  6. That pretty much it has to be 4 seats so I get my car allowance, reasonably economical, capable motorway cruiser and nice place to sit in. Would prefer petrol and it not to be the slowest thing on the road. Don't mind what age or if manual or auto. So far Audi S3 and jag S type
  7. Mental driving, surprised he walked away
  8. Would prob for for that a 320d if i was taking the new car, but Im really leaning towards a a cheaper run about. of my own.
  9. This can happen if car does a lot of short journeys and is not reaching operating temperature, was there any mixed with the oil ? Thing is though plenty of zeds out there, some well cared for ones in the for sale section on here. So if you don't feel comfortable with this one keep looking

    car cover

As a few others have said its the wind that's problem causing the covers to move on the car. I live close to coast and it gets very , very windy in the winter so even the fitted covers were causing minor scratches and swirls. I would also avoid Hamilton Classics covers while they are certainly good quality and get good reviews in magazines they are not actually a tailored fit and wind gets under very easily
  12. I've pretty much decided to give up the company car (Ford Kuga) and do a bit of shedding, as I think I would be much better off with the car allowance and less tax. (Do have the choice of a new BMW 3 series, merc C class, Audi A4 or similar up to £34k though so still tempting !) If I give up company car would be looking to spend £3 to £4 K It would need to do around 35 mpg on a run, not as slow as a week in jail and not cost a fortune in spares, servicing and repairs The only stipulation in car policy it work is that it has minimum of 4 seats. Whats the suggestions ?
  13. Battery flat the other week, started with a jump and turned out I had left the head unit on. Went for run and all well until lest car for 3 days and it was flat again. RAC got me started but reckoned the battery was toast but local Kwick Fit tested and said all was fine with battery and alternator. Again today battery flat (not used cat for 4 days), have it plugged in to battery charger now to give decent charge over night but also wondering if I have a short or bad earth from installing new head unit Being an electrical numpty , how do I check if battery is actually toast and how do I go about looking for a short or bad earth
  14. +1 on the format c and start from scratch. I actually got a call the other night from some one claiming to be from BT broadband advising me I had a virus and wanting remote access to fix it, I almost fell for as well as the night before had been on the phone to BT about my broadband contract.

    car cover

Even the expensive ones will cause swirls and sctratches in my experience
  16. Friendly mot testers are becoming fewer and fewer, its just not worth the risk for them anymore. I know a few people with TVRs who have really struggled with emissions this year where it was never a problem in past.
  17. Thought I would start my own wee thread Zed number 1 Now on my second Zed a 2005 GT in Blade Silver bought with 41,000 on clock with full Nissan service history and 3 previous owners. First I gave it a good wash, clay and machine polish Then had wheels refurbished in anthracite Next was hand brake and gear gaiters, Nismo black aluminium knob and black Richbrook hand brake cover Finally for now windows tinted and stubby fitted
  18. will do tomorrow, was wanting an instant fix though Cheers Vlad can u pm me the number - worth a try
