  1. yeh, just looking at this now as I think it may be my only option. Thanks for the advice
  2. I think you'll struggle to find what your looking for they don't seem to be available. I ended up running two sandwich plates, a Mocal 92Deg from driftworks for the cooler and a plain ebay one with 1/8th NPT ports for the oil temp. But if you've been searching, you've probably seen my posts on the subject. Haha, yeh I have sam, thanks it's been useful to see the options! I can't see why it's so difficult to put a sensor port in a bit of aluminium! Perhaps I am missing something! I do like the mishimoto plate though and is just what I want, minus a sensor port. I don't think I will go mishi for the cooler but maybe for the sandwich plate and use a standard plate for the sensor. Just not a fan of the idea of putting two plates on there.
  3. I'm pretty much there with the parts list and will post it soon! In the meantime I am struggling to get an answer on oil coolers (I realise there are loads of threads on here, but can't get an answer to what I want). Basically I want a sandwich plate that has a port for an oil temperature sensor (1/8 NPT) as well. To narrow it down even further, I want a thermostatic plate with a temp of about 85-90 deg. And I don't want to run two separate sandwich plates, nor do I want to use a sump plug adapter. The most suitable I have found is the Mishimoto plate (see link), but it doesn't specify any sensor ports on it! Any clear advice on this? Thanks everyone for your help so far, I am really looking forward to cracking on with this!
  4. I'm gonna lighten the mood a little now and say spend more on the zed, it's our second anniversary in jan and I've hardly modded her! Tein springs and wheel spacers for starters! And then FI!
  5. Do you think if I installed 3 of these, I wouldn't have to buy my s/c?
  6. No you should be fine with them, they give a 17mm drop at the front and a 14mm at the rear which haven't caused interference issues with that size of spacer. Let me know if you need further information Pm sent
  7. Any further experience of this from. The FI guys?
  8. Hi, looking at these as no need for coil overs for my build. More for aesthetics. Will the drop cause any rubbing with eibach spacers (25mm rear, 20mm front)?
  9. +1 on replacing flywheel too Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. +5 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have, but am using this thread to get further information for which I haven't already researched/can't find specifics on? Thanks for your input, but I have already done it
  12. Thanks everyone for your help so far. Currently with regards to fuel system, I'm looking at: Turbo XS ECU Injector Dynamics 725 injectors (also still considering other options here) Cosworth Fuel Rail Walbro 255 fuel pump AAM basic fuel return system Has anybody had any experience of the aam fuel return system? In particular, with reference to fitting the system. I think my original ambition is a little strong and am considering rebuilding the engine last now. Obviously with that I don't want push the engine components that much (450whp I am thinking is far too much). I just want a reliable s/c set up that won't compromise the driveability of the car. After this I might decide to take it further or start a new project on a different car. Who knows what's in the future! Merry Christmas!
  13. Thanks for your advice tricky, I'll look in to all those things. I don't want to go massive on power but I have a rough figure of 450whp, which I think is achievable without compromising drive ability. I'll definitely look in to stand alone ecu. Just so I am sure, is a stand alone ecu the same as Fuel Management Unit, or is there a difference? Luke
  14. Just looking at pistons and rods, anyone know what the standard compression ratio is?
  15. Rambled a bit, but makes sense to me! Lol
  16. Would they make a difference with 725cc injectors?
  17. Completely agree! It's all that's been going through my head! However, I like the idea of a car I can maintain myself. I'm not convinced I could maintain a gtr without a specialist. And I do adore my big Bertha (the car!) haha Also, the idea of doing it is a project and to learn along the way is a big plus for me. Another of my considerations is that I will want to mod the gtr which will be big bucks (that won't add value, the same as the zed). However, the main point being though is depreciation of a gtr. I would guess if I purchased a 38k gtr, I may lose 10k in 5 years? I wouldn't say its a car that holds it's value well, and hasn't yet got to the point z's are with regards to percentage value. And that puts me off. If I add on to the gtr a cost of 5k (minimum) worth of tuning over the 5 years, you're already looking at 15k loss over 5 years (minimum). The 350z cost me 7.5k two years ago, which I paid for outright. I know I won't get money back for the 350z tune (not all of it anyway). I've definitely thought about this but I am 26, with good future job prospects, I can wait a bit for my dream car. I just think, for me at the moment i want to keep Bertha! Good spot though
  18. It's very sad indeed. I would not say they deserved what was coming, no one deserves that, but it does happen. We are all adults here (I think), we are all entitled to our own personal opinion without being slated for it. The same as we are all adults ('including those kids') and therefore should know that actions have consequences (including the passengers). I'll reiterate this is sad news but would have been even worse if an innocent child was killed at the side of the road as a result.
  19. On the face of it I will keep the c.ratio the same. Unless someone persuades me otherwise. As I said it's not going to be a power monster, but I do want a good quality build
  20. Sure rainex works good too but this Gtechniq stuff is on another level in comparison (imho). Expensive for the small bottles that you get in the kit but it is more than enough to do all the glass on our Zeds & that's with 3 coats on the windscreen too. Put some on my windows around 2+ months ago now and it's still just as good today. Thanks will try it next time. Have to admit (it works) but doesn't cut it with the wiper less rear window
  21. Haha I should have read it all before posting about rainex. Might try this other stuff next time! I never realised until today how good the stuff is!
  22. That's a good idea. I guess new internals wouldn't require an uprev?
