  1. Saw a post on Facebook requesting owners of new ish (under a year) 370Z's to contact them for a feature.
  2. Its very regretful, but due to an oversight on my team leaders behalf, I have 2 tickets for Linkin Park at the O2 Arena on Sunday 23rd of November. These cost me £55 each+P&P, and just looking at getting back what i paid for them, these are for standing area.
  3. I have a red filament bulb, i think. Cycled into work the past few days, but will check tomorrow
  4. Im guessing thats EJ's private jet, nice! I think T3 should have a large gravel area just beyond a short tarmac run off, that would spice things up abit!
  5. Currently sat at Sochi airport waiting for my flight home. Have to say the women here in Russia are HOT! Track looks pretty good, the last turn is very tight, hopefully should be good for overtaking.

    Popping noise

    Anyone any ideas or suggestions?

    Popping noise

Sly checked all the usual weak spots and made sure everything was as tight as it should be. Im wondering if its a steering joint or something.
  8. Im sure its started before id had the coilovers fitted, but it seems to be getting worse. (Sorry this is not about exhausts popping) Basically, i can feel something making what can only be described as a popping noise on the drivers side front area. Its pretty loud too. When i took it to Sly to check everything else, he couldnt find anything wrong, though he agreed there was a noise. It sometimes even does it when the car is sat stationary. Now if i turn the steering wheel to the left and let go of it (With the car stationary), it sort of replicates it. I can feel it too when driving, though not isolated it to either the steering or the pedal area. I was wondering if its an engine mount or something steering related. I know these sorts of posts are a little tenious, but was hoping someone could possibly help.

    Brakes

Sorry Mitz, was not trying to steal business from you, just trying to help out a fellow forum member. If he has a fundamental issue, he will go through the new discs and pads mega quick, and it wont solve the problem.

Sounds like they are warped mate. Why not try getting them skimmed by Disc Skimmers first before spending more money. I think his name is Markus, top bloke, knows his stuff.
  11. Fair play mate, hope you really enjoy it, you will never get tired of that noise!
  12. Had an issue with it not recognising my Airplay, but after a shut down and start up, all seems well again.
  13. My mates with 70k on it when he bought it looked amazing, you would swear it was half that mileage, so agree with Dan, the inside and out is very well built, and defy their age, i wouldnt have known it was on 70k unless he told me.
  14. Take the pads out, and see if there is anything trapped/caught in the pad. I had this, and ended up witha ring, though it was not in the middle like that. When i took the pad out, there was a lump of something holding the pad off, which is what was causing the ring, as the pad was not making 100% contact.
  15. Up to 08 I think it was or maybe 09 when the 997.2 came out and they changed the design. I'm sure if I went for it nothing would happen, but it's the risk and knowing the IMS goes it's going to cost 5 figured to get it fixed! You can fit an aftermarket warning kit for the IMS failure, which will give you a warning of some sorts before you cause expensive damage. However, have not known anyone to kit one in my limited exposure to them. A good friend of mine got a 70k C4S 997.1 for £25k or something, and its a great car, though not massively faster than my DE Zed, but its a lovely place to sit, and the noise is growing on me. He went for a higher mileage car, as its less likely to suffer the IMS failure etc.
  16. Her husband has a silly name! Owain Walbyoff
  17. One of my favourite photos http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/entertainment/articles/2014-07/01/natalie-pinkham-interview-british-grand-prix-2014
  18. Its always good to wind people up about it though, like it being a posh Beetle.
  19. I thought all Mezger engines suffered from the IMS and bore scoring, apart from the Turbo,GT2+GT3? There is definitely more scare mongering than actual failures though. I know several people at work who have Porsches and i know they have had no issues at all, and they get driven hard! A good friend of mine works at Porsche Silverstone, and he has said to me that the risk of failure is small. No different to walking in the street and getting hit by a bus!
  20. Personall, id get a warranty, regardless which of the 2 you choose, but that is up to you. Im sure the 6 would be more preactical, so how often would you need to carry more than one passenger in comfort? I think its a beautiful shape, and im still a fan of the original Bangle 7 series. (Its an interesting car to look at) Personally, if you want something to replace the Zed, i think you will find it hard to choose the 6 over the 911, but if you are willing to compromise slightly on driving thrills (not in a straight line, as lets be honest, you would never get bored of that V10) then id go for the 6. The 911 is more outright sports car with a touch of practicality added in with the rear 'seats' Have you thought about an AMG Merc, CLK63 or something like that?
