Or it proves the 350Z is too...

Products for Windshield and Glass beading
ilogikal1 replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Car Detailing
Plenty. In fact, if anything, you’ve got too much choice. There are easier to use but less durable options such as GTechniq G5, PIAA, Car Chem Glass Sealant and the absolutely terrible Rain-X. Don’t go for Rain-X! Then you’ve got the more expensive, more involved coatings that last much longer such as GTechniq G1 and Gyeon View. Theres a very specific reason that I’ve named the ones that I have, take your pick. And do NOT choose Rain-X!!! -
@ZMANALEX Click on his profile, then from there you can compose a new message to him. I’ve tagged him above too so he’s alerted to this thread.

And that’s also why it’ll never happen that way Blanket tax based on what day of the week the offside headlight bulb was produced is more likely. Of course plug in hybrids will be more taxable than full electric cars, what with the polluting combustion engine component. Which will force the hand to admit plug-in electric isn’t as environmental/sustainable as once believed and, oh would you look that, tax based on non-renewable electricity sources for all it is then.

370z Replacement in testing at the 'Ring
ilogikal1 replied to 350Butcher's topic in Off Topic Discussion
There’s been a spate of threads on these very photographs recently and the unrelated-but-still-given-as-evidence quotes. Who’s to say what (or if) Nissan are testing? Yes, it could be a new Z with an old 370Z body on it. It could be testing a new engine in... an old model 370Z for whatever reason. It could be a completely unrelated component or a stress test for a problematic component. It could even just be a guy driving his 370Z round in circles... -
370z Replacement in testing at the 'Ring
ilogikal1 replied to 350Butcher's topic in Off Topic Discussion
As mentioned in one (or more) of the other threads, it’s “evidence” of nothing at all. Its speculation based on the sighting of a 370Z with holes cut in the bumper being driven around the ‘ring and a some vague comments made by someone put on the spot. -
Meh, if you're going to buy something as tedious as a Civic, why not buy it with the wrong engine too. (I have nothing useful to add to this thread)

Nissan confirm 370z and Gtr replacement "coming soon"
ilogikal1 replied to The Bounty Bar Kid's topic in Other Cars
I don’t understand how a 370z with holes cut into the bumper being driven around means a new Z with a new engine is definitely, absolutely guaranteed to be on the way. Then again, neither does the article which itself refers to rumours. The only thing they’ve “confirmed” is that a replacement is in the works... although how and with whom that has been confirmed is as much a mystery as the new engine that they’ve assumed. [/sceptical] -
If you replacing your 350z, what would you get next?

R8 without 10 cylinders is wrong. Just wrong. -

Could you find a standard one, even if you wanted to?!? -
For one, it states he was speaking at the Tokyo Motorshow in the article. However, as that article was published yesterday and the Tokyo Motorshow didn't open until today, he was either "speaking at the Tokyo Motorshow tomorrow". Or was last year (or the year before that...) Also, all he says is that it's "easy to imagine" that designers are working on it. It's a bloody long stretch to seeking to replace it with another Z car.

Yeah, I mean just look at those sidewalls! -
Such is the state of "journalism" these days....

Realistically you're talking hours, not days (or longer) these days. Bodyshops won't be waiting around for long before polishing back when they've resprayed a car after all. I'd only wet sand when absolutely necessary - always, always, always go with the least abrasive solution that will get the job done. Unless you have drips/orange peel/etc, I wouldn't be considering wet sanding as a matter of course. Although, that does depend on how good your painting skills are... mine are not. DAS6 is a good machine, I still use mine as I can't justify a (selection of) Rupes.

He's posted in the 370Z section, so I'd guess that'd be okay....

Double post.

Yeah just like that. But you can't promote the use of CO2 for anything... it's evil stuff that's killing the world, remember.

I think it's about 45% underground, from memory. But there are 2 lines that are completely underground; Waterloo & City and Victoria line. The latter has suspended service several times due to the weather... These, and other exciting TfL facts, were brought to you by someone who does not always enjoy his job.
-
And anything built since the 90’s seem to forget how large current cars are, so none of the parking spaces are big enough for anything to fit in anyway! There’s an obvious and very simple solution of course... ...simply devise a fuel source that is actually accessible, practical and environmentally friendly. How hard can that be??
-
Oh well in that case you’ll definitely need to “punish” yourself with a Flex or a Rupes. It’s the only way you’ll learn...
-
Even the underground ones!!!
-
Or, you know... charging wherever you actually park becomes an option. Just as an alternative to cars driving themselves around looking for electricity. On a different note, I almost admire the complete ignorance of the cradle-to-grave impact of electric cars on the environment and the sheer nonsensical hyperbole of “green, innit”. Almost.

S20 should be fine, so long as you're not too heavy handed with the sanding. If you are too heavy handed, S20 will still get fine sanding out but it may just take a little longer. I wouldn't go any heavier than you need to, but if you do find you need more cut the usual method of minor, progressive increases applies: i.e. don't immediately reach for the heaviest compound/pad you can! There is probably always a "better" option, but S20 on medium pad, down to S20 on a fine pad and then (if you actually need to) S30 on a fine pad to finish should be plenty. To be honest, S20 finishes down quite well on it's own, so you might be able to skip one of the two later steps, but for sanding I'd definitely suggest that 2 stage is the way to go. Your Argos polisher will be fine if your technique is good enough - good technique with bad tools is better than bad technique with the best tools - so don't spend more money than you have to... unless you want an excuse to buy a new polisher, then I can justify that for you too. You might also want to consider the smaller spot pads as well as the larger 5" depending on where you're polishing - a lot of the front bumper is much easier with spot pads, but then the bonnet & upper central part of the bumper is easier with larger pads.

No prizes for guessing the inspiration...

Yes, if you get the required harness too.
