  1. There's only one thing worse than being alone and that's being with someone that makes you feel alone. I read your post about Green laning and you seemed much more upbeat and positive and was really pleased for you. I can't help but feel that any contact you have with your ex is tipping you back into this black whole of despair. I know it's difficult but try not to have any contact whatsoever, that includes looking at old photos, asking friends about her etc. Focus on the future, as others have said, time is a healer. Get on with your life, even if it is on your own at the moment. Words are easy, I know. All the best.
  2. Alas not a patch on Keyser's mighty erection!
  3. Trolley jack, axle stands, welder, grinder, thinners, engine oil, brake fluid, blood and tears, you name it, its had it. Pics above.
  4. Looking good! I painted my floor with epoxy about 10 years ago and it has lasted really well. I was hoping to do it again before I got the car back but didn't manage it. As I understand, it is any trapped moisture in the concrete that causes the the epoxy to lift. The surface has to be stable and dust free too. I brushed and hoovered mine then painted it with a special primer first. Mine does have a DPC membrane below the concrete as well to prevent damp rising through. The painted surface is very easy to maintain and hard wearing. As you've kindly updated your post with makeover pics I might post one of mine up. Any excuse to show off some cupboards
  5. Cheers guys, ref the threads, the bodyshop plugged those for me, but as you say did advise running a tap through again just to be sure. And glrnet, you take that back about Keyser, he's my hero!
  6. Don't start, I'm already a nervous wreck even thinking about touching it. The plastic is super thin and what the bodyshop provided. The next job is to cover any vulnerable bits with the soft 2.5mm foam for working on it. There is part of me that wants to crack on and start putting bits back on and the half that says don't touch it you'll f#ck something up. I've got Chris (Keyser) voice in my head saying " man up and get on with it "
  7. She's home!! Notice the huge roll of foam, Now the fun bit starts, remembering how it all goes back together.
  8. And just another day at the bodyshop, I love calling in, if only to see what they have in the car park. This was Fridays visit..
  9. Well, the big day is near. They are delivering the shell back tomorrow. I've been busy getting the garage clean and ready. I can't believe how much dust the bodywork had created. In the best 60 minute makeover fashion.... Before After Back to the Jaaaaaag, I've managed to shot blast all the front suspension and get it zinc and nickel plated. I'm really pleased with these and will be sending more stuff to the platers. The e type was very advanced in that the suspension is fully adjustable for camber, castor and ride height. Lovely bit of engineering.
  10. 55 plate Seat toledo tdi, bought as a stop gap while the Mercedes was being fixed and still have it 12 months later. £850 because it's not got an undamaged panel on it but then I'm not bothered where I park it or what I put in it. Someone knocked the wing mirror off so it's now just duck taped back on. I love it, I'm getting 45 to 50mpg and it's quite nippy. Belting engine.
  11. Very nice, I like the colour. Ref " A JAAAAAG section", Ive been telling them that for years. Rather like a gentleman's club for the more discerning enthusiast.
  12. Looking really good, is that an E type in the background? (top right)
  13. It was Dave's early post modernist photo shop work that inspired me. I hope that is reflected in the hours I spent working on your commission you ungrateful person you.
  14. Assuming the dealer will let you, I'd download form v55/4 from the following link and have a scan through it. https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/new-registrations I don't know how you stand regarding the "certificate of newness" and whether the new V5 will say registered 2017, declared manufactured 2016.
  15. Cheers guys, thing is, I won't want to put anything on them now. I've been trying to get some thick rubber matting cheap.
  16. Cheers Chris, the drawers on the small one were from a damaged toolbox on eBay and the ones on the big one are out of the racking in a van again E bay. Both have ball bearing runners but I'm particularly pleased with the big ones as they are really sturdy. I then made up a frame with 50mm box sections steel. The side panels are 18mm mfc board from work. It's the stuff they make shop counters and displays from. Decal and castors from E bay again. I think the big one should be useful for things like the seats, hood, bumpers, etc.
  17. Rob, couldn't you make one out of cardboard. Where you cut it too small, put it in the hole and then mark how many mm you need to add in 20mm spacing round the edge of the first template. Transfer this onto a new piece of card and keep repeating until you get it perfect. Sounds a faff but shouldn't take long.
  18. On the subject of the garage, the makeover is nearly done. Here's one for Doogy and Keyser. Having made the bench on the left, (see earlier post), I decided to make a bigger one, again drawers and decal from E bay. The most expensive bit was the beech block top that unfortunately I had to buy 2m of this time.
  19. Cheers guys, spot the cute little series 1 Landrover in the background. It's a great day out just visiting the place.
  20. And there's more. I received these today from the bodyshop. It's still got to be flatted and polished as yet. I'm itching to get her home now.
  21. Hope you're on standby for the rebuild, don't be booking any more foreign holidays .
