When at college a mate had a Simca 1308, it was baby poo brown, which hid the rust nicely and was just tragic in every way. Mind you, he did buy it for 20 b&h, a can of coke and a dairy milk. Nothing worked on the car to any degree, if he was in front of you at some traffic lights we would always drive him into and slowly push him out past the lights, the brakes were that bad he could do nothing about it, i still remember his face in absolute panic!

Imho a car parked in the same spot every day and night will attract more attention as it makes it an easy target, I.e thieves know its going to be there, so I would vary between your options until you find somewhere you are comfortable leaving it

Happy birthday buddy, thanks again for all the help

Certainly smarts a bit doesnt it......... Valuable lesson learned at 16, always wear a condom

Yeah that was the worst bit of the "accident" for me too. Did you have a strange feeling of wanting to see all the gory details and watch what they did? Edit: I can't watch anything like that on tv. I have to look away Didnt have much choice buddy, i was on my own at the side of the road wondering why i wasnt able to stand up, lol So had to take a look

Whilst it would be nice to be given the info, so long as they supply the same widths and et's & tyres as the silver Zed, does it matter so long as you get what you want? Judging by the info on JR10's, i would say 9.5 et22 or et20 and i dont see 10.5 listed so guess the rears are 11 et15 or et20.

Similar to Fodder after a bike accident, double compound fracture. shattered Talus and my foot was 130 degrees out of position, bizarrely none of that hurt, accept for when they put it back in........

I put a large diameter throttle body on my Rx7, was without doubt the worst money i had ever spent on it, i know thats generalising but for a fi car i saw no noticeable hp gains, idle was erratic and trying to drive on part throttle was interesting to say the least, great on wot throttle, but anything in between was shocking.

If its on a corner plot with a big bit of land my first option would be, knock it down and build two, sell one and you will probably end up near enough mortgage free and a nice new house built to your size and spec. If that doesnt work out, go for the extension. I know there a lot of ifs and buts, but that is the route i would go down, best case scenario to worst case scenario.

So let's make it easier to drive like a twonk

It should definitely include some form of motorway driving and lessons should also incorporate it!!!! -

Not sure it makes all that much difference, as soon as you past your test who would carry out the same theories to reverse round a corner, three point turn, feeding the wheel etc -
Had Sky round a few years ago to fix the dish to the wall, about 3/4 the way up a regular new build two storey house (12 ft if that) they had to drill into the wall and fix an anchor bolt to attach the ladder to before they went up. I have also had to do a cics course for site work and quite frankly its laughable the questions they ask.

Great to see a British champion again, even if he is a winger. Great to see Ricciardo beat Vettel, actually thats the highlight of the season for me Plus its been great to see an actual title race this year and i know we cant have everything, but would be awesome next year if a few cars get up to the level of the Mercs for all but the odd race, watching one manufacturer walk away with it gets a little tiring.

I wouldnt disagree in theory, but in principal and the fact its quite a unique scenario they perhaps had no choice but to make an example and attempt to stop others than trying such things by giving out a custodial sentence. By all accounts there were a lot of comments on social media massaging his ego about how cool he was, big up, respect and all of that nonsense from loads of other such tards. He was also quoted as saying he could not give a "f" when arrested. An even playing field It Is not, sadly, but without a major change in sentencing laws, bigger prisons etc nothing is going to change.

Some refreshing news: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/11235609/Brands-Hatch-gatecrasher-jailed-over-track-dare.html Hope he leaves prison well and truly "stretched out" round the back

What's all this starting a sentence with "so" ?
Jetpilot replied to ATTAK Z's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Very much an Aussie thing, i like cricket and whenever England play Australia and any Ozzie player is interviewed, they nearly always start their reply with "Look" I find it quite condescending. -

I have noticed it on a tv series (american) i watch, whenever someone enters the room, they say, so.... blah blah blah Its annoying me too, i have an inkling its coming from america, a buddy of mine over there a couple of years ago, after 9 months he came back and every time we asked a question he started with, so.... -
The wing on that GTR is stunning

What would you do, question for the self employed
Jetpilot replied to Flex's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I am in a completely different industry but self employed, my rates vary for different works, chippie, painting, fencing etc Obviously all these require different rates to fit in line what others charge as i have to be competitive. Without sounding naive, do you offer a different service than other accountants? I.e Would accountants not charge an hourly rate, rather than a flat fee? In my line of work i charge the same rates (for whichever trade) regardless of who, whether they live in a 3 million pound house or a 1 bed flat, if the customers in the big places thought i was charging or found out i charged them more, i wouldnt get to go back. -
Never been refused insurance because of mods, so no problems, but yes it will add to your premium.

Made the trip a good few years ago to Normandy and varying places with regard to the war, the d day landing beaches and other key sites and also a lot of the graveyards, truly humbling, especially the unmarked graves and some the ages on marked graves!

I still think after my post above somewhere they perhaps need to follow MotoGp with concessions to non factory teams to make them a little more competitive, more fuel, more tyres or different compounds, more aero etc i.e their budgets wont be as large, as the concessions they are given will make up for the lack of money they are trying to find to be competitive. They wont win races but wont have to spend as much trying to go as fast as the factory teams, so they can have some good battles mid field, perhaps even make it a separate championship with different prize fund. Surely that would attract more teams to the grid?

I bought a product from a trader on here and was very unhappy with the quality of said product for the price. It had received good and favourable views, maybe my expectations exceed others, who knows. The trader was informed and whilst very helpful, i realised i was p*ssi*ng in the wind to expect anything other than "advise". Information that should have been given on order imho, wasnt, if it had been, i wouldnt have made the purchase, the bitterest pill to swallow for me was he had not even seen the item so i found it very infuriating that it was defended with such gusto. If ever i see a thread about the item i make my thoughts and findings known to the op so they can make their own balanced decision, seems i am not the only one which also justifies my opinions. I dont feel it necessary to name and shame as others are pleased and mistakes can be made, would i ever use them again, no, not a chance in hell, not because of the imo poor quality, but the overall lack of after sales and response. On a similar note i am sure everyone has heard of checkatrade, i have and will avoid it as it can take one poor review to blot your copy book, i did some work for an old lady, nice as pie but as mad as a cut snake, she had some wardrobe doors fitted from a guy from checkatrade, when finished she said to me how happy she was but was going to leave comment about his tidyness, i said why not just say to the guy, you could have been tidier, offer advise, but no, she had to write it out for all to see. A small mention would have probably been all that was needed.
