  1. Lol, I don't think I 'looked after' her properly so she shat on my strut... Just re-read that... Will post some more pics tomorrow after trip to to get the wheels aligned! Not that it will make it look any different!
  2. My suggestion would be to do it in stages. Get to a nice figure for standard internals, personally I don't want my fly hp and more than 420bhp. Then see how it goes for a bit and then if you want more, 500hp plus, go that extra mile. Just consider that unless you do the work yourself, it will be very expensive to rebuild the engine. All depends what you want to use the car for!
  3. I took mine off too Ian, health and safety... Pffffff
  4. Yeh it kind of goes half way and then needs a bit of encouragement. Perhaps after a while it will become smoother but either way I'm seriously chuffed with the mod! I'll post a pic tomorrow as it was very almost far when I got mine fitted!
  5. This is tigger, but we call him scruff as seems a bit more appropriate! Loves working on the zed with me! And this is Ginge, they're both brothers. This pic was taken a couple of months ago, hence the size difference!
  6. Priced it up a while back and was about £900 for whole set up and labour. You might have to shop around a bit though.
  7. So I've had the car 2 years and have decided to supercharge it over this summer. The car came as almost standard, and since I have added a Horsham plenum spacer, stainless y-pipe and 5zigen back box (came with car). The car did come with some drilled discs also. This was all done up to the point I decided to supercharge it. Here is a list of parts for the build: Parts list Suspension/stance Tein Springs - done Eibach 20/25mm spacers - done Eibach anti roll bars Poly bushes Bilstein dampers - possibly Bodywork/spruce up Re spray front bumper De badge and smooth Powder coat 'w brace' Powder coat wiper arms Powder coat top plenum Z speed under tray Engine Aam basic fuel return Walbro 255 fuel pump ID725 injectors Mishimoto thermostatic oil cooler AEM oil temp and wide band gauge Phormula KS-3 knock analyser Aam sump spacer Vortech v3 tuner kit Horsham up rev Interior/ice Pioneer deh-x9600bt head unit Single din gauge plate Re con steering wheel - wip Brakes/clutch HEL brake lines Ferodo ds2500 pads Brembo drilled rotors - done So I received my tein springs and eibach spacers from Ewen @clark Motorsport last week along with bonnet dampers from Ian (I4N). So today started like this... Usual story, wind blowing front of the cover up. Plan to fabricate a longitudinal strap as I tend to leave under the cover for a couple of weeks at a time. Cover off and this is the view of the wheels... Soon to be sorted with the eibach spacers! With a little help from scruff, I managed to get the first wheel off... Front jacked up, and out with the struts, a helpful tip here is to have both sides jacked up to allow the drop link to just fall out once undone So out with the old and in with the new. Another handy tip is before removing the strut, just crack off the top mount nut So same on other side, and on to the rear springs... In the meantime a bird managed to crap right on my strut bar!! So this is the front wheel look now with the eibach spacers on... Rears are really easy, just jack up the rear, remove wheels, support cup and un do cup pin. Out with the old and in with the new.. With some more help from scruff... Just spacer to pop on before wheels, and repeat on other side! Only just managed to do it in time for dark after I did the bonnet dampers and cleared up, so I'll add some more photos tomorrow
  8. Yep ditto on the engine build. You don't want to be throwing much more than 400bhp to the standard internals I put a thread up recently called going the fi route. Has some chatter about engine builds on there if you're interested http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?/topic/79558-Going-the-FI-route%2E%2E%2E-Advice-please-%3A-%29
  9. That is one special car! But yeh, have seen it somewhere befor
  10. I think you may have been giving details to dodgy websites busted!
  11. You can never know until a report is published (probably won't even be made public). But yeh, bird strike is a possibility along with hundreds of other things!
  12. And yeh, back to topic that is very sad. With regards to military accidents/crashes, very few are actually reported or made public. I wonder if this was due to yet another gearbox problem? A few super puma's went down in the North Sea in recent times (I think the type was consequently grounded whilst an investigation took place) and then more recently the police heli in Scotland, which I am guessing is gearbox related but no facts until the AAIB interim investigation is published.
  13. You should be privileged will Dumb ass thing is that I don't think anyone could understand that sober!
  14. Brake cleaner works for cleaning the plenum when you have it off. Along with lots of kitchen roll! Can be a messy job, but worth while as you'll have the top plenum off anyway
  15. Strange, I'm sure there was a spray which (i think) zmanalex suggested in another thread. It's not to cure the problem, it's just to eliminate whether it's a bush on the arm or the ball joint. I suspect it's the ball joint. And it's not the zed
  16. I have a knocking bush on my daily. I replaced the drop links recently, so that leaves the suspension arm and ball joint. What's a good lubricant to spray on the bushings to eliminate which one it is? I'm not sure if wd40 would cut the mustard?
  17. Civic type r's are quick. But the 350z is a different class of car. 0-60 is about the same but it's after 60, the zed come in to its element. However if you're not in love with the car, there's no point having it. Other option is to get a cheap daily. May make you appreciate it more when you do drive it
  18. If you have proof of postage you should be ok
  19. Or just multiply by 1.2 for total amount
  20. It cost me £11 to send the wheel. Plus I bubble wrapped it and had to get an extra large bag so a little bit more.
  21. Sure, it was £105 + £9.99 p&p. absolute bargain! Subtle but worthwhile mod in my opinion.
  22. As lexx said, but if you decide to got supercharger, Tarmac's your man. I started a thread to gather information for my build that I will be doing this year. You may or may not be able to get some info for it. Here's the link if you're interested http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?/topic/79558-Going-the-FI-route%2E%2E%2E-Advice-please-%3A-%29
  23. Received teins from Clark Motorsport last week. Fitting them thurs if the weather holds out. Went for the teins specifically because of the subtle drop and the fact I have no immediate plans to track the car. Hope that helps with your decision making
  24. M40 south azure having wheel changed
