  1. Standard questions usually include how, where and when the damage was caused. So probably that...
  2. Shouldn't be an issue, it refers to where the car is usually kept, not where it's always kept; i.e. the majority of the time. IF they think it's an issue they will have to investigate before deciding it wasn't a one off. They will most likely do this by asking you, your wife and your neighbours where the car is usually kept. So long as there's a consistent story of it usually being on the drive more often than not then it'll be fine. Given the value of the payout, I can't see the insurance company going to any epxense or effort to investigate.
  3. Not for me I’m afraid, it doesn’t look quite right; it looks like you’ve just glued a shelf over the boot lid. Especially with it being a different colour to the surrounding panels.
  4. You could probably get that down to 4 minutes if you charge every 10 miles instead of every 50 though...
  5. And everyone knows the best part of any road trip is the hour spent at a motorway services waiting for the car the car to charge. Fun times!
  6. Pretty sure that's my front end though....
  7. Just because I've resisted for a while. And it's another "famous" picture too.
  8. That is a dangerous statement to make around here....

    400 Zed

...or that, that's just now the going rate for a car at that level, what with inflation and all. Just sayin'.
  10. Good grief, I've not updated this thread at all this year!! Yes, absolutely safe on panels - I use it all the time on paintwork as well. Just rinse off when (if) you notice it starting to dry out at all and you'll be fine. Just be absolutely certain not to let it bake on, that's the only time you'll have any issues.
  11. If only there were someone on here who had been saying this for years...
  12. In short, yes; SRP is terrible. Tripple is not.
  13. They shouldn’t, they should just give it all away once they’ve paid all the money to buy stock. To all businesses, justify your capitalism I say!! Oh, expect those with niche skills sets. They can charge what they like because niche skill sets. Apparently.

    Wax

Tripple is more of a glaze than a wax to be honest. It’s a very good glaze though so gives a good finish when you can’t/don’t want to polish and it works equally well by hand or machine. It’ll last <2 weeks on its own though. What you top it with will ultimately determine the durability, and that’ll depend on your budget - I’m assuming from the two products you’re looking at then you’re not looking at high end waxes, so I’d suggest Poorboys blue. BH Double Speed is a good hybrid wax and very durable, you’re looking towards 6 months, and gives a reasonably good finish. I wouldn’t say it was the glossiest finish ever but it’s still up there. I'm also going to throw out there the much underrated FinishKare pink wax as an alternative to both, great gloss, good durability, easy to work with and the tin will last you a lifetime.
  15. I am a big fan of Tripple, it’s a very good glaze. It does need to be topped with wax though as it only lasts all of about a week or two without.
  16. Does your business not charge a markup then? What does your business do? You might just have a new customer if you’re sell at cost.
  17. Looks too much like a Toyota if you ask me.
  18. Maybe your driving’s just got worse...
  19. I trust those AP’s are suitably protected.
  20. Whilst I appreciate that Adrian is only trying to help (and credit for doing more than most traders would in this situation) I can’t help but feel that rather than having two separate conversations it would have been better just to include all parties in all (relevant) communications - that alone could have avoided this entire thread.
  21. Given it's out of warranty and you've now used the item, I wouldn't expect the retailer to overly involved from this point. The manufaturer might replace but again seeing as you fitted the item, saw it didn't fit properly and then proceeded to use it anyway rather than swapping it back out before using it, I wouldn't be overly surprised if they refused to be honest and you're now relying on them acting in good faith, IMO.
  22. Legally; lights must be visible to other drivers and retain their original colour - lights should be visible from a distance although I don't recall the specifics. From an MOT perspective I seem to recall it's a failure if there's anything applied affecting output.
  23. If you want gloss, ditch the wax altogether; polish the car within an inch of it's life and go for a coating. You simply won't get any more gloss from anything else on the market today. If you want a deep, warm and/or wet finish then stick with wax. Proper prep work (not just polishing, but ALL the prep work) will improve the finish and you'll get more from some stages than others - FWIW, polishing > glazes. To be honest, I wouldn't bother with a sealant AND a wax, but if you do then lay the sealant down first and top with wax - don't waste anything more than a cheap wax though; by using both you will lose the best aesthetic aspects of either and the wax topper will be very much a sacrificial layer. Sealant topped with wax = the wax won't bond to a sealant (or a glaze for that matter) as well as bare paint. Wax topped with sealant = sealant stripping the underlying wax anyway. The exception to this rule is hybrid's topped with wax - they tend to bond better (like using a glaze first) but you still lose the best aesthethetics from both.
