  1. Thanks again guys. You guys who have completed the conversions yourselves have my respect. Unfortunately I don't have the spare time or overall mechanical competency to do it on my own; that's why I've contacted Mark at Abbey to get some prices etc. Will keep you posted.
  2. Thanks guys. Will investigate further but you've confirmed my suspicions that a rebuild is necessary.
  3. I should have added that my car is a 2007 296 BHP up-rev Roadster.
  4. I've been considering either a TC or SC conversion for some time and have decided to go down the SC route as I don't necessarily need in excess of 500 BHP but would like to get as near to 500BHP as possible with supercharging if the engine can take the stress without upgrading the internals. I understand what's involved with the SC conversion but would fitting Stage 2 Heads, and compatible Cams prove to be of any further benefit or would this just stress the internals too much?
  5. Thanks to all to the information. Will post some pics when finished.
  6. Thanks for the advice. I like the Tuner nuts and know the size is M12 but what about the X 1.25 or X1.5 . Which one is suitable for the Z?
  7. I'm having my standard oem Rays refurbished and painted black for use as my set of winter wheels and would like to know where I can get a set of black wheel nuts plus a set of black lock nuts? I'm also open to alternative suggestions on type of nut to use. Appreciate any help or advice provided.
  8. Are you looking for a Coupe or Roadster? I'm selling a 2007 Reg 296 Roadster with 26000 miles Leisure and weekend car only. Has MREV Lower Plenum, 5/16th Spacer, K&N Typhoon CAI, Veilside Headers, Earthing Kit, Nismo Catback Exhaust. Nearly new Pirelli PZero Rosso tyres. Good condition throughout. Reason for sale: buying a new 370Z Roadster.
  9. Hi, Great video. I definitely want to do the same trip in the Z sometime. If you don't mind me asking, how have you mounted your camcorder? It seems rock solid and picks up the sound very well. I want to get a mount for the car but no idea where to start. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Austin Hi Austin, Bought mine on-line from Hague Camera Supports. Model ref SM1. www.cameragrip.co.uk. It's the one in the left hand picture on the Home Page. It takes most camcorders and comes with an extension bar to cater for the larger camcorders and different orientation preferences. Have not tried it on the outside as yet but would expect good results. Might appear a bit cumbersome for some but it worked well and did not lose it's grip on the windscreen at all. Cheers Steve
  10. Just read the threads on this topic and find it unsurprising the amount which has been quoted bearing in mind age, no ncd and insurance group. I'm afraid that even though you and others of your age group within the club can be classified as safe, competent drivers, you are paying the price for the apparent recklessness of others in your age group who are not as careful and are involved in more accidents thereby loading the premiums. You might be able to shave a few hundred quid off but I doubt it. On the subject of modifications and advising the insurance company, am I right in thinking that the insurance company need only be advised if the engine performance of your car has been improved beyond the power output expressed on the registration document? I know many, including myself, have bolted on goodies which under normal circumstances should increase power output but because of the Nissan ECU such performance increases are generally negated. Therefore, if you can demonstrate through a dyno read-out that engine power output has not increased you need not advise your insurance company? I know they use the phrase 'modified' as a catch all but upgrading to 19" wheels or fitting better discs etc., should not increase premiums per se.
  11. Veilside Headers, Envy SS Sport Cats, NISMO cat back exhaust, Typhoon CAI, MREV2 Lower Collector, 5/16 spacer.
  12. First of a few video clips form recent trip to Stelvio http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm95 ... SL350Z.flv
  13. Some great pictures. Having recently driven to Stelvio I can appreciate just how fantastic the roads are. Thanks for sharing the experience
  14. In such illustrious company my zed performed admirably. Not a real match for the Exige or the Elise round the hairpins but on the open bends and straights was more than equal. The CSL is quicker on open roads but could not pull away from me on the twisting mountain roads. The Boxster and the zed were more evenly matched but I was able to out accelerate from a standing start.
  15. Just used the one lens. Canon EFS 18-55mm. Very versatile particularly in combination with the various mode settings on the 400D. Time wise we allowed six days having pre-booked tunnel crossings on Eurotunnel. Caught a late train Wednesday evening then drove to Reims for night stop arriving early hours Thursday morning. After an ‘interesting’ night at the Formula One in Reims drove out to the old circuit in Reims before travelling down through Strasburg to cross into Switzerland at Mulhouse-Basel stopping a number of times for fuel, food and bladder evacuation. Then it was down through Zurich heading towards our base at Livigno via Fluella Pass. Fluella Pass was brilliant but had to drive in a tremendous thunder storm. One misjudgement meant we arrived at the border crossing in to Italy 10 minutes after the post had closed. This post is the one where you drive through a tunnel under the mountain. Because of our late arrival had to do a 45 minute detour around the mountain in to Livigno arriving about 22.45. Went to Stelvio on Friday up the tortuous multi-hair pinned route approaching from the east then down the other side to Bormio which, in my opinion is the better drive with fewer hairpins and more long open sweeping bends. Saturday we went exploring, going up what we thought would be interesting routes, were not disappointed. Later that day couldn’t resist going up Stelvio this time from the Bormio side. Instead of coming down the way we went up on Friday we came down on the Swiss side but I can't remember the route too well as I was following and enjoying the drive too much to look at road signs. On Sunday we started back but came via San Moritz and took a scenic route detour en-rote to Zurich. Approaching Basel we couldn’t resist entering Germany and letting loose on the unrestricted autobahn. Had intended to stop overnight at Reims but decided to push on to Calais and was lucky enough to get a late train through the tunnel. So, five fun-filled days but in retrospect an extra day would have given us more time to explore more routes and appreciate the scenery more. I’ll be going back next year as my wife having seen the videos wants to go so it’ll be a bit more relaxed time wise.
