  1. Just get some 6000k ones and you'll be happy
  2. One owner from new is only good if he's looked after it. He spent 30k on the car then leaves it laying around because of a dodgy starter? I think it's a bit dodgy because surely you'd just put a new starter in it and carry on? So this leads me to believe that there's more wrong than just that.

I don't know, hence why I asked the question. I have googled it, apparently black is better: Fact? It's been said that black is actually the best color for dissipating heat from the engine. This statement is true, here's why: The reason black paint dissipates heat more than any other color is that black is the most capably dissipative color for infra-red (heat) wavelengths. As we all know, back is very absorbent when energy rays (visible AND invisible) such as sunlight hit it. It is also able to cast off the most heat energy, all of its radiation being in the infra-red part of the energy wavelength spectrum. Single colors tend to focus their ability to both absorb AND dissipate in the wavelength of their color, and far less in the infra-red compared to black. One last thing about black: It absorbs energy better than it dissipates it, which is likely why the effect of black dissipating heat is less known. Also, since it absorbs far better than it dissipates (as do all colors), it has a net gain, for example when your black car sits in the sun, until an equilibrium is reached depending on the heated body's ability to be cooled (like with a fender or hood, by the surrounding air). The ambient temperature of the air around the black fender keeps it from heating beyond a certain range. I hope this helps explain the "I don't know why" of black paint being a better cooler for engines. The effect won't be much, and might not even be noticeable unless closely monitored, but it is a fact. Black radiates heat in the infra-red spectrum better than other colors, which tend to "specialize" by radiating less efficiently in the infra-red and more in just their color portion of the spectrum." So, black really is the fastest colour
  4. Can't really put more powerful bulbs in because of how HIDs work. You can change the colour temperature of them, however.

  6. Your bushes are burnt out and when we get a little heat here it gets very humid and thats what kills the motor for a few hours until it cools down. You can either rip out the motor and put a new one in, or you can rip it out, rip it apart and clean it out with contact cleaner.
  7. Won't fit, they're only 18mm thick, OEM are 30mm.
  8. It's a disaster right now, taking 2-3 minutes to open a thread or go into a sub menu. Forum index comes up quick, though.
  9. What about mounting it on the rear strut bar?
  10. Look through the link and pick what you want, then post a thread in the "wanted" section and someone will help you out

I just chucked my old on in the bin, should've refurbed it and sold it on If you want to have a go theres a thread on it, it's really not that hard. Just need some contact cleaner from Halfords if the bushes aren't too worn.
  12. Yes, but then the tread of the tyre will be sticking outside the arch. Might be worth PMing CS or Clarks who will have discs handy to measure for you and could almost certainly get you what you need
  13. Car looks fine, why you changing stuff? Taste?
  14. Message Clarks Motorsport if you want new LEDs
  15. I have a pair I could sell you?
  16. Personally I'd leave them I know that goes against my hatred for other badges on cars, such as BMW badges on the wheels, but these are F430 splitters, for some reason that makes it ok

    Grey Rays

Looks like a kind of black chrome or anthracite colour depending which pic I look at. Both have been done
  18. Also can't see a dirty TB causing it, however if one or both are stuck slightly open, then that'll cause it.
  19. I think you need to bring it somewhere, it really should be idling at half that.
  20. Lewisdavid or something is his username I think. Was it a pale gold?
  21. I'd be more concerned as to why the car is idling at over 1500 RPM! PS. I think Will means the TB, because there is nothing to move on the MAF
  22. Few more little updates, nothing massive so I haven't moved into the dreaded stage 10 just yet Removed my Samco induction hose and Popcharger and fitted a polished Fujita induction kit which fits in perfect with my bay and gets rid of that fugly MAF carrier. You'll also notice that I now have a carbon fibre engine cover too I got that off eBay late last year for about £50. It's backed with fiberglass and feels extremely well made, however, the fit was absolutely shite and I had to redrill the holes! Also you'll see a new strut brace, my other half bought this off Redline for my birthday in February and as expected, the fit is perfect and the colour spot on This leaves my bay looking like this… Until about 2 hours ago when I fitted one of Mopedmarks excellently polished bonnet catches So thats the bay done for a while now, but I have a couple of things in line and hopefully have them sorted soon Whilst I was out in the garage I thought i'd do another couple of easy jobs when I had the time. Simple stuff. First up - wiper delete followed by RainX. Removed the boot weight whilst I was at it and decided another thing was annoying me. The "350 Z" badge. I want the back as simple as possible in terms of lettering, so I whipped that off too. It actually wasn't that hard to get off when I found out how to do it. Getting the letters off was easy, just some dental floss, getting the sticky crap off was another matter But I found that rubbing with my finger or petrol was useless, so I used the cuff of my hoody and it just basically fell off Then I wiped any remaining residue off with a micro fibre soaked in petrol. I had a dealer sticker on the rear window too, so I got the other halfs hairdryer and it made pretty light work of it, but it was still a bit fiddly because of the angle and it was quite brittle. Anyway, all gone now Think thats it for now. Next one, two or three should be quite biggies
  23. Where the hell did you get the F430 splitters and how much?
