday, so suppose I had better give the 370 a bit of a polish.
  10. We got on the property market as soon as possible, spent up to the maximum we could afford on an old place in a great location, but that had not had a penny spent on it in years. Basically was a shell of a house though being built of stone it was structurally sound. All about potential, and have now lived in the house for over 25 years, and just about done it up. Had a decent size extension a few years back so I could work from home. No savings, investments etc, even though I am a financial adviser, Just about put all our spare money back into the property, and now that the mortgage is just about paid off, can afford a few luxuries, such as a new Zed. Hopefully due to the location and size of the property it should see turn out to be a cracking investment.
  11. Totally agree re the Alfa 156. Had mine for 16 years from new, and now my daughter has it. No major problems and still looks good today. No rust, no electrical problems, great engine. Must have got a rogue one.
  12. I have one, but like all good garages it's full of junk..!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hey my garage is full of my 370Z. Are you calling her junk.
  13. Sorry to hear that. Hope that was your last seizure and you are back driving in a year.
  14. I did have my tree feller recognise mine when I moved it out of the garage today. He was a mechanic previously and worked on a few 350's. Most people seem to have no idea what it is, but not had any offensive comments yet.
  15. European team has never won in South America, and I can't see that changing. Brazil or Argentina for me. We will struggle to get out of the group stages as usual.
  16. I take the driver and three wood out, and put the bag across the widest part of the boot. I have already almost forgotten to put the two clubs I have taken out of the bag in the car. It is only a matter of time. I have committed to carrying for the rest of my golf days, as I don't fancy getting a cart bag and trolley in the back. For some reason I seem to be getting a lot of stick for my choice of car from my golf partners.
  17. I have done 400 miles in just under 3 months of owning mine. Only really use to go to the golf club. Seems to indicate I am not playing enough.
  18. I wouldn't mention that you thought you were being pulled over for having a high powered car etc. Personally would just say that you were suprised to be pulled over but assumed it was just a routine check. Keep it simple. Send the letter recorded delivery and mention this in the letter. You wouldn't want them to deny receiving it.
  19. I thought the police had cameras in their car, and the film would be needed to prove their case if it went to court ?
  20. Quite right, you like it and that is all the matters. I Iooked at one before I bought my GT, and it convinced me I wanted a 370. Not so sure on Nismo extras and the cost so went for the GT. Also meant I could get my favourite midnight blue which was a bonus. It is human nature to feel slightly affronted when people don't like your pride and joy. Bet it doesn't stop you smiling every time you start her up.
  21. Great photos. Any chance of adding some forum names to the faces ? As a newbie it would be nice to know who I might be insulting in future. There are a few that I will definitely be agreeing with whatever they say.

    Love Hate

Love the look of it when I open the garage doors. Have to do it quite a few times a day just to make sure it hasn't been stolen. Hate coming to an angled junction, and having to get out of the car to see if anything is coming.
