    X-wing Z

    Me too - it's hilarious
  2. I've got these on mine. The variant compression arm bushes give extra caster not extra camber I'm not going to be very helpful here as I'm not sure I can tell how much better they are Here was DIY fitting http://www.350z-uk.c...40#entry1500420 ages ago. I think there was a difference although it has become normal to me now. Certainly still feels responsive but very safe at high speed, but I can't remember it being that sloppy before I fitted them. My car is on MPSS, Zeta-S, Eibach ARB and Powergrid links and it all feels pretty rails at all speeds, although perhaps steering is a touch heavier at low speed although I am long overdue realign. I chose extra caster bushes because H-Dev's website recommended them, then bought from Clark MS, rather than coming from any empirical knowledge. Yep, these are all subjective comments... so no help really
  3. I feel a bit like one of those Brexiters* that now want back in.. I didn't like hyper-Evans, but as the shows went on (and he calmed down a bit), was he really that obnoxious? * Only sympathy mind you - I was a Remainer personally.
  4. 393/969 = 40.557275541795665635% or there abouts. Damn, posting has changed it again
  5. But you could always move to Aus and buy Precious v2? Though I heard the car tax in Aus is insanely high. I've been toying with the idea of stripping mine of it's S/C and supporting mods and taking a big box of parts out to do another. I can't bring myself to do it though Also it's a bit hard to reverse some of the mods easily (fuel system etc). Hey ho.
  6. My wife hated precious so much she migrated back to Australia. Well not really, but she did hate Precious and she did go home. Plan is supposed to be I go to Aus and sell Precious (as I cannot export). Tougher choice that she realises
  7. Excellent skills as always Andy
  8. ..gutted - might have to sell as Australia is calling :-(

  9. I agree with some others. Same top gear mixture of world class beautiful camera work in some segments mixed with silliness in others, but gawd I hate the incessant whining me me me ginger Evans. Yep, Matt with his dry humour and crazy Sabine should be fun. Nomad segment was hilarious The old trio were great in my opinion - Clarkson was properly poignant at times and did some really fine work. The old top gear specials were always brilliant too. Loved them. Old TG just needed less caravans and plastic pigs - oh wait new TG and they are back with a pig trip to the midlands Loved that blue Viper - what a beast!
  10. Cats hiding in bushes.. not unusual ..except it's bushes up our tree..
  11. Mine are still in their box unfortunately as I ruined my left knee ligaments on Dartmoor 3 weeks ago. I can't kneel or anything at the moment, let alone scrabble around on the floor with tools I toyed with the idea of dipping the lights in a bucket to see if they have leaks in the name of forum science - but quickly changed my mind on that one Construction and quality is pretty good, but agreed a little more sealant around the lens-to-body wouldn't hurt and would be invisible when installed in the bumper. There are a couple of dots on the back of the body which could be smothered a bit more and it would be good to add some around where the loom goes into it's grommet. Plenty of tape and cable tying the sheath is a good plan to keep the loom dry. I assume the (what looks like a) breather port doesn't leak and keeps water out properly Oh yeah - those white plastic 90 degree twist clips can be a pain if there is any hint of separation between the metal stay and bumper shell. Right pita in fact
  12. Nice guitar - I have the exact same PRS/Allender SE except in purple.. Love the bats, quality and the finish. GLWTS
  13. Wow! some epic stories in here I'm currently sporting a knee brace and crutches after jumping over a bog on Dartmoor on Monday. It all happened so quickly - I'd make that jump easily ..not. Left landing leg on very slippery ground went flying outwards then, accompanied with lots of popping/cracking noises, curled itself around leaving me sitting on the other heel followed by falling back into stupid bog in shock. Fortunately we were on the last dog walk before returning home, so only 50m from the car. Leg felt like it was no longer attached straight I went white as a ghost. A 5 hour car journey (passenger) to pick up the other dog's ashes (we cremated her the week before ) then off to A&E for a nice long wait. Grumpy nurse practitioner at Stoke Mandeville (I was wearing track pants - maybe she didn't like my Jimmy Saville joke ) had a good pull at it and diagnosed MCL injury and gave me a humungous brace to wear. Love this brace as it makes my knee loads more stable. However, 3 days later and the outside hurts with swelling. The wife's lovely physio thinks my ACL is damaged too (noooo... thats much more tragic) so via our friendly doctor, we're waiting for a consultant's opinion. Two week delay apparently. The feelings are most odd - very painful if pulled at any angle, but virtually nothing if rested. Doesn't feel at all safe if straight either, but OK to rest lightly on it slightly bent. Feels naked without crutches and brace. Being in bed is wierd as trying to turn over, it sometimes jolts between pain on one side then the other and back with flinching. Swear words are said.. Also there is a weird bubbling/twitching feeling on the ACL side.. Various swelling comes and goes, but I'm taking it really easy and seems much less painful at rest than the constant nagging patella tendonitis I had in the other knee a few years ago. It now clicks halfway though. I've got draw on it too... at 90 degrees, the lower leg moves backwards in a sick way. Oh yeah - I've been told by 3 people that car driving is not allowed with a recent knee problem as insurance is temporarily invalidated. Well that is annoying. MOT is due as are some pending zed mods. At least work have said I can perma-home work. I've taken on board the need for a good physio. Excellent last couple of weeks - PTS/cremated the dog, rear bumper was low speed creased by a Hyundai 4x4, I was agedly 51 and then this..
  14. Thanks mates - incapacitated by food and a few beers at the moment - about to pass out I think :fat:
  15. Fully declared, £345 fully comp @ Flux crazy horse. I am 49+1 years old I'll be 49+2 years next month too
  16. That's dreadful! RIP super Zed in her watery grave
  17. Whoops.. did I say applied.. I meant accepted the job Times are a changing then. I'm on board with the idea to a certain extent - although tropical N Queensland (25C at night, 35C day with 100% humidity) in cyclone season is not appealing! We've had a couple of holidays visiting her crazy rellies and a couple of road trips in New South Wales previously and they were great - so I'd prefer 1000 miles south of Townsville personally I even took my rig with me and got in a couple skydives a few years back (whilst trying to escape a cyclone again) ....But needs must... Unless it results in the D word, I have to give her 6 months out there on her own to settle in (and find out if living/working back there really is the right move) wait for an old dog to cark it, then sacrifice my funky job, sell the house, ship the remaining animals and contents over after stripping precious (still got all my OEM stuff), then emigrate and live like an unemployed pet on a spouse visa surrounded by boxes of car parts for a while... First world problems a-plenty Zed scene seems fairly keen in Oz though - which is great - even a few FI 350 there too. Seems that you can modify cars out there but not import them modified. They also draw lines at cars you could already buy in Oz - like 350s and I don't qualify for personal import status so that screws that. Import taxation and their SVA equivalent on a vehicle is a complete rip-off, but it looks like I can ship used parts based on scrap value. We got married in the Seychelles in 2004. I assume that we are legal in Oz - that could be a surprise if not Good luck with the CNC I've got the AAM stage 0 sitting in a box if you wanted a frs immediately
  18. Precious is running great I've just bought some carlab rear leds to go on at some point, I'm going to do a small re-wire with some switched relays to make my fuel relay bypass circuit and logging display system independant, plus I've got a dashcam to go in. Mini jobs. Then I was going to finally fit the V2 front bumper that has been sitting in my garage for about 2 years, and think about getting the abortion of my front end paint work fixed by having the car wrapped. ...that was until the Aussie wife got properly homesick. She is about to apply for a job in snake/croc infested Townsville. I cannot import a post 1989 Modified Zed into Australia by any sensible means possible it seems. The only option is to strip her and build another Zed over there.. assuming we actually go of course. So yeah, car nerd doldrums at the moment How is your build going these days?
  19. Mine turned up earlier in the week (smoked). They look pretty nice in the flesh - quality is fine. I've just got to get around to fitting them now. Yes really well packaged too. Carlab seem good people to deal with IMHO
  20. Go on - what you are really doing is seeing what it will be like when you own your next car.. Citroen cactus
