  1. My opinion is that if garages are offering reduced mot price, they will get their money in other ways...
  2. I used to work at Halfords as an audio fitter (along time ago in the good old days). I can safely say the garage is essentially a different company. It used to be nationwide auto centre before Halfords took them over. However, more recently I had a family get an mot there, and I can safely say DO NOT GO THERE. I would rather pay £40 with an honest company. Obviously this is only my experience of the ring wood road, Poole branch. They tried telling my grandad that his discs needed replacing as they were an mot failure. They were consequently passed at another garage (the one I go to for £40). That's with no favours, just an honest garage. I wouldn't trust them, but that's my experience
  3. There's loads of guides on here. Everything is pretty straight forward. Just keep eye on coolant level after and top up as needed. If you pour the new coolant slowly, you shouldn't have any problems Re: brake fluid, I use the pressure of a spare wheel which slightly pressurises the system which means I can do it by myself. I would highly recommend this if doing it yourself. Re: gear and diff oils: You can get a draper syringe for the diff and gearbox oil off eBay for about £10. This is a must have. Be careful when un doing the plugs to not round them out. Just make sure you use the correct/best quality fluids. Worth giving the traders on here a shout who will point you in the right direction. Clark Motorsport/zmanalex or opie oils are a good shout.
  4. Is that a port for lambda sensor on the headers?

    Looking HOT!

Loving this colour! I'm thinking it's the same, if not similar to the gtr pearl white!
  6. its easy, there is a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder which is bolted to the passenger side of the gearbox. just open the bleed nipple and drain it all out, then clean the bottom of the reservoir pot as there will no doubt be a bit of dirty residue in there. Refill with RBF 600 fluid. Get someone to sit in the car and pump the pedal 5 times and hold it down, then open the nipple to pull it through, check the fluid and top it up as required. keep doing this until there are no more bubbles and all the air is out. Legend, thanks Russ. Had zed 2 years now so big service! All fluids to be replaced and have never done a clutch before!
  7. Don't want to hijack this thread, but does anyone know how to bleed/replace clutch fluid? I can't seem to find too much info specific to the zed on it
  8. I won't be going this year as have a few big holidays booked, but I went away last year to chamonix. Highly recommended! I'm a skier but go away with snowboarders, spend some time in the parks, on the runs and a bit of off piste (not too far away). Strange though, as predominantly, I'm a wakeboarder, but yet I snow ski! Hopefully you manage to get away this year!

  12. Looking good!! Looks like you have big plans for the car and have thought it all out. Just a thought, but would you be tempted to paint the yellow stripe along with the eyelids? Think that could look the dogs nackers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Car just passed mot with no advisories. I had a feeling that would be the case but it's still a nerve racking time! So I have just purchased Tein Springs and eibach spacers off Ewen @clarkmotorsport. The build thread can begin very soon!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks I will have a word with Horsham when they re open in the new year and see what they say as they will (hopefully) be tuning the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Good stuff, I had it in my mind that it can run lumpy if injectors are too large. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

since when? if you think Harmlu is barking up the wrong tree why don't you offer some constructive advice These engines arent oil sensitive. You can use any 10-40 5-40 5-30 oil in them. I would stick to 5-40 or 5-30. Now compare that to some diesels that need LL-01 or LL-04 or vag spec 505.00 or 501 or even merc 229.5 etc etc, If you don't put those accredited oils in then they will get damaged and warranties etc. These cars need oil when run low they damage, Show me one thread where a car has been damaged from using the "wrong" oil. We can just throw about statements without backing them up. He provided no evidence either. So chill. I am referring to the system in general. From the dipstick to losing oil for various reasons. One of which could be using a semi synthetic oil. My advice is replace oil and filter asap to avoid potential problems.

I use Motul, in particular c1, but if you don't want to spend too much this exceeds Nissan's specifications. Opie Oils is a trader here and knows their stuff! If you were still unsure of whether to replace it or not, I would pm them. But I am sure they will say replace it asap http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-873-motul-8100-eco-clean-5w-30-acea-c2-petrol-diesel-engine-oil-for-euro-iv-engines.aspx

yeh replace, don't just top up. These engines are really oil sensitive.
  21. looks great! Emailed Jack, awaiting reply!
  22. Ideally I would like the ID725 injectors as I have heard nothing but good things about them. Will these be over kill for my initial build of circa 400bhp, ie is the 725cc too much and create problems with tuning?
  23. No, not at this stage. I have changed the plan slightly to do the supercharge before the engine build so initially not massive power. But I have looked in to it a little. Would you recommend having one for circa 400hp? edit: Power reasons aside, I'm liking that option
