I've recently noticed a ticking noise coming from the back of my engine. It seems to be as if under the plenum, it's not loud, but wasn't there before so obviously want to find out if anything is wrong. I've done a search and there are a number of threads with similar noises, but there doesn't seem to be one solution as you'd expect from a quick diagnosis over the internet. The noise increases in line with engine revs and is there when the engine is hot or cold. Oil pressure and temperature appear to be normal. My car was serviced in December with oil and plugs supplied by ZMANALEX, so I don't think it is related. I also check the oil regularly and top up when needed, but the oil level has never been really low. I've checked the fuel regulator pipe, but the noise doesn't seem to be coming from that area and there is no noticeable pulsing. There are no engine warning lights or any other issues / noises when driving. Video below, any advice greatly appreciated.

There's probably a reason it's not been driven much... fair enough if it's a weekend toy, but this is his daily drive from what you've said above. Anyone who cared for a car would not drive everyday with an engine light on and not get it looked at... unless they were hoping to flog it as they could be doing more damage. Might be nothing, but clearly the CEL is on for a reason?

Walk away my friend... the money you save buying a badly maintained, broken car could easily be spent 3 or 4 times over putting it right! Better to buy one that is slightly more and that you don't have to immediately fix imho. and happy hunting!

+1 My car is dirtier than it's ever been, but the weather has been so shite it's not been worth doing. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

They are expensive, but not overpriced for immaculate Rays imho. My only issue is they look quite similar to the standard GT Rays. They are gorgeous though and like I said, if these had been on sale a few weeks ago, they'd already be on my car!

Rasp? Pretty common with HFC's I believe. I'm going to be getting some Berks for my Nismo in a few weeks, I'm dreading not liking the new sound! Is it possible they're not fitted correctly as this could cause problems?

I'm not sure of the exact specs but there definitely isn't a standard size. Not even all Nissans use the same size. Best off looking for a 350Z one to be sure of correct fitment. I seem to recall that the Z cars are all the same?
