  1. Lovely looking car, styling is classic but with a modern flare, very nice. I agree about the V8, got to have that gorgeous burble
  2. Sounds like they have other operations ongoing, from the press conference they gave.
  3. As the other guys have said Wrooty, you must use Super unleaded in the Zed. Preferably 98ron and or above if you can get it (Tesco Momentum / Shell V Power).
  4. Wrooty, my Zed is currently sat at about 128,000 miles with no major issues at all, just the expected high mileage wear and tear (bit like me ). Regular servicing, getting the best tyres you can afford and running the right fuel (Super unleaded - preferably 98 octane and above) is a must. Make sure you ask "...so what fuel have you been running it on?..." type questions to find out whether they've been running it on 95ron. Check the FAQ guide out for further info, it's full of useful stuff http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/
  5. MCook, I hope you get this sorted, I quite like the wheels by the way. Important thing you need to do asap. Did you get anything in writing from anyone (as in the manager of the branch, who is a representative of Kwik Fit and therefore can accept responsibility on their behalf) saying that they were accepting responsibility for the damage to the wheels and that they will be replacing them? If not do this right now, you must (must, must, must, must .......... X a million and etc) get something in writing where they accept responsibility and that they are going to replace the wheels at their cost.
  6. Still have my Star Tours mug from ........OMG! ...18 years ago I'd only add by saying going to Florida all those years ago still counts as being one of the most run / relaxing holidays I've had. Universal was fantastic, downtown Orlando was cool, Clearwater was a nice chill out, Daytona was fantastic (Spring break week ). Overall the parks, the atmosphere, the people really made it a lot of fun. Not the kind of holiday I would normally do but actually it was brilliant One of the best memories I have is watching the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and them calling out people from the audience. I tell you no lie, they called out four people from the crowd we were in in. One was called 'Homer' ......and one of the ladies was called 'Muff' As you can imagine, much hilarity ensued
  7. where can most the guided trips be booked?? I might do a couple while over there I've found a couple of sites for 'Free Guides', effectively you pay for their entry in to things, pay for transport costs, pay for lunch / dinner etc. They're run like a volunteer service, for Japanese nationals who enjoy sharing their culture with travelers, enjoy meeting people from other cultures etc. As a legal requirement in Japan, all these guides are licensed as well. http://www.tokyofreeguide.com/ The above seems to be a pretty good one, lots of guides, lots of feedback etc.
  8. We're heading to Japan in April, I think we get there 2 days before you guys leave. Col and Will have provided some great advice as have others (choptop etc). We get in on the 17th in the morning, so we're heading in straight in to Tokyo and dropping bags at the hotel. That first day is going to be a find out about the local area day I think. We'll just mooch around Shinjuku for a couple of hours, go to the Shinjuku Gyoen and chill for a bit, head to the Metropolitan building and perhaps a few cheeky beers in the Golden Gai and some food. We're in Tokyo for 5 days before we head down to Kyoto. We're there for 5 days I think before heading back to Tokyo for 4 / 5 days. So about the same length of stay as you guys. We've decided to get guides in both Tokyo and Kyoto, not what we'd normally do. When you're traveling such a long way and to such a different culture it just seems to make sense to have local knowledge to make the most of it. Think we'll be visiting the same kind of stuff as you guys. Wondering if I can get tickets to the Studio Ghibli organised (I want to ride the Cat Bus!). We're also toying with the idea of leaving Tokyo a day early and staying somewhere between there and Kyoto, to have another different experience. Also looking at options to get to Nikko / Tochigi, Nara and Himeji too, if we can. Going to get our JR Passes sorted soon, think we'll only need the 7 day pass. Also looking at hiring a phone and mobile wifi for when we're out there too. Just noticed, I'm eating udon noodles while posting this
  9. A job well done Darren, great that you found no rust.
  10. Tragic, the horrible circumstances in Nigeria with Boko Haram's murderous fracturing of society.
  11. Colin, that looks bloody fantastic, what a terrific car! Really impressed by the info I've read about this. You've got an amazing set of wheels there!
  12. You're talking about those SS and Wehrmacht soldiers who joined the FL, fighting for France in Vietnam during the 50's.
  13. No gunfire, I hope they manage to get everyone out ok, I'll be amazed if they do
  14. Jeez, they're going in, machine gun fire and explosions
  15. I hope not Adrian, but who knows whats going to happen
  16. Looks like GIGN there within minutes
  17. It's turning in to a nightmare isn't it. The shooting of the young policewoman has been linked to the Charlie Hebdo attack. Armed police now evacuating the area around a kosher supermarket in Eastern Paris. This is just terrible
  18. Printing business being reported as the location where the suspects are. Could be coincidence, but could it be this printing firm is responsible for the printing of Charlie Hebdo? Probably coincidence I suspect
  19. Just quoted that 2 people have been seriously injured in a shoot out during the car chase. Not good at all
  20. Hoping that this doesn't turn toward some awful outcome. I hope the Police and special forces can close this down without any more casualties
  21. I believe there is a significant power struggle going on within the Islamic / Muslim faith, between the moderate and extremists. I think, sadly, that the moderates are struggling to maintain a hold on the core of their faith and followers. I think this is a key battle which cannot be underestimated. If the moderate Imams and leaders, those condemning these attacks, from mosques across France and across the world today. Don't succeed in taking back the faith for those who believe in it, then things will only get worse. We will see more incidents like this happening. I think the only way society as a whole can beat or reduce the likelihood of these kind of incidents. Is to work together. Support those within the Islamic faith trying to turn their followers away from violence, away from a misinterpretation of Islam. Which is the partly the source of these such attacks (along with those grievances which they may have (legitimately or not) against the Western / Christian world. This is about a war within a faith to stop it being tainted / twisted to an interpretation which is going to tear this world apart. I'm reminded of something Stephen Fry said on QI a while ago. There was a discussion about faith and the troubles in Ireland, which pretty much sums up the whole conflict between faiths thing for me. Stephen Fry ".......Catholic versus Protestant, essentially. It's that kind of fight......And it goes on to this day. Will we never learn? Who knows? ......Religion. 5h1t it."
