  1. There will be a reason they have insurance buddy, new wheels and nothing less in my opinion. I once had to make a claim against solicitors because they messed up on a lease extension, recovered every penny and never fell out with them and still use them today. No need to grip your ankles on this one imho, mistakes are made and you shoudnt suffer for someone elses incompetence!
  2. I am not sure how much these cost, but its actually irrelevant to me, if i had gone in with 4 new wheels i would want nothing less than 4 new wheels coming out. I just dont think a repair is satisfactory, its not like they were 10 years old and in average condition and sure you would be well within your rights to expect them to be replaced. I would tell the branch manager that is whats expected, if you get nowhere, the area manager, then national etc I would also be in touch with citizens advice to check your rights and relay what they have advised to Kwick Fit.
  3. I had mine done with vinyl, easy to remove if you dont like it or get bored
  4. Water stains almost always come through brown, its likely the plaster discolouring it. Hopefully Phil can help tomorrow but imho its not the bath, unless its a very small leak, if you emptied the bath and that was the issue, she would have an indoor water feature, it would be pi**ing out her ceiling. I would say with the recent cold spell we have had down here, frost etc, a pipe has split (possibly in the cavity), it could not be even your flat, it may be coming from above you and just finding the low point, do you have a flat above?
  5. Offset is no guarantee of by how much it will clear the caliper, that is dependent on spoke design and how much meat is on the hub, my 9j et20 (or less from memory) does not clear brembos, i needed a 25mm spacer up front.
  6. Still think 265-275 will be ample mate, 295 is a monster size, overkill imho
  7. 20 offset but make sure that design will clear the Brembos up front and 295 tyre for the rear, especially on a 10 is way over tired imho, 265 or 275 is ample unless your running silly hp.
  8. How about some do-luck double 6's to complete the theme Find those Vossens a bit fussy.
  9. Of course it does, on that basis how was anyone in the TG team supposed to recognise it on that assumption? Clarkson gave his reasons for taking the Porsche, heartfelt reasons i might add! If your honestly saying you would have made the assumption re the plate if you had not been told beforehand, i apologise reservedly, but as said elsewhere, what were the plates on the Mustang & Lotus? What were the plates on any of the other TG xmas cars? From what i can gather they were only made aware once filming (because someone linked the plate), they had a set of plates made to avert the possibility of some action, even that backfired as mentioned elsewhere as some associated that with the sinking of the Bellgrano rather than reading it as pretty much everyone else would!!!!! What they were supposed to do, cancel the whole show, run illegal plates?? Buy something else whilst there, if they took the issue seriously enough, a multi-million pound TV show can afford a £10k replacement car. Its so simple a solution. The just smash the cars up anyway so its not like they are looking to retain any value in the cars. They could have actually created a really good promotional thing out of it by being considerate to a countries history, clearly though thats not what Top Gear are about - given their track record. Buy something else whilst there, if they took the issue seriously enough I agree and they obviously didnt, but your saying it was staged/pre planned. You would probably find the Argies would still be looking for them on the basis they bought the car with the plate in the first place, no win situation, they tried to avert it with the bell end plates. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and personally i think your reading just way too much into it and jumping on the band wagon as you wouldnt have known just like everyone else on here, each to their own though

  11. Obviously! But who would notice that very vague number plate reference? The plate was on the car from new so unless top gear planned this multiple years ago... No one, unless it was pointed out to you, i wouldnt imagine many on here couldnt have told you the date of the Falklands before this nonsense. Media frenzy fuelled by a lot of peoples dislike for JC.
  12. Hoping FC5 will be a step on, kind of like from FC2 to FC3.
  13. Who notices a number plate when looking for cars, let alone a specific car, let alone one that vaguely relates to the one country you are visiting and be that lucky it happens to coincide with a moment in history... You should get a job with the media
  14. I would also say the main missions in FC4 seem too easy and there arent many of them, so if you just focus on them, the actual story is over quite quick, there are no real boss like levels to complete, i struggled so much in FC3 when you had to attack Vos's camp and then kill him. Good game but your right on waiting for the price to come down.
  15. Whilst i cant give you an accurate figure in real terms i would doubt you get under 5 sec, maybe shave .5 sec off, as others have said because so much comes into play. My old Rx7 running 500hp probably wouldnt have been any faster than a stock Rx7 as you just couldnt get the power down on normal road tyres from a standing start. I dont think anyone is being deliberately awkward, just honest in justifying why 0-60 isnt the best measure of the possible performance gains. In reality, when do you literally go from a standstill to 60? But, when do you go say 30 - 70, 50 -70 and upwards etc, that is where you will notice a ranked improvement over std. Gm's link will give you accurate theoretical improvement, if you take 5.9 as std that will answer your question
  16. Curiosity leads me to ask, was it open pit lane or sessions?
  17. Yes Ebay 1200 but I'm trying to offer a bargain for forum members here, they don't really "need" a refurb, as you can see the top pic was before I removed them from the car and look good still as they are. If you think they're expensive you obviously don't know how much these wheels go for, I know as I struggled to get them for ages (with a decent dish and offset too) and I paid a lot more than I am selling them for. Also the tyres were very expensive as well after that. Go try and find a set for this price anywhere, if you do then you can come back and say they expensive. While if a person is willing to pay that much for a set of rims as rare as they are Rare does not dictate price and is no sign of desirability These will sell to the wider target audience of Driftworks etc, although i do think the op will get similar comments surrounding overall condition in relation to price, but they are a nice set of rims in good sizes and offsets so sure they will go
  18. I guess its easy to say it should have been handled better or controlled but in realilty probably a lot more complex, just get them out as quickly as poss and with minimal fuss, I.e dont try and take on the mob. Both beautiful countries though, some stunning back drops, who reckons there would have been "a hand of god" incident in the football??
  19. I am not sure how a hanful of Police were expected to control a mob of that size, London riots go to show we arent even capable.
  20. Too much conspiracy theory stuff going on here. The plate is vague in its reference at best, 99.9% of people wouldnt even notice, unless you had known from the news or even being told at the start of the show. What were the number plates on the Lotus & Mustang, anyone remember without looking? The Lotus was impressive and handled everything thrown at it, even sported a lovely set of Oz Futuras for most of the show. Personally i thought JCs mention of the 928 and his father very touching. Boy did it escalate quickly, scary situation!
  21. Ahhh bugger. How are you getting on with FC4? Was hoping they would have it on offer in the store over Christmas but it's not dropped. To be honest i thought FC4 was just way too similar to FC3, apart from the odd new vehicle or elephant I dont think the missions were as good (whether you play either anitas or sabals) and the landscape in FC4 hardly varies except for the odd special mission (i.e the snow). The story didnt have the same engagement either, the characters in FC3 were far more intrinsic and linked to the game, i mean what were the whole Yogi and Regi missions about, they achieved nothing? Good game as Bruce would say, but kept hoping something better was about to happen and when i went back to try the alternate missions it was the same locations just with a different spin, i.e blow up the opium fields for Sabal, stop the opium fields getting blown up for Anita.
  22. So long as they done need spacers to clear the calipers as Stevo says (highly unlikely on the rear), you will be fine
  23. Running 19 x 11 Et20, 275 tyre, on eibach springs, all that was need was an arch roll.
  24. I would get a knackered engine and slowly build it up with forged parts so if yours does go, you have one ready or nearly ready.
