  1. Well,..........they've started putting colour on the car!!!! Sorry for the delay, but the bodyshop's paint sprayer's wife decided to go into labour just before they were due to start painting the shell. 2 weeks paternity leave and a week catching up with other jobs but back on track now. I called there this morning to find the underside painted so really pleased. 2 to 3 more days painting then the same again flatting and polishing and I can have the car back. The delay has actually helped me out as I now have gas central heating in the garage along with a bit of a makeover and de dust. My wife says I can move in there, and you know what I might just do that. Progress so far.
  2. Bug#er! And I thought it was a cunning plan. Still at the rate of destroying a phone a week, you should clear the backlog in 9 years.
  3. Chris, back up all your stuff and while holding it in some barbecue tongues take a blow torch or the gas hob to it. Then kick up almighty fuss at work saying it nearly burnt the house down while charging. Ask to see their liability insurance and a full record of annual safety checks done on work issued equipment. Agree not to sue on the understanding you get the phone of your choice. Simples. Most importantly though don't implicate me in your attempt to defraud your employer or any criminal damage investigation.
  4. All I would add is that if using 3m tape or pu adhesive make sure the mating surfaces are spotlessly clean using isopropanol or similar to remove all traces of wax etc.
  5. Cell phone ban Violation Fine (€) 60 Points 1 Use of cell phone while operating a motor vehicle 60 Euros Use of cell phone while operating a bicycle 25 Euros. Probably not such a good idea to post a video of yourself on three wheels using one then.
  6. What are the rules on using a phone while driving on the Autobahn?
  7. Nooooooo! That's the last person you want to involve. Next thing you know she's taken over the wedding. It won't stop there, she'll be round every day telling you what colour curtains, bedding and sofa you should have, new kitchen, new bathroom. Nip it in the bud before it starts
  8. All I got was a bit of paper saying " sold as seen, no warranty implied or given, no refund or returns," some risk assessment forms and asked to sign a liability waiver. On a serious note, as others have said just go with what you think is best, and good luck.
  9. Little comments like "her last boyfriend was a really great guy, good job, decent family, we can't for the life of us understand what she's doing with you. We can only assume she's doing it to annoy us" are the usual give away.
  10. For me it was more about asking for his blessing or approval and involving them in a very important decisions. More of we're grown ups, are going to get married, definitely don't need your permission just that it would be nice if you liked the idea. My father in law was I think just glad to get her out of the house at last.
  11. Wow, I didn't realise these were so rare and expensive. I have a brand new genuine Nissan one still in the original wrapper that was never fitted to the car. So mint condition and original packaging, that's got to be worth a small fortune
  12. Looking good, progress is progress even if it seems small. I found there were stages where even though I'd spent hours in the garage, nothing seemed to be getting done. All the offering up of parts and panels, adjusting and checking again all takes time but better to get it right at this stage. Post paint it's going to be very difficult if not impossible to change panel gaps etc. Keep up with the pics!
  13. Indeed some great pics, including one of my all time favourite cars the 250 gt SWB. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Just watched on +1, really enjoyed it!
  15. Well done Col, those days of being a lowly E bay monitor seem a distant memory. All the best.
  16. Great pics really enjoyed looking through those. Amazing to see the evolution and so many versions. Looks like an awesome place to have visited.
  17. Why stop at mods and points, why not tell them you're a 58 year old vicar who only does 1,000 miles a year and find a mate or relative that lives in a low risk area and say you live there. After all it's only so it shows up insured for ANPR cameras. What could possibly go wrong? Seriously listen to the sound advice of those above, some of whom have unfortunately had the need to make a claim.
  18. Mine had its innards oozing out. The good thing is they aren't too dear and easy to replace. Just make sure you change it like for like as they have different ratings.
  19. It could be the capacitor, mine did the same thing. They get too hot and melt. It's a tubular thing about the size of the cardboard bit of a toilet roll. Mine was caused by running the compressor too much shot blasting.
  20. As others have said above. HPI car. Check the car is registered to him at his address. Check Vin numbers. Check service history and Mot where applicable. Ask to see Driving licence, utility bill. Bank transfer. Signed receipt. Insure and tax the car.
  21. The 8c was very nice, but for £180K not sure if it's what I'd buy
  22. Sorry, was just adding another pic. Yes pretty much decided on the shade of Jaguar "Opalescent Gunmetal Grey".
  23. A few more pics from today's visit. Stone chip protection now on and body tub sealed and re primed ready for the final flat down before final colour. And this little beauty was outside...
  24. Indeed, some great pics there. This is what I miss about not having the Zed. Brilliant! I just can't imagine the e type lot deciding to meet up at night in a car park dressed in black running round with torches for some cool shots. They don't know what they are missing out on! Thanks for posting the pics up.
  25. Hi Nixy , as a rough guide £1000 to £1200 per square metre assuming you don't uncover a major sewer or dead bodies when doing the footings. If you want the level of finish Keyser has gone for budget nearer 3k per Sq m. The first bit is serious based on construction experience. An alternative and cheaper if it's just for the bike might be something of timber construction, ply lined insulated with 50mm Kingspan and clad in tantalised ship lap on the exterior.
