  1. I have been using sainsbury's since I've had the car (just over a year now). No complaints but I was wondering if tesco 99 ron would be better given it is the same price? What does everyone else use?
  2. Bertha... Just seemed appropriate!
  3. So summer (if us in the uk can call it that) is around the corner and a few things on the list to do to big bertha (the zed, not the missus' name). 1) New clutch and flywheel. No slipping but a bit of shudder when pulling away (not gunning it) in 1st. Just have a gut feeling about that. I am thinking exedy clutch (standard) with a standard DM Fly. Only performance bits on car are plenum spacer, cone filter and exhaust (cat back). I don't drive it much but still want it to remain civilised on the road. 2) zedspeed undertray as the plastic one is getting a little hagged. 3) 25mm wheel spacers all round (standard rays). Is it best to go for eibach here? 4) led lighting kit and gauge face. I will probably go for white, new style. (thanks to @husky for the inspiration) http://www.blackcatcustom.ca/Nissan%20350Z.htm (really looking forward to doing this) any advice welcomed, especially with regards to clutch and fly. Other than this, I plan to just enjoy the car a little
  4. exactly the same thing as happened to me... Brand new re50's on rear at £225 a pop, 100 miles later a nail appeared close to side wall so had to fork out for a new one! Quite good that they were new as got away with only replacing one (if I wasn't thinking optimistically, I think I would cry!). I would have got it repaired if it was safe to do so though
  5. Thanks Alex, I will contact you nearer time of oil change, still deciding whether to go for one of these zedspeed jobbies or not
  6. Keyser, I've just ordered one of these. Should be with me soon, could you let me know how your laser cut goes and where to take the blade please?
  7. Where thor art thou Ricey Unfortunately can't stretch to an M, but I'm open to donations. Only looking to spend circa 7.5k with around 2k additional from the sale of my car. Different beast but hardtop s2000 or mx-5? Honestly mate, you ask on here people will say a z is better. On a z4 people will say a z4 is better. We are all biased. You can only really find out if you like them but going for a test drive tbh. You might hate the z4 you might love it. You might hate the vtec but you might love it. You need to buy the best car for you and what will suit you. No one should be making that decision for you. Z all the way
  8. Afternoon all! The screws and clips attaching my under tray are starting to corrode a little. Was thinking it is a good idea to change them for new ones next time I change the oil (or find I have anything else to do which involves removing the under tray). Does anyone know where I can buy the right ones from (screws and clips)?
  9. Looks ok, but still highly priced for a cat D. Unfortunately, no matter how good a car is, having a mark on the log book de values it. If I were you, I would buy a new gt4 wheel (if you can find one ) fit all 4. Sort the washer cover, spend a day cleaning and polishing her. Finally get her MOT'd and THEN list her. Won't put any more value on it but will get you more interest. Oh and maybe lower the price a little more! good luck!
  10. I haven't read all the replies to this so apologies if I repeat on anyone... You have 4k to spend... Maybe look at supercharger upgrade for the z? You will never get your money back when it comes to resale but I guess it's a viable option.
  11. I am 25, 1 years no claims bonus and I pay £550 with admiral. I got this quote through GoCompare and I highly recommend people go down this route. They are a very reputable company too as my friend has his car written off by some muppet driving in to the side (and then driving off), and was sorted out in a a few weeks.
  12. First of all I would make sure it's a uk spec and not import. Second of all it depends how important that 1k of money is to you. Personally I would go for a gt pack. But you can have as much fun out of either! On the other hand I would rather a tidy standard uk car than a problem child gt pack, so take some time looking for that dream!
  13. welcome! I have been living in Madrid for the last 18 months and soon to move back to the uk where I have my 350z!
  14. Tyre pressures or tracking probably
  15. Oil on threads as seen on pics is fine. But for reference when I did my plugs, one plug came out dripping with oil. This was due to a broken coil pack head (it was able to twist). It was still driveable like this with no detriment to performance, but knowing it was there made me just pop a new coil pack on (£30 off amazon). Glad you got your problem solved in the end
  16. Hi! I got my first zed a year ago. I think it is fantastic and don't have a bad word to say about them! For me, personally I would try and stick to a uk spec gt. It might cost you a little more but over a few years you'll end up spending more on insurance (most probably). Wait it out and see what comes up but don't rush finding that perfect match! Good luck! maybe have a look along these lines, remember that you could haggle a little too.... http://www.autotrade...s/200?logcode=p http://www.autotrade...s/200?logcode=p Don't be put off by the mileage. But do ensure it has been looked after properly. Check full service history backed up with invoices on all work done.
  17. looks like everyone's gearboxes are going strong Good luck with the sale
