  1. And because they live on hearty diet of vodka and vodka...
  2. That's not evenly remotely true. They have 14 days to ISSUE the NIP. There's absolutely no requirement for you to ever receive it, let alone a limited timeframe.
  3. Because people upload them to, seek them out on, and post links from Youtube...
  4. Completely legit. In other news, I have 7,300 tons of scrap iron for sale. Yours for a mere £500,000. Collection only from Paris, payment up front... Have a look on their website and see how difficult it is to find any information at all about the product. If that doesn't give you an indication, have a look to see how many known and respected car care brands advertise the use of "vegetable based oil" as the sole identified chemical in any of their nano products. See if you can an MSDS to find out what's actually in it. Best case, it'll be no better than the headlight wipes that you can get (and that don't work). Worst, you're applying unknown substances to your paint. Unknown substances that actually advertises that it dissolves paint... or whatever "actively polishes, dissolves and reorganizes damanged painting surfaces together" means.
  5. I didn't realise you worked in the customer services department at Tesco!
  6. There's no part of that advert that demonstrates good parenting, from the outset. But then... it's an advert. For Amazon's world domination. So meh.
  7. A decent tar and glue remover; douse some cotton wool pad or the like and place over the tape for a few minutes - the longer you leave it the better, but don’t let it dry out. It should then lift off reasonably easily. Depending on how stubborn it is, you may have to repeat. Then wash, polish and protect.
  8. Me! Me! Me! Me! Meeeee!!! It’s a shame for sure; whilst CYC is a pretty good retailer, PB’s approach of only selling what they themselves use was somewhat refreshing. You always knew if PB sold it, that it worked and the instructions on their site weren’t just regurgitated from the marketing blurb. Having said that, it was never quite the same after Clarke stepped away and Rich scaled back on his detailing. Still, quite exciting news about Gyeon UK though...
  9. For anyone interested but not signed up to the newsblast, this happened.
  10. If only they made cars that don’t instantly dissolve in all weather that you could just park up at the side of the road...
  11. Any such directive would have to be very specifically worded, to the extent that it may be overly restrictive and therefore counterproductive, as many insurance companies claim that the ridiculous renewal hikes are predicated by the underwriters; yet when a customer phones up to discuss quotes they are able to check your details against alternative underwriters and find cheaper cover. Apparently, and arguably rightly, they are not permitted to make any assumptions about your circumstances (I.e. that all your details are still the same) when contacting underwriters for quotes but the underwriter of the existing quote can make assumptions themselves at renewal time. I say this is arguably right because, yes it’s annoying and leads to this ridiculous practice, but imagine if you needed to change any detail of your policy (annual mileage for example) and the insurance company told your underwriters it’s the same as last year. It opens up a whole can of worms around who is then legally liable for the misinformation in the event of any dispute; you’ve not told them that, after all. To implement such a seemingly simple directive would actually mean fundamentally restructuring the entire industry, likely at some considerable cost and disruption (every single contract would have to be re-written) which, frankly, would not be footed by the industry.
  12. Seems to be a business model that works, given it an industry wide practice, so there must be enough people about who don’t shop around still.
  13. Fine to jack up on the sills, in the appropriate jacking spots - you'll either need an appropriate pad or a hockey puck with a grove cut into it so you don't damage the seams though. I've got a Sealey low profile jack that I picked up from Amazon on the cheap and use a modified hockey puck, but a lot of people also use the SGS jack; https://www.sgs-engineering.com/tj3lp-low-profile-garage-trolley-jack?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-dy1tp245wIVgbTtCh06UQK2EAQYAiABEgKWCfD_BwE# It reaches the rear centre jacking point, but you'll struggle to get close to the front without a ramp of some description with many jacks to be honest.
  14. Either; a) Take the car to another sign-writer to match to the existing one - repeat until you're successful, tried them all or lost interest. 2) Order a pair and even if the match isn't right you can just replace other side as well. iii) Give up and take the other one off too.
  15. That’s the new 400Z. I asked someone in at Nissan about and it they didn’t outright deny it, so it must be true. And now it’s on the internet, so that’s confirmation.
  16. As... debatable (?) as the topic of that leaflet is, it’s actually quite nice to see the sources of the claims contained within being provided. I’d even go as far to say ghat the bottom half of that is pretty well written. Too often things like this make the claims and just expect you to accept them as truth. That’s it though, that’s the extent of positives I take from that.
  17. So, still no news then... Prolific use of the words "think", "guess", "hope" and "rumour" throughout. Beyond the headline they're not even trying to fool anyone that, that whole story is just made up.
  18. I hope Nissan actually formally announce something... or anything; because despite all official, quoted and credited sources saying a Z car isn't in the pipeline, isn't even a consideration and certainly isn't being funded in any way, shape or form I fear that these ridiculous rumours will continue to be spouted as fact every 2 months for the next 5 years, just as they have been for the last 5.
  19. The only bit of that ^^^ I disagree with is; Adrian's charging more than double that in the links he posted.
  20. Yep. They’ll be in the calendar.
  21. Aside from nostalgia, what's the appeal of using a 30 year old engine in a new BMW? I just don't get that.
