  1. Like X-Factor but for criminals? Seriously though I do agree with you that we shouldn't be paying for these criminals & terrorists to live in jail. Not forgetting the hundreds of thousands in legal aid and the million plus on court case costs and appeals. The cost of keeping them in prison pales into insignificance in comparison to the huge sums of money elements the legal profession are earning defending them.
  2. At long last, I got the phone call to say my engine is ready along with a video of it running and the new five speed gearbox attached. Super excited! Unfortunately with work I won't be able to pick it up for 2 or 3 weeks which is a real pain.
  3. As suggested above and yes. https://www.uksealants.co.uk/sikaflex-292i-high-strength-marine-adhesive.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwvMnJBRCO2NSu-Puc6AUSJAAf-OSU6We1KrmC5Cx9a5GPhvsH2syfXkgJi3YqgKO18N8gwhoCpJTw_wcB The 292 is the stronger.
  4. CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!! All the best for the future.
  5. Excellent, looking forward to pics!
  6. Not wanting to doubt you in any way but that does seem rather cheap. I notice you only have one previous post so not much for members to go on.
  7. Very nice, welcome back!
  8. Jack up the rear of the car with both wheels off the ground. With the car in neutral turn one wheel by hand. If the other turns the SAME direction it is an LSD.
  9. Please don't be negative about these things Chris I think we are poles apart. Despite initial resistance, current reactions are positive.
  10. Funnily enough Hugh I very nearly bought a 997 even pestering Dan for advice. My problem is with work I never really got the chance to drive the Zed so a 997 would have sat there depreciating. One year I did 600 miles between mot's in the Zed. For me part of the enjoyment of the E type is working on it. It's a form of therapy. Would I buy another 911 though... definitely. @Jay84 http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68166-major-jaaaag-project-update-april-2017-engine-pics/
  11. The 911 ran faultlessly, the 308 spent more time on the back of a recovery truck. I think I'd built the whole Ferrari thing up that it didn't quite live up to the dream car I had in my head. It was slower than the 911, the gearchange was terrible the pedals offset so much you felt you were at a strange angle to name a few niggles. Don't get me wrong, I used to love the looks and sound of it but didn't fall in love with driving it. The annoying thing is they are worth a small fortune now. The 355 I had later was a different matter altogether but it was financed to the hilt so that had to go too.
  12. Will I ever forgive mine for not letting me have one when I bought the DB9 ? ... no, not really - I should have been more assertive  Years ago I part exchanged my 911sc for a Ferrari 308 and regretted it straight away, 6 months later that went so we could buy a new house...regretted that even quicker! Roll on twenty years and I have to resort to buying the E type one bolt at a time.
  13. Have to agree, it does look good!
  14. Chris, please don't stand guarantor. It's clear there is a history of not being able to manage her finances, why will this change. Letting them stay with you short term also has its risks as well. Will your address be her new address for the bank and other creditors to contact her? Please, please be careful as this could also affect your own relationship. Phone me anytime mate if you need a chat.
  15. Just wait til he updates those toolbox and table build threads........
  16. Delete that picture immediately Doogy before I report your post and block you!
  17. Bit of a bummer when you were all excited about your new track car. Don't know if this is any use Chris, in Atherton and prices start at £210 plus £115 for the test itself? http://www.krisblundellintensivedrivingcourses.co.uk/trailer-be-training-in-greater-manchester-and-lancashire/?gclid=CPGG3cik0tMCFQTjGwod-nYAtw Being old has a few advantages, I already have a B+E licence from when they were giving them away for free.
  18. He's still got his Prestbury/Alderley Edge tractor so will probably be ok. You seen this one for hire nearby Chris? £50 for a day. Might do to be going on with. Tilt bed. 19. I was wondering how you had gone on. Looks great Chris, you'll have to call round with it. Ref the traction control, and not doubting Dan's mention of the conplexity, if it's electrical there must be a way of over riding it, even if it's by generating the right signal for the wheel sensors. Presumably these are hall effect ones? There may be a gearbox sensor as well.
  20. I did mine myself with caliper paint. Red first then applied the high temp Brembo decals and re coated with clear.
  21. Trust me, not as much as my poor wife. This little lot has been sat in the front room for the last nine months. She threatened to launch it all down the garden at one point!
  22. Thanks guys, forgot these pics. Dash loom and rear loom in. And LOTS of foam protection Hopefully I will have a video of the engine running soon and this bad boy vented discs and four pot caliper upgrade should arrive. I've also ordered the vented rear discs and four pots along with master cylinders and servo upgrade. I want it to stop as well as it goes. These are the same ones Eagle E type use.
  23. Cheers Doogy! Although it would have been nice to build the engine, I think would have been well out of my depth and one mistake could have been very costly. These guys build race winning engines, whereas I fall more into the category of all the gear but no idea. Pretty excited about getting it back though. OK I admit to sitting in the car the other night making engine noises. Sad I know.
