  1. ".....wake up at the back!.." Like taking the Zed through Banwell (other than rush hour) as the exhaust noise bounces off the buildings nicely Hope you're well Dave
  2. Sounds dodgy Flex, definitely speak to a solicitor
  3. As an insulin dependant diabetic I have to be extremely careful about drug driving. By law I have to test my blood glucose level before I drive. The recorded level has to be within a set window for me to drive legally. I then have to recheck my blood glucose level every two hours of my journey is in excess of that time frame. For example I take a test, then have a five hour drive ahead of me. I have to stop and test myself twice to remain legal. It's a pain but I totally understand it, as the potential consequences of me becoming hypoglycaemic while driving on a motorway could be horrific. I am aware of a diabetic who realised his blood glucose was becoming low, so he stopped and pulled over outside some houses. He turned the car off and sat there for an hour or so whilst he tried to bring his blood sugar back up. He wasn't able to get out of the car because he was so unwell. Someone became suspicious of why he was there and called the police. They got there and after talking to him, managing to get some sense out of him, ensured he got some sugars in to his system. Eventually he was ok, the police made sure he was alight. Unfortunately because he was in the drivers seat of the car and the Keys were in the ignition they sadly informed him he had in fact committed an offence of being in charge of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. He got a significant fine and lost his license for three years. This chap was a very respectable and decent chap, he was also a barrister. He found the next three years after the conviction very difficult indeed, as you can imagine. Made things very difficult for him but he was lucky he didn't cause an accident and hurt / kill himself or anyone else. Mind you, the RAC didn't have any problems about giving me a competition licence, as long as I could pass the medical
  4. Funny how things go isn't it That being said an interview is just the start. Commit to preparing for the interview and study the new organisation before you go to the interview. Find out as much information as you can about how the work, run and operate. Scour the Internet for information about what's been happening at this other organisation over the last 3-5 years. What business and operational changes have they made in that period? What other organisations have they worked with to make those changes? What challenges might they have faced/be facing? What successes have they had, what direction are they heading in? All common sense stuff, but it really is doing the research. I'm sure as long as prepare and can be confident about your strengths. As well as being honest about how you've worked on improving your own skills ( training courses you are going to put yourself through etc). You will do fine and ace this interview. If you can work on the interview and then get an offer, well happy days, it's a new challenge and opportunity for you. You'll have got it by your own effort and experience, as well as by being prepared to step outside your comfort zone. I would wish you good luck, but it won't be luck if you get the offer. It'll be because you got off your backside and worked for it.
  5. Your current boss sounds like he's being a c@ck, but this could also be a test for you, Why don't you get both your current boss and potential new boss in a room together. Then run through the difficulties yourself with them. Something like the following. Clearly I'm a valued member of my current team, there's a potential skills shortage if you leave that post. This might pose a risk to that department, which would be unacceptable to the business. Your current boss has seen this risk ( so makes him not look like a c@ck) and has concerns. You have thought about this concern and think there is a solution, if current and new boss agree to it. They (as in the business) select an internal candidate or hire a new candidate over the next month (by end of Feb). Once they have the new person, you will train then and up-skill them through March. At the end of March, effectively at the end / beginning of the financial year. You will move in to your new role with the new boss, leaving a trained person in your current role. You will also offer to mentor that person for a period of three months. If these bosses are any good have any management skill they will seriously consider this offer. If your old boss refuses I would then say ok, just thought this would be a great solution for the business. You will however know that you tried to propose a great solution. You I'll know you've tried to do the right thing. You will also then be totally free within your own mind (as in no regrets) about starting to look seriously for alternative employment. When you find a new opportunity, you can grab it with both hands with no guilt at all.
  6. Just don't let him near any tools. And if he's your surgeon, he'll be late Meeeoooow
  7. Just don't let him near any tools. That's solid advice for sure
  8. Agree with the guys, go and see / speak to a Doc. Contacting Bennett is terrific idea. I know he'll offer you some very solid and well founded advice.
  9. Spotted outside the Swedish embassy, almost opposite the Swiss embassy on Montagu Place, Westminster, London
  10. On the fuel issue its particularly difficult. My experience a good few years ago may (or may not) be helpful. Spent a good month or two seeking advice on here, kept my eyes open for a Zed I wanted. Found my Zed in 2009, no real history, 60K miles, etc. however it looked very tidy and had some tasteful / subtle mods. 5 1/2 years and 127,000 miles and I've had no major issues whatsoever. The odd electrical gremlin (think its a wiring issue). One new battery, which I've just changed. Several exhaust, plenum, engine and wheel tweaks and she's still going strong. What fuel did the previous owner use? No idea, but I know I've used 98 / 99 ron since I bought her.
  11. Mattle40, I'm sure you'll find a good Zed, as grundy's indicated though, you may need to have a little patience. Fundamentally the 350Z is solid, with a few niggles, like every car. I think all the guys who've fed back on this thread just want to make sure you don't get stuck with a lemon.
  12. Mattle, you're looking at quite a tight market for £5K, certainly in terms of finding something decent. Please don't be offended, but if your initial spend budget is so tight. What makes you think you can afford to run a 350Z? In terms of fuel, tyres, servicing, insurance? These are all important things I sincerely hope you can find a good deal at that price. Buying is one thing, running it is another. You're worried about whether a previous owner has run it on the correct fuel. Wil you be in a position to run it on 98ron +?
  13. Not got a replacement, already had a Fisher Fury in the garage and a Range Rover on the drive so am pretty lucky anyway. Guy near me has a Fisher Fury, cracking car. He's always got a beaming smile on his face when he's driving it
  14. I now watch it for the places they go to, drive through and experience. I can find out about the cars for myself. However, seeing different parts of the country / world has made me think "Vietnam looks amazing.....wonder if we can get there...". It's entertainment, nothing more, nothing less
  15. Mmmm, lovely, lovely cars! Particularly like the Bizzarrini, gorgeous car
  16. Spotted his F1 in Thame last year, got a pic as while he was parked in the Waitrose (Wednesday 9th July 2014) http://mobile.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=407726&r=29002111&hm=31934&mid=31934 Amazing car in the flesh, so small in comparison to most modern supercars.
  17. Polo and T-Shirt I think. Polo with subtle forum name / logo on breast pocket ( as in left breast when wearing it). Plus subtle forum user name represented under that. T-Shirt with big forum logo on front. On the rear smaller forum logo across the top / between the shoulders, underneath Wales 2015. Then with a list of great bends, locations, rest stops we visit over the weekend (like a band tour t-shirt) with dates by them related to when we plan to drive through them. Maybe under the list / dates have the forum username
  18. chips, the good thing (and this is to be applauded) is that you 1) wanted to find out, 2) that you asked the question. Now all you have to do is fill up on fuel (whichever one you choose) and enjoy it. That, after all, is the most important thing. Really hope you get the most out of the 370Z, its a terrific car with some great character.

  20. Have you checked with Experian and Equifax to make sure those debts are marked as satisfied? There's no harm in double checking with them. I think it's probably £20 or something for your better half to get the latest status on her credit history.
  21. As indicated by Paddy78 and Ekona. You can use 95 RON petrol in the 370Z seemingly without any evidenced negative mechanical impact to the engine. However; why one would not want to gain the performance or efficiency benefits from using the higher 98/99 octane fuels in a big engined Sports / GT car, I'm not sure. In reality its not going to do the 370Z engine any harm as far as I'm aware, but also its only money, so why not spunk it on the super-duper fuel and get the benefits anyway
  22. Yep, agree with others, go and see him. Even if it is only a couple of weeks. I think the fact you're there to help will be very much appreciated, from both a physical and emotional perspective. Get booking your ticket
