  1. Why not get a canopy or gazeebo to put over the car while its on normal axle stands on your drive?
  2. Not sure id want to wheel my car in and out on them to be honest. They maybe fine, as the weight of the car will probably hold it on them anyway, but if they gather momentum and they start going wayward, how are you going to stop them?
  3. Sorry to bring an old thread back from the dead, but what are the issues with fitment on these? Have they just got some high and low spots that need flatting/filling to get it sitting flush, or is it something more involved?
  4. I think Lotus will be strong this year, i think they will be competeing within the top 3 teams. They have a good creative team there, and although they have a smaller budget, they still come up with some good ideas, though they dont always work.
  5. I have no idea about other people, but all i know is, he had a 20minute trip to work for 5-6 years, always filled up with the same fuel, at the same station, and his car developed an issue that no garage could cure. He put a tank of Shell in his car, and after some driving the issue went away. That is what happened. Im not going to say anything else, other than they are the facts,i was sharing an experience. I know comparing a F1 car to road cars is abit pointless, but was just making it obvious that fuel can make a huge difference to an engine, regardless of its application. Mark at Abbey found that when he disected a DE engine run on 95octane fuel that had blown up.
  6. Guy at work is a real skin flint, and ran his 2.7 Diesel A6 Avant on supermarket stuff (Asda) for as long as he had it. It started to develop a real problem, and he must have spent £1000 taking it to garages, and getting things replaced. He was almost out of fuel one day, nowhere near Asda, so filled up with Shell standard stuff. The next day, the issue he had being trying to solve had gone. Was the fuel. Also, in F1 ( i know we dont run F1 cars), some teams are finding serious performance from just changing fuel, as much as 50hp in some cases, its unreal. Just goes to show, fuel is not just fuel.
  7. Iv got an Invidia true dual coming my way shortly, looking forward to getting it fitted. Iv currently got a non resonated Scorpion, so will be interested to hear how the sound changes. Did you do yours on your drive? Thinking I may do the same, as only had the Cats and Y pipe fitted last year, so should be pretty easy to remove.
  8. Iv had 19" on my car for a few years now, only 6 months ago took the plunge and got coilovers. The car looks so much better now, and iv only gone down 10-15mm or so, handles better too. Each too their own. The car does not look ridiculous with no drop, but you only notice it when you do drop it. Im running 275-35 rear, and 245-35 fronts.
  9. Fair enough, looks mega, was just curious about the aero side of it thats all.
  10. Love these, great car for the money, and you even found a manual, great choice. I quite like the fan blade type wheels you can get on these, but M6 wheels are tasty. Interesting to see its not a total barge, which is what i expected. Bet with a few choice mods it will be a decent handler. Any plans for a LSD in it at all?
  11. That looks pretty epic, like that alot! One thing, does covering that bit on the roll hoop not massively screw up the aero, as surely it would be better to either duct it somewhere, or have it open so air can get to the rear wing. Or does your head cover it all anyway? If its not covered, why not run a big duct to the air intakes, so you can ram air into them, as opposed to drawing air in.
  12. Iv tried to contact RT, but he has not responded. Looks like this is a dead duck now. :-(
  13. Mega Car Colin, well done! Seen one of these launch from a standstill, and couldnt believe it, just goes. I really like the look of them too, a guy at work has a silver/grey one, looks really menacing.

I never did see that episode about the hills and 500's.
  15. Clean your Car (CYC) are also brilliant, spent most of my money with them, great service and products
  16. Envy Valeting for me. I got 5L of their HD Blue Snow foam, mega stuff.

I like the Fiat 500, but have to say, only in Abarth trim. Saying that, my run around is a Nissan Puke, so im not one to judge,
  18. I replaced my front ones a couple of years back, so that maybe why. Though never replaced the rears, and still didnt have any problems, still as you say, each to their own.
  19. Dan, I didnt think the drop links were essential if fitting ARB's, cant say I have them fitted, and happy to be corrected.
  20. They are adjustable, which is good, though if I was doing it again, id probably spend a little more and get something like the KW's, which are 2 way adjustable or the Tein with electronic damper control, just for the fine tuning really, but for the money, id say they are very good. Iv heard there are a few 'makes' that are all the same, Meister R and HSD's, not sure how true that is. They can go down to silly low, but I have mine set at 25ish below standard, as I have lots of speed humps around my way, and want it usable. You will need a pair of damper extensions for the rear, and a set of rear camber arms to bring the rear camber back in line to standard.
  21. I have the Eibach ARB's, and have to say they are brilliant, and well worth the money. I fitted a set of Meister R coilovers earlier this year, and now think the car is pretty handy handling wise, iv also got 19" wheels. You should be ok with 25-30mm drop on the spacers
  22. LOL, well the banana arm bushes were fitted by a company present on the forum, so would not say they were monkey's or anything like that.
  23. Are people still up for these, sorry its been a while, had alot going on over xmas and new year.
  24. Well last week took my car to a guy I trust to bleed my brakes, and mentioned to him that something was making a noise, and I could actually feel it in my feet. After a few things, found that 2 bolts that hold the front subframe on, just about where my feet would be, were loose, like properly loose, and the banana arm mounting one, was only marginally better. Tightened everything up, and no more noise now! Car feels a little better with steering respose and turn in too, hardly surprising really. Had the banana arms replaced about 3.5 years ago, but never dreamt that the bolts would come loose!
